Had secret botox this morning

So. This morning without anyone else knowing where I was I was having botox.

Mentioned it ages ago to a good friend and was met with her saying I was crazy etc. So just thought it better not to tell anyone in real life...

Feels a bit strange and having no one to talk to about it.

If anyone wants to be my botox buddy?

I'm surprised anything happening at day 3. Think you're imagining it. It's at least a week. Day ten is The day imo.

Its fab. Mine kicks in about day 3 too First time took 10 days but not since. I have half dose and complete movement just rested looking. need atm going to ring today!

hellsbellsmelons · 13/10/2014 10:13

It does take a couple of days to kick in.
Patience!
No-one will really notice until you need to frown.
You should be able to still frown a bit though.
I've only had it once before in my life and loved the effect.
Can't afford it though. Booo!

flux500 · 13/10/2014 11:28

Day 3 after botox : so as I updated yesterday I have no crows feet at all now. To be honest my face looks abut strange to me without those little crinkles but I guess it would as I'm used to seeing them!

11s I can frown even less than yesterday and one one side not at all, so just a attempted frown on one side. I am deciding not to frown at all as surely a frown one just one side looks more noticeable than a full frown Hmm

I definitely have a brow lift and I can feel my eyebrows sitting higher, but when I look in the Mirror it looks completely natural - so far.

Do I look younger? Absolutely. My forehead around the 11s could in some light look a bit puffy but already that's flattened out.

If it gets better than this then I will be a convert. It's already better than I imagined Smile

Interesting thing to come out of it is how aware I am of other people's faces. Seems everyone on tv has had it, I really notice it now!

I just have the same every time half dose on forehead lines really works a treat!

welli84 · 13/10/2014 15:32

heehee this post made me chuckle. Ive had botox too and boy does it make a difference. Its not dramatic but really makes you look refreshed, people comment that i'm looking good, rather than asking what ive had done :)
I had it in my forehead and glabella, my doctor injected to lift my eyebrows aswell. Now i actually look awake, which is some feat with my 2 year old waking everyone up early everyday!
I had it with Mr Mark Solomos, a plastic surgeon.

noddyholder · 13/10/2014 15:35

I also go to a plastic surgeon I think the results are definitely worth teh £

feelingmellow · 13/10/2014 16:51

Where's the best place to go in London?
There's a local beauty parlour close to where I live that advertises all sorts of treatments but I'm note sure whether to try it out.

Kittykat7 · 14/10/2014 15:35

I had my forehead top up today & I had a small bit between my eyebrows done again. The Dr said I had a really good result. I'm booked in 2 weeks time to have my crows feet done. I definitely look much fresher & it's very natural. It's the best money I've spent. I would like dermal fillers too but it's $560 & I can't afford that. My 3 Botox areas will have cost me $420 (aus) which I think is reasonable.

highviolet · 16/10/2014 12:30

I am seriously considering taking the plunge now but so worried about resembling Ming the Merciless or a huge gap appearing between my eyebrows. Does anyone have any recommendations for the Bristol area?

jessrabbit3 · 16/10/2014 13:51

Good on you. You have to do what you want. hope you look fab x

Bollard · 16/10/2014 14:00

I had botox for the first time a few weeks ago, and I haven't told anyone. I wanted to get rid of the 11s and not look so tired and cranky. I'm really happy with it. It'll take a while for the 11s to iron themselves out but already I can see an improvement. I had it done by a nurse prescriber who worked in local GPs surgeries for a long time, who is around my age and who I trusted not to go over the top.

SingSongSlummy · 21/10/2014 18:17

highviolet You should try Dr Ian Strawford, he has a clinic in Clifton and is fabulous - ex dentist I believe, but now does this instead!

FairyBiker I am also in Leicester and am booked in to the Sk:n clinic on Friday! I'll let you know how it goes.

When I went to speak to them, the woman said I couldn't lie down for 4 hours after. Is that normal? I didn't realise that.

highviolet · 21/10/2014 22:37

Thank you SingSongSlummy, I work in Clifton, perfect.

Drywhiteplease · 22/10/2014 22:09

I've been thinking about getting Botox for my 11s for ages.....you've persuade me. It's my New Years resolution now.

FairyBiker · 23/10/2014 07:36

Really hippychickster? Keep me updated! What are you having done? How much? Did you just walk in or make an appointment first?

Good luck for fri!

Darkchocsprinkles · 26/10/2014 07:13

Any updates Flux - or anyone else?

Hippychickster · 26/10/2014 08:21

I had mine on Friday and I can definitely see a difference already. I had it on my forehead - don't have 11s but am quite lined. The lines are softer already although not gone yet. I'm looking forward to day 10 as that seems to be the day when it will look the best.

Fairybiker it was quite expensive. I had 2 areas and it cost £360 but tbh if it looks this much better after a couple of days then I think it's worth it. I just went into the one in town and made the appointment. I have to go back after 2 weeks and if I need a bit extra they do it free of charge. I'll try and post some before and after pics at some point.
