Here you go Crepesters...

I weigh what I did pre-children but am not the same shape. I have thickened, irretrievably, around the middle.

bigTillyMint · 02/10/2014 11:05

I am currently a stone heavier than I was pre-DC, but it seems to be fairly evenly distributed!

motherinferior · 02/10/2014 11:32

I have just tangled with CDiff again. I am always gobsmacked by their sheer stupidity.

Blackduck · 02/10/2014 11:53

sorry BTM - I love her, but she hasn't got the light touch of the two guys (I do like the fact she gives Paul a run for his money....)

I am ignoring all conversations about weight.....

bigTillyMint · 02/10/2014 12:03

MI CDiff is not just stupid, he/she is self-important!

motherinferior · 02/10/2014 12:39

A toxic combo, innit.

QueenQueenie · 02/10/2014 12:41

Hi all.

Just weighing in on the weight talk... Grin
I have lost a lot of weight recently thanks to the ladyjogging and not stuffing my face but am still considerably heftier than I was pre dc. Don't think I'll ever see those numbers on my scales again. Can't say I'm that bothered tbh.

Ta for enquiries re kitchen. As I type there are 3 men down there making a lot of noise and mess. If I posted pictures now it would still be of unfinished work in progress... Am thoroughly bored of the whole thing now. Is completely usable but unfinished so the feeling of joy at brand new kitchen has rather passed me by... Hmm

I too have fingers in ears and singing la la la during conversations about weight….
On entering Head Office this morning, the wire popped out of my Fantasie Esme Blush and stabbed me in the left boob. And I couldn't do a damn thing about it until I got out of the meeting. And particularly Angry as its my best every day bra. Tried the mall on the way back but no luck, (Fenwick said they stock the knickers but don't stock the bra…what's the point of that?) so am ordering online with very bad grace….
MI one day when you don't need CDiff any more, you'll have to give her (him?) a piece of your mind….

cremolafoam · 02/10/2014 12:49

BTN 's square jelly in the middle entremet was spectacular I think, but I think Richards were indeed better all round. I expend a great deal of energy trying not to compare GBBO entries with pretty much any patisserie in France. No comparison in this particular category.

I will miss Chetna for her ability to make my mouth water with her flavours.

Stropps I hope this morning went ok with the tiny people. You are dealing with a lot. Building work in the middle of it all can't be helping . I would go mad I think. Is there a local library you could decamp too with a memory stick?

The proper cold has arrived here this morning . Seems really odd to have to put on a coat after all these months. We might actually have to light the fire tonight . Heavens!

cremolafoam · 02/10/2014 12:55

Oh poop QQ, I kind of thought there'd be a big reveal. Very sorry it still going on. How enervating for you all.
Sad

Rose that made me giggle. Grin Though not about the wires poking you obv.

Cv - gosh that's a bit scary about the tyres blowing. Was he doing aggressive driving Or just tired?
Glad you were all ok. Smile

herbaceous · 02/10/2014 13:03

Stropps - I know what you mean about the academic work. I have SO MANY tedious books to read it just isn't possible. And five assignments over the year, 120 hours I'd teaching practice and god knows how much paperwork, planning, etc.

Did a spot of esol teaching today. Feedback - good resources, students like me, but I need more 'presence'.

Have meeting with DS's nine-year-old teacher later on to reassure myself that he is being looked after. He never seems to quite k ow what's going on.

QueenQueenie · 02/10/2014 13:11

That makes me feel tired just reading it Herbs - and about what a lot you have on too Stropps... One step at a time?

Don't feel too sorry for me Crem re kitchen - it will be lovely if when it's finished and worth all the aggro. Will post some pics if when that day comes.

Talking of building works, did anyone see Grand Designs last night? Just along the road from me - I recognised the woman on it!

