I've done this once before with cosmetics only, but interested to see if it'll work for clothes too.

I've just had a massive clear out of clothes, cosmetics, beauty stuff etc and am wondering if any of you lovely MNers would like some stuff for free?

There's too much to list individually, but for instance, there's a Monsoon black tuxedo jacket, Lipsticks that have never been used, a pair of cream wedge sandals, etc

What I suggest is that if you're after something specific, is to post outlining it eg 'I have a job interview next week and would love a new smart jacket' or 'I'd like to experiment and try a new lipstick colour', or whatever, and if I have something similar I'll post. One item per person please. Once we've agreed on who will get what, lets PM and I'll post the item to you.

:-)

tigerbear I've just arrived home to find my gorgeous silky black shirt dress. It is lovely and makes me look like a very classy lady I've never seen in my mirror before Grin. Thank you thank you thank you!

It looks so posh I'm thinking I can wear it for a big night out coming up - I was thinking of wearing it with a wide pewter coloured belt, silver strappy sandals and chunky jewellery - does that sound nice of naff? I'm not very good at being stylish! Could I also wear it as a casual thing, with skinnies & boots? It's so much nicer than my usual uniform of jeans & t.shirts, I want to wear it everyday! Grin

Would post a photo but I'm shy Blush

Tigerbear · 19/09/2014 21:55

Penguin Brilliant, great that you like it :-)
Regarding your outfit idea, I'd recommend that you don't wear the pewter, silver sandals and the chunky jewellery all together. I think there might be a clash between the metallics. Wear the sandals and the jewellery, and a plain black belt (see my recommendation for Pound Shop belts above!)

As for casual, absolutely! Could also be worn open over your skinny jeans and a plain white vest or tshirt.

Yes you're right about the clashing with the metallics overload - was getting a bit overexcited there! Grin

JLucky22 · 19/09/2014 22:24

I'm 5ft 7 tall and about size 12 top/ 10 bottom and size 6 -6.5 shoe. If you have anything unwanted, I'd love a surprise Grin

LOVE the gorgeous dress tiger thank you so much :) :) :)

Only slight downside is that dd has taken to storing things in the pockets as it is hung up downstairs!! It is my new lovely dress grrr

TheImprobableGirl · 20/09/2014 09:28

And I had never heard of this numph brand before but the clothes look amazing!! Do you know if ere arer any stockists in the uk?? Sort of like an Irish Zara I'm thinking?

TooExtraImmatureCheddar · 20/09/2014 10:41

I didn't know you weren't allowed to post nail varnish!

FelicityFoxton · 20/09/2014 11:04

You're a doll tiger -my dress arrived and I love it. A million thanks

Tigerbear · 20/09/2014 12:36

improbable ha, yes, the pockets are rather great for storing stuff! Sometimes I had a little stash of sweets squirrelled away in there to carry around throughout the day :-)

Felicity really pleased you like the dress!

improbable I've only ever seen the Numph brand in a local shop to me, in Greenwich. The people who run the shop are the UK wholesaler for the brand, so I'll ask them where else it's stocked. It's more expensive than Zara though, I think.

Yeah it is on the pricier side, but some of their stuff online is delicious!! There is a light mushroom coloured blouse with long sleeves and large spots which I need to find!! Thanks again :)

Tigerbear · 20/09/2014 18:25

Improbable I've just been to the Numph store to see if they had the blouse you mentioned, but sadly not. Have you looked for it on Amazon? I'm sure I saw Numph stuff on there a while back.

Also, Gap wool work trousers, straight leg. The size label says 6, but I think they've mistakenly put the American size, as they're def more of a 10, even small 12

Anyone want these nude suede heels by Supertrash? They're a size 3, only worn once as they're too small for me :-( They have sort of knot details down the back and heel (shown in next pic)

evening TB.

what should I wear with my new whoop biker boots? I'm too chunky for skinny jeans at the mo; do plan to lose weight though

ChaffinchOfMegalolz · 20/09/2014 22:13

do people late 30s wear chunky socks with their winter boots? where can you get those? pinterest is helping me decide what I like

Tigerbear · 20/09/2014 22:22

Hello Chaffinch!

Ooh, nothing like a new pair of boots :-)

Ok, are you def sure you can't do skinny jeans atm? Have you tried on loads from lots of different brands? I was in M&S yesterday and their selection of different cuts and lengths was v good. Or their jeggings are particularly good - make sure to go for the ones that are structured and with a normal trouser zip, not the pull on very stretchy ones (these are fab btw, but in IMO better if you've lost a bit of weight, otherwise they aren't structured enough to pull in a muffin top or baby weight 'overhang'. I learned this the hard way after having DD and had a massive post C-section tummy).
Or have a look in Gap for jeans - the cut is quite generous, and they do lots of different lengths and styles.

Otherwise, wear with a shirt dress and chunky tights, tunic and leggings, knitted dress with a belt and leggings.

Biker boots tend to work best worn with a slim silhouette trouser or jeans, rather than wide leg or boot cut.

ChaffinchOfMegalolz · 20/09/2014 22:31

being 5'9'' makes a lot of tops wrong for me, they hang too short,
I've never considered jeggings, kind of inbetwixt troos and leggings hmm thanks for that Grin

coloured/faded skinnies seem to be edging into things - some faded violet ones on pinterest are Lush

tunics - I need to take a long hard look in my wardrobe, think I've got a flowery one somewhere...

hettie · 20/09/2014 22:35

Hello lovely tigerbear, if there's no one after the black gap work trousers I would love them (I can't fit into my black trousers anymore Blush)

Tigerbear · 20/09/2014 22:46

Hettie you're the first to ask about them, so they're yours :-) PM me your name and address and I'll post them on Mon.

Chaffinch Have you tried Top Shop Tall range for tops and tshirts? I have the opposite problem - I'm only 5ft 2, and tops come down annoyingly long on me. Got 2 tops from the shorties range at Top Shop and am loving them.

Oh yes, and I'm very into coloured denim too - have been wearing Gap light pink/purple skinnies this week!
