Had secret botox this morning

flux500 · 11/10/2014 14:09

So. This morning without anyone else knowing where I was I was having botox.

Mentioned it ages ago to a good friend and was met with her saying I was crazy etc. So just thought it better not to tell anyone in real life...

Feels a bit strange and having no one to talk to about it.

If anyone wants to be my botox buddy?

Yes it was very good. I have a lovely doctor. She's a dermatology consultant at a local hospital so knows her stuff. She was very honest about what would work best for me. She advised against me having forehead Botox which I was considering. That assured me that they aren't just in it for the money.

Ilikesweetpeas · 11/10/2014 19:07

I love my Botox! An 42 and just feel it makes my skin look fresh and healthy. I have it done by a dentist, they are good people if you can find one that does it as their knowledge of facial anatomy is so detailed. Have eyes and forehead done, never had any bruising

FairyBiker · 11/10/2014 19:34

A dentist?
Should it always be done by a medical professional rather than a beauty consultant?

Suzietastic · 11/10/2014 19:46

Oh hang on, can you really have it done in your crows feet???? If this us the case I want this very badly.

Chottie · 11/10/2014 19:51

Please talk to me about the best treatments for forehead horizontal lines and dark circles around the eyes. Thanks

SingSongSlummy · 11/10/2014 20:21

I would second the dentist recommendation. I've always had the best results for my (secret) botox from dentists!

Pregnantagain7 · 11/10/2014 21:47

chottie I've had Botox in my forehead lines before and it was great they completely disappeared. You have to have between your eyes done as well to support it but I can't wait to have it again. I've had two pregnancies very close together so as soo as this babies out I shall be having it again.

Urbanvoltaire · 12/10/2014 08:32

Quick q - do you have a consultation & then go back at a later date to have he deed done? Or can you have consultation & procedure done there & then if you want to go ahead?

nilbyname · 12/10/2014 08:38

I'm getting deep lines at the side of my mouth- like when you smile? They are sort of c shaped?
C
Would that be Botox or filler?

MiaSparrow · 12/10/2014 09:04

OP - how's the face? I don't know if you saw my thread but I posted I was having my first Botox about 24 hrs before you did. I think mine's starting to kick in now. Exciting!

Others who've had it - when would you say you notice it starting to wear off? Doc was like "see you in three months!" but I don't imaging having it that regularly!

Kittykat7 · 12/10/2014 09:19

Nilbyname Fillers are for lines at side of mouth.

MiaSpartow My Dr says the muscle after Botox is relaxed. After it's been done a few times you can go longer between treatments.

Kittykat7 · 12/10/2014 09:24

Urbanvoltaire. I had a consultation & treatment planned discussed then Botox on one area done there & then.

flux500 · 12/10/2014 10:23

Hi all!

Mia - I swear I can see an improvement already. The woman said I would get a brow lift as part of the 11a and crows feet and I feel like I can see that this morning, I have to say I feel like I'm looking really goodWink

And also when dh arrived home last night he kept looking at me and told me I was looking even more stunning than usual. So either he knows somehow and has decided to play along, or he's after something Grin

I'm happy to say I've had no bruising although the injection sites are a little tender when brushing foundation over them but the woman shined a light right into my face so she didn't get any capillaries and that seems to have worked as I was worried the game would be up with sus bruising all over my face lol.

Update : just tried to frown and I can only half frown it's so strange! (And I have to really try to do that!)

And when I do a massive smile I do not have any crows feet - at all!

Smile

What's in store for day 3??

This thread has made me book another appointment!

I see a dermatologist privately (but not in UK) and she is very much of the "less is more" persuasion. When I think of all the cash I have blown trying every wrinkle cream under the sun I really wish I had saved the cash for Botox. As a PP says it just makes skin look taut and dewy.

maybemyrtle · 12/10/2014 21:42

Ok I've been following this thread and I'm so, so tempted. My DP would not be impressed so it'd have to be secret too Wink

I just want the 11s sorted so I don't look stressed/angry, how much ££ am I looking at, roughly? I absolutely don't want to look "done" iykwim.

flux500 · 12/10/2014 22:10

Maybe For one area it was £150. For two it was £250 and this includes free top up in 2 weeks if I feel I need it.

It's so strange, I feel like I'm frowning but I'm just - well not! This is only day 2 as well!

I don't want to get carried away. Did anyone see strictly come dancing last night? Those pro dancers need to lay off the injections, in the before they dance VT they looked really bad Hmm

LiquidCosh · 12/10/2014 23:25

Just be careful OP on Days 3 and 4 the eyebrows can lift a little too much and make you look a bit evil! hehe.( my kids kept looking at me and asking "what's wrong mummy, are you angry"?)
That's what the 2 week top up appointment is for so you can decide if you like your brows that high or would like them lowered a little, apparently some people really like it and some prefer their eyebrows to look more normal.
Personally I've been doing it for years now and have never told anyone I get it done. But I absolutely love it and couldn't go without it now! Welcome to the club Smile

Browtox · 13/10/2014 08:14

I had eye droop last time. She'd gone too near at one point. Looked like an eye infection. It was summer. Wore sunglasses.