Herbs, 9 year old?
More presence? You?Grin

cremolafoam · 02/10/2014 13:19

No BTM missed that but might watch it later. Saw last weeks which was the 3 container house on a farm somewhere beautiful in NI. The wee farmers mammy was hilarious about her sons desire to build a rather unusual building in a field. Thought it extraordinarily beautiful in the end.Smile

bigTillyMint · 02/10/2014 13:20

This one was a shed behind one of the best local restaurants!

herbaceous · 02/10/2014 13:31

Ooh I saw the norn iron shipping container house. It was wonderful, wasn't it! And the mum was so proud!

DS's teacher probably isn't nine. She's probably in her twenties. But they're rather like policemen in this regard.

Weight-wise I'm about half a stone less than I was pre-child, but have more belly and less arse.

cremolafoam · 02/10/2014 14:42

And that she hopes it will attract him a wife Herbs. It was rather fantastic Smile

Season of Mists and Mellow Crepiness...
hattymattie · 02/10/2014 14:44

QQ - I hate having work done at home - keep telling yourself it will be worth it.

Rose - Grin at bra story and well done for meeting under torture.

Herbs - why do you have to do so many essays - surely it's about getting out there and teaching? Hope things are OK with the little man - I'm sure these are just teething troubles.

bigTillyMint · 02/10/2014 14:54

Aww, I must watch that one!

bigTillyMint · 02/10/2014 14:55

Hatty, there is loads of coursework on teaching courses!

Rosebag · 02/10/2014 15:55

It has taken me ages to find a replacement bra in my size…from an online shop called "Sadie The Bra Lady" Confused Worried that it was a fetish site…..

motherinferior · 02/10/2014 16:18

I must go up to the nice shop near me and have my norks outfitted.

NUFC69 · 02/10/2014 16:37

Rose, Sadie the Bra Lady is local to me. When I have used them they have been very good. They started, I think, as a little shop in Ashington, an ex-coal mining town.

Commiserations to Stropps and Herbs you have my sympathies.

Please don't talk about weight - lalala, hands over ears - must start being careful next week after visitors have left on Monday.

I thought I was feeling better, but have obviously done too much and could curl up and go to sleep.

This morning DH took down the 4' bed which was in DD's bedroom - when we redecorated the room last year and were going to get rid of the bed DD asked if she could have it for her DS when he came out of the cot bed. This was actually my bed as a child and was a piece of Utility furniture. I am really quite touched to think it's going to be used by another generation. We just need now to get a new carpet and two new single beds.

Stropperella · 02/10/2014 16:44

I only have the timetable up until April, but so far I have about 25 deadlines. And there's making all the resources, lesson plans etc. It's fair enough for a specialist teaching course. Very thorough etc. I will certainly know my stuff by the end, if I survive. The travelling is a really big issue, though. I think I am going to have to go direct from here on Tues morning and leave about 6, then I should be able to get there by 9, even if there are delays. I'm just not gaining enough by staying at my db's because it is 30 miles away from the course centre.

Thanks for the sympathy, Crepeys. I will just have to keep plugging away at this, one day at a time. Lots of "feeling the fear and doing it anyway" etc.
Reception was in fact fine, but I still know I'll be twittering again before next week's session.

I am probably about the same weigh as pre-dcs, but am definitely a different shape. I have no desire to lose any weight, as then I will just sag even more. Had my shortest ever haircut in about 25 years yesterday. I think my hair is probably better like this as it doesn't look mad any more, but I fear I remind myself of the dinner ladies from my 1970s rural primary school. They weren't a very glamorous lot. Hmm I'm trying to avoid the greying cauliflower perm look, but I think I may have failed.

Sympathies to MI and MrsS on the visa paperwork front. It sounds infuriating.

bigTillyMint · 02/10/2014 16:54

Yep Stropps, that sounds about right! Ridiculous workload and OCD in its thoroughness, but that goes with the territory, I guess! If I did it, you canGrin Sounds like a good plan to just go early on the Tues even if it is a lot of driving. I am happy to help with lesson plans/ideas/books/homemade games, etc!
