Hi all.. , several of us on S&B have been posting about our clothese spending ( we know thatis what S&B is about [smile}.

We have wardrobes and chest of drawers utterlyand totally rammed...

We have piles of clothese we've even forgotten we have,(some with the lables still on )

We obsessively peruse S&B looking at recommendations (and then buy them, just because there are there)

We have no willpower,(yet )

We are a friend to every online shop and discount offer going..(not to mention credit card companies)

We just cannot resist sales..

Our postmen and women and the local couriers are getting to know us better than our friends and neighbours..

BUT we want toget back into control and just enjoy what we have to wear.

To this end We the Undersigned PLEDGE to a NO spend August on clothes bags, accessories and shoes (and also make up and beauty products if that is your weakness)

The ONLY exceptions will be tights, basic underwear (knickers and bras) and to replace something that has Genuinley worn out..

It will be hard .. It will be tough.. We will have to be accountable to each other ..BUT WE CAN DO IT!

I love it when the parcels arrive, it always feels like Christmas!

Luckily laska i dont buy magazines or even have them on my tablet. I dont read blogs either. I just need to avoid my laptop tablet and phone!! No mean feat!!

I only get one mag which was a subscription gift but its about to run out and i wont be renewing because its all advert crap.. . but there area lot of them around in my office..

Funny how we buy party and going out clothes .. I think thats what we think we are missing,, (of course we'd probably all hate those anyway)
Its Cowes Week next week ( there. I have outed where i live).. Maybe i
can wear my chiffon dress and suede jacket to the last night fireworks..and get them ruined

But no I wont be going.. cant stand posh 'yachties' and the pretend Haws nor the drunk people who are neither but go anyway.. hopefully to pick up a posh yachtie ,( or to pretend to be one to pick someone up .. its complicated but horrible anyway )

What is Cowes week? I have never heard of that.
Its the commonwealth here....Its all thats on and all the my dh seems to watch. Way too much sport this summer!!!

I've been trying to cut back on clothes buying for awhile, I wore a dress I'd worn previously to a wedding to henley regatta this year. That was a big step for me I always get a new outfit for an occasion.

Ok I have a dilemma ladies..
A dress came for me this afternoon. Im not sure about it. It suits me. It's flattering on. But i would only wear it on my holidays abroad because it involves getting my legs out which i wouldn't do here! Oh and the only sandals i have that suit the dress give me blisters. Shall i return the dress or keep it because it was cheap and handy to have as a "holiday piece"?

Oh right..thanks. We had a floatilla here along the Clyde..there were lots of boats there. Im not very knowledgeable about boats. Im not keen on going in them!! Too much water around me freaks me out!! I did manage to cope with going on the tall ship in Glasgow though, although i didnt like going underneath in it..it was weird!!

Said dress..

Oh i saw that in Next!!! Its lovely and really simple. I like it!! Could you wear leggings with it? I used to be like you and not do bare legs but i just dont care anymore and you could wear some 'nude' ones when it gets a bit chillier.
Its a good price...i have to say, i would keep it. Are you likely to go on lots of holidays abroad?

Oh and the sandals thing..you could wear lots of different ones with that.

Well i have a sun holiday coming up in two weeks. And then probably not again for another year. But it was cheap, good quality linen material etc. i might be glad of it in 35 degree heat. Im not a leggings girl. Its all or nothing

Go for it...to hell get your pins out..im sure they are not that bad. Hell, i have some stretch marks and a few thread veins and on other years i have hesitated but i have a nice shape to my calf so no more!! I just put a bit of fake tan on it.
If your going on holiday throw it in the case!! Perfect with a pair of flat sandals/or heels...you must have those im sure!!

Yes a spray tan will take the blue hue off em anyway and give me a bit of confidence! Thanks green

Well i bought a dress today :(
Moment of insanity and boredom....
Kids are driving me nuts...but hey ho..its not August.
Its from Toast in their sale...yes its still going!

I had my eye on the print..really wanted the trousers but was away on holiday when the sale came on and i couldnt get a signal so missed out. The dress was in stock but not in my size for ages and there it was..in a size 12 and i just had to have it!
On a plus i have put some stuff to sell on ebay.

Coconut shall I be stern again? ....Send it back!

Seriously someone here on S&B told me the 80% rule ( though I think it should be 90%+) Only keep something if its over 80% (90%) ok or you wont actually wear it.. and if you have to buy sandals especially for it then definately dont keep it .. (I'm betting you have shoes and sandals enough!)

Actually i dont really think its a holiday dress. ( though I always have beach holidays in Greece) so it wouldnt suit .. also I hate tights and definately wouldnt wear them in the summer .

Cowes week .. yes its a a huge posh yachting regatta on the Isle of Wight..(where i live) some serious boating money there and some really serious and expensive racing yachts .. also lots of loadsamoney types with boats they cant or hardly ever sail some serious twats also

Greengarden you couldnt live here then we are surrounded by water! (I love it here ) but dont have a yacht or ever likely to though I can sail one

Oh i love the sea and the beach...was at it the other day but i couldnt be floating on it iykwim. Wll wee what the dress is like and then probably send it back.
