Here you go Crepesters...

OP posts:
Rosebag · 01/10/2014 19:57

omg crem your physio sounds like a sado masochist. Shock

NUFC69 · 01/10/2014 20:11

Ouch, Crem, that sounds nasty. Personally speaking I think all physios are masochists.

I still haven't caught up with all the GBBOs since I came from holiday. I can't decide whether or not to just delete and go from here.

cremolafoam · 01/10/2014 20:19

Rooting for Chetna here tooSmile
They'll need new teeth after tonight methinks. ( no spoilers)

bigTillyMint · 01/10/2014 21:05

DD watches with me - DH is clueless!

Think the decision was the right oneWink

herbaceous · 01/10/2014 23:02

Me too! Big Tilly Nancy lives on! Though TBH I want Richard to win. Best all-rounder, and thoroughly good egg.

MrsSchadenfreude · 01/10/2014 23:32

Ooh yes, Rose, count me in!

Crem, I had a sadistic physio from Norn Iron called Jenny. I asked to have someone else who wouldn't torture me.

We are rooting for Richard and his Big Builder's Hands on GBBO. But also have a soft spot for Big Tilly Nance. Grin

CointreauVersial · 02/10/2014 00:13

Arf at Big Tilly Nance Grin I'm a Richard fan myself, but suspect Luis may creep up on the rails. I also had to watch Bake Off on catchup this evening, as we had to go into school for a GCSE Support Evening.

Unfortunately, things didn't quite go according to plan; as we were pulling into the school car park DH took a corner rather too flamboyantly, absolutely thumped clipped a kerb, and managed to puncture BOTH tyres on one side of the car. Angry So he attended the talk while I stood outside and phoned the AA. Actually, they were marvellously efficient; a very naice man turned up within 30 minutes, towed the car round the corner to Kwikfit, then took both of us home again. But what a numpty.

Wilbur, your kitchen sounds exactly like ours before we replaced it. We had a yellow and blue patterned lino on the floor that was so "busy" that if you dropped something you'd never find it again. Sweetcorn was indeed particularly well camouflaged. We had a nasty yellow artex ceiling, and beige floral tiles that the previous owners never bothered to grout. They did seal the edges, though, lavishly, with great gobs of sealant in a disgusting chocolate brown colour.

We are on the cusp of ordering stuff for the bathroom. A fitted unit thing for loo and basin, as the room is small and narrow, but we will indulge the DCs' longing for a fancy pants tap, as we found a nice one in the sale. But my brain is hurting with the possible permutations of tiles, flooring and paint.

Crem - I think maybe the physio has to hurt. Surely it's good hurt, no? DH has a sore back at the moment but won't do anything about it, just smears himself in Ralgex and stinks the bedroom out.

hattymattie · 02/10/2014 06:24

Waah - need a witty title for the front of my fathers eightieth birthday photo album. Between the four of us - we have only come up with very boring stuff. Anybody any idea's?- he was a doctor by the way.

Stropperella · 02/10/2014 06:44

Oh I know all about physios and sadism. My mother was a physio - and a particularly fierce one at that. Unfortunately, she once treated my PE teacher. Didn't pan out very well for me, I can tell you.
People with sweetcorn floor decorations are clearly in need of a dog. Grin

I am a teensy bit stressed and gibbering. Woke up at 4am again and decided to get up and try and do some work, but am just being a headless chicken-alike. Please tell me I'm not going to lose the plot completely. I can do this whole working in the big wide world business, can't I? So hope my mind stops its anxiety-driven wittering soon.

bigTillyMint · 02/10/2014 06:52

Stropps, do you have an assignment to do or are you "just" reading? I only did the bare minimum with the text books! I am happy to help with a plan if you need (but I don't think you will really need my help) Smile

DS was complaining of sore balls last night. He was hit by the football in his crown jewels at training on Tuesday, but only started complaining last night - what does this mean?!

Stropperella · 02/10/2014 07:51

Hmm, BTM, I'd probably take him to the GP just to be on the safe side, but probably just bruising?
I have 2 assignments to do which ate both incredibly time-consuming and require academic citations to back up every single point. Questionnaires plus rationales for each - did you have to do these?
Trying to co-ordinate loft renovations at the time isn't helping. Roofer coming tomorrow, so we're having to relocate the office contents today. Also, I don't have a laptop, only my big desktop, so the relocation means I can't get down to work properly until dh has set up the network again.
Lalsy - the actual phone is waterproof.
Sorry am so up own arse at the mo'. Am reading and enjoying everyone else's posts, though. Happy new beginnings to your dd, Hatty. And well done to your dd, BTM.

