Anyone seen the Babbadook? Quite fancy being scared out of my wits tomorow...

QueenQueenie · 01/11/2014 20:58

Or should I be more culchured and see Mr Turner instead.... decisions, decisions.

hattymattie · 01/11/2014 20:58

It's going to be a fun to evening then RudySmile

BTM - loved Lewis Collins as wellWink.

hattymattie · 01/11/2014 21:00

QQ - I was wondering if anybody's seen A Testament of Youth?

bigTillyMint · 01/11/2014 21:02

I quite fancy Mr Turner!

So started a long interest in bad boys!

hattymattie · 01/11/2014 21:11

Grin Grin

CointreauVersial · 01/11/2014 21:36

Bloody hell, Herbs, how complicated. I'm soon meeting up with my own A, B and C for our (now) annual pre-Christmas dinner, leaving other halves at home. I see one of them fairly regularly, because her DD is in the same tutor group as DS, but rarely cross paths with the other two. But it's fine, because we've reached that happy stage where we just catch up where we left off, as good friends do. Meanwhile, D and E conveniently moved away and we haven't seen them for years......

Another lovely sunny day today; I dragged DH out for a walk, which is most unlike me. I just had a suspicion that it might be the last nice day for a while. Predictably, the DCs declined to accompany us.

Hattie, QQ, Rudy, Stropps, thanks for GCSE advice.

And Stropps, well done on party and millions more parenting points.

QQ, Mr Turner sounds wonderful.

Auriga · 01/11/2014 22:47

Sorry, seem to have lost previous post. I did also thank BTM, lalsy

Auriga · 01/11/2014 22:49

(Blast)

...and all the others who offered me kindly advice - sorry for posting incompetence.

And MrsS, you didn't mention how you are feeling after your surgery?

MollyAir · 01/11/2014 23:23

MrsS, make excuses so you don't have to have unwanted Xmas guests. Be ruthless. Schedule imaginary additional surgery on Xmas eve. Or something!

I would really love a crepey bike-in-the-park thing. Brockwell cafe meeting place would be great. And you could all feel virtuous for helping me lose weight (all contributions of help on that score will be very gladly received).

For the Xmas meet-up, embarrassingly, perhaps, I'm free for all those dates:

Friday 5 December
Friday 12 December
Saturday 13 December

I could also do the ones close to Xmas, but I reckon that's pushing it for most people? Who else can make it?

bigTillyMint · 02/11/2014 07:46

OK, let's do a crepey-bike-in-the-park thing! I am usually free on Saturday afternoons and Sundays - would that be good for you Molly and Lalsy? And any other local crepeys who feel the urge!

Trying to copy and paste but failing....
I'm okay for all those at the moment (have no social life) and definitely down weekend of 20th so could do 19th but probably no later than that.

MrsS stand firm. Here weekend of 20th will be family then back home for Christmas.

beachyhead · 02/11/2014 08:52

I will probably have to opt out as well. I can't do the 5th and the following weekend I think dh has his work do.

Very jealous of your dd going to the Blackheath fireworks. We used to live very close to the Heath and all our friends would come for a sausage and a glass of wine from 5pm to 7pm and then pile out en masse to watch them. Fantastic way to entertain.... 2 hour maximum, with minimal cateringSmile

lalsy · 02/11/2014 09:47

Excellent on bike (or walk) in Brockewell park idea. BTM, will pm you my mobile, I am often free weekends at short notice).

QQ, really good luck to your ds.

MI, I hope the weekend is going OK.

MrsS, quick book flights somewhere else?!

(A little group I am has been known to have our Christmas outing early in January - if lots of crepeys cannot make December would that be worth thinking about?).

Blackduck · 02/11/2014 10:08

QQ if you make it up to the second city and have some free time PM me. Maybe we can do coffee...

MontserratCaballe · 02/11/2014 10:22

Looking in very quickly - I can't do any of the meet up dates I am afraid as DH away for the first weekend and we already have plans for the 12th and 13th. I would love a cup of coffee in Brock Park though if any S London crepeys were about. I can't do the cycling but can drink tea and gossip with the best of them.

Herbs, if you are up at the IOE at some point, shall we get together for a cup of tea? I think you said that you might be there on a Thursday, which is fab for me.

Have conducted a ladyjog and now bath is running. I did 20m of non stop running with the lovely Laura offering encouragement. Got overtaken by a few people and met several neighbours out dog walking but managed it without collapsing. Hurray. I am making very slow progress but it is in the right direction at least.

Back later for a proper catch up Smile. Hope everyone has a restful Sunday.

bigTillyMint · 02/11/2014 10:47

What if we organise both pre and post Christmas so I can go to both so that everyone has a chance?!

Monty, I will PM you when we get a date for BP, though it might be a bit last minute as no-one would really want to go cycling/walking if the weather was like todays!

MrsS, like BD, we will be at out-laws on the 20th and just us at home for Christmas. Stand Firm!

lalsy · 02/11/2014 10:59

Last minute for Brockwell would suit me very well.

MontserratCaballe · 02/11/2014 11:08

Last minute would be great, thanks.

If we are having a pre and post Christmas drink, shall we do SS over t'internet?

bigTillyMint · 02/11/2014 11:20

Hope your weekend's going OK, MI

Crepey cycling sounds fun and I would have loved to join in. There are some women in DH's groups, but my limit is about 20 miles and they do anything from 30 to 50 depending on the time of year. Envy

I have been outside deweeding the front paths again (I think that's the fourth time this year) so no restful Sunday for me.

BTM, were you at Hillsborough, or are you just thinking about it? Football is much safer these days with all seater stadiums - all I have to put up with is ripe language; the only racist language I have heard was someone referring to a "black bstrd" and when I told them that we didn't use language like that, they apologised. There is no smoking, of course, and alcohol isn't allowed in the seats. It's quite family friendly I find and we're thinking of taking 3.9 yo DGS.

Well, back to the paths ...

NUFC69 · 02/11/2014 11:36

QQ, not sure if you have mine or not, but happy to share via pm.

I hope you are ok, MI?
