Face wash recommendations please

I desperately need your favourite face wash recommendations please. I find myself buying the latest ones on offer in Boots etc and none of them seem to do my skin any good. If it's of any use, I've got combination skin and no wrinkles yet but of the age I think it's advised to start taking a few preventative measures! Happy to splurge a little if I need to, to find something I love and becomes my face wash go to! Thank you in advance.

I use clinique foaming cleanser and love it - I have combination and sensitive skin and this is perfect xx

Coconut oil turned my face into a spotty mess so tread with caution. There are many other oils that are far less comedogenic.

KneeQuestion · 29/09/2014 11:54

Jaded yes it's fab! Smile

I think it depends on the individual squoosh, avacado oil is supposedly half as comedogenic as coconut oil, but it left my face covered in pustules.

When I first started using coconut oil on my face, I would be massaging it in and then feel a bit of something on my face, it would be a blackhead that had just come out of my skin.

I have suffered with spotty skin on and off since I was 16 and cleansing and moisturising with coconut oil has consistently made my skin better.

I think oil cleansing [with an oil that suits you] is the way forward.

I've used Lush's Angels on Bare Skin since I was a teen - I have combination skin with occasional spots. Just find it does the business.
Am definitely going to give coconut oil a try after reading this though

Dr Hauschka - only thing I have ever found works for me

HazleNutt · 29/09/2014 13:03

African Black Soap. Cheap, natural, cleans amazingly and leaves my skin soft.

nappyaddict · 29/09/2014 14:29

I try to avoid anything chemical such as SLS, polysorbate 60, cetearyl alcohol, paraffin, artificial fragrance, parabens, propylene glycol, anything comedogenic etc.

I like Neal's Yard, Dr Organic.

I can't find any ingredients online for No7 cleansers so will have a look in Boots as I always seem to have £5 off vouchers for them plus they are often on 3 for 2.

nappyaddict · 29/09/2014 14:39

Will look at Amie products too.

I use the oil cleansing method as well with shea butter and hemp seed oil. Argan oil is really good for skin but quite expensive.

nappyaddict · 29/09/2014 14:46

hemp seed oil £4.80 in Waitrose

nappyaddict · 29/09/2014 14:59

unrefined shea butter £7.50 on Ebay

nappyaddict · 29/09/2014 15:15

Video that converted me to using hemp seed oil as a cleanser and moisturiser.

SKIN PERFECTING 2% BHA LIQUID EXFOLIANT

Coconut oil didn't suit me either, was very sad about that!

Where do people buy moroccan/african black soap from? I've had it used in hammams in Morocco and bought some back, but never seen it in the UK.

chocolatespiders · 30/09/2014 16:06

Thanks very much gobbin!

britishbakeoffblues · 01/10/2014 20:24

I've been and bought a bar of Movis from Lush and it's lovely! Will report back when I've used it for a few days!

midnightmoomoo · 04/10/2014 18:25

To those who already use Amie or wanted to try the products, I have the face wash and mask which I bought but don't get on with, if you're in the UK and would like them I'm happy to post them to you if you pm me. Just having a sort out and unearthing a few bits and bobs!

La Roche posay physiological cleansing gel with a clarisonic brush. I also use la Roche posay lipikor for body wash as it's the only thing that doesn't dry my skin. Don't think I'll ever change this combo.