Stropperella · 02/10/2014 07:55

I'm off to school to help with Reception reading again now and I currently feel that I am not likely to be much help as I have a big panic-induced void in my head.

bigTillyMint · 02/10/2014 08:03

DH says probably bruising. If he's still moaning tonight, then I will make DH take himWink

Reception reading is a doddle - you just have to be nice and encouraging (as well as giving them the "don't mess with me eye"!) It will definitely take your mind off everything elseGrin

motherinferior · 02/10/2014 08:11

Stropps, remember you are streets - make that motorways on the whole citations lark. It cannot possibly be as bad as half the editing/translation you do. You can do this; and at the same time don't beat yourself up for finding it a heavy load because it is a heavy load.

DP's brother is coming to stay on Sat from Singapore for the night. I must be polite to him. I find it v easy to get annoyed by him and indeed by all DP's brothers.

Hattie, I'm playing around with something along the lines of 'doctoring the past'....

I have resumed the practice of the Ladyjog. Though cannot go tomorrow as have early eyebrow threading appointment.

motherinferior · 02/10/2014 08:13

I left the word 'ahead' out of that post after motorways. Ahem.

motherinferior · 02/10/2014 08:14

And I too nurse great affection for BTN.

Rosebag · 02/10/2014 08:32

Doctor Hatty's Dad's (insert name) Facebook? Too naff? can put 'casebook' instead if more relevant…
GBBO…sorry MI, she had to go but I will miss her. I think Richard is the front runner…Luis is probably the greater artist but gets too emotional and I love Nancy for her down- to- earth nature and for daring to be a bit cheeky to Paul "I think I'm so fucking wonderful' Hollywood (god, I hope none of you are related…I quite like him really...) but she's had a few not so good 'bakes' hasn't she?
Shock CV but relieved it was just the tyres.
Stropps you can do it….you are already. Although sleep deprivation doesn't help the anxiety, does it. Treat the reception reading a light relief…i agree with Tilly…the kids need encouragement and smiles. Do-able.
I know nothing about sore bollocks despite living in a male dominated family. Down the Docs if it persists I expect.
Right I am off to a very unfashionable part of West London on a head office mission and then home to prep tonight class. Have a good day Smile

beachyhead · 02/10/2014 09:00

Maybe arnica tablets for sore bits. I dish them out for all manner of knocks and bruises.

I have ds home again today; sick twice yesterday (just reported, not witnessed). You may remember that he had very bad stress induced IBS in year 7 and I suspect this is also anxiety based. He's very good at fronting it out though. I'm contemplating how to approach it.

I like Dr Wotsits Casebook as well.

Oh and BTM, dd made it to a friend of a friends in Clapham Junction by 1230 last night! She went incommunicado from the text that read 'I'm on a bus to the station' at about 11pm until 645am this morning. Oh the wild adventurous yoof Grin

MrsSchadenfreude · 02/10/2014 09:27

I am still at home effing and blinding about US immigration. Must go into the office. Must get dressed first.

On S & B front, I have purchased a new frock from Boden and it looks quite nice on porky me. It's the Highgate one. I am also trying to lose some weight, which I think won't be too hard as I am working in a different office now, and it has no canteen. Except it takes me forever to lose weight.I was in hospital for 10 days a few years ago, nil by mouth, and kept hydrated by a drip. At the end of the 10 days, the nurse said to me, very confidently, "You'll have lost loads of weight." I had lost half a kilo.

And Stropps, what BTM and MI said. Just be nice and encouraging with the littlies. I don't think you have to be anything else. (Although I am not a big fan of small children and would struggle with this!)

Blackduck · 02/10/2014 09:28

Stropps you will be fine, honest..... (I am secretly envying all your work as I am so borrrrrred and could do with getting my mind focused on something and being challenged...)

Agree re dog Stropps :) I never had a problem with toddler dropped food as there was always an open maw just below the high chair :)

Sorry Chetna had to go but inevitable. Either Richard or Luis to win. Nancy hasn't got the refinement....

hattymattie · 02/10/2014 09:42

MI and Rose those are brilliant -thank you so much - I think we were in a rut. I think we've got something to go on now - Dr x's Facebook with a strap line - doctoring the past - I'll put it to the siblings. I love you fellow crepies..Smile

bigTillyMint · 02/10/2014 09:46

Beachy, glad to hear your DD survived. Looks like a trip to the Health Food shop!

We have DS's first Parents Eve this year next Wed. I am NOT looking forward to it, and I guess he won't be either!

BD, how can you say Nancy hasn't got the refinement?Shock!

MrsS, good luck on the losing weight front - it's not at all easy!

motherinferior · 02/10/2014 09:54

I climbed on the scales after having DD1 and had lost, I think, nothing. Zip, zilch, nada. Possibly half a stone.

bigTillyMint · 02/10/2014 10:00

I was fine after DD - got back to a reasonable shape without really trying. Sadly not after DS!

I never got back to the weight I was pre-DC!

hattymattie · 02/10/2014 10:06

I'm 5 kilos over what I was before DC's - it is all round my stomach. I would love to have my waist back.
