Hi all.. , several of us on S&B have been posting about our clothese spending ( we know thatis what S&B is about [smile}.

We have wardrobes and chest of drawers utterlyand totally rammed...

We have piles of clothese we've even forgotten we have,(some with the lables still on )

We obsessively peruse S&B looking at recommendations (and then buy them, just because there are there)

We have no willpower,(yet Wink)

We are a friend to every online shop and discount offer going..(not to mention credit card companies)

We just cannot resist sales..

Our postmen and women and the local couriers are getting to know us better than our friends and neighbours..

BUT we want toget back into control and just enjoy what we have to wear.

To this end We the Undersigned PLEDGE to a NO spend August on clothes bags, accessories and shoes (and also make up and beauty products if that is your weakness)

The ONLY exceptions will be tights, basic underwear (knickers and bras) and to replace something that has Genuinley worn out..

It will be hard .. It will be tough.. We will have to be accountable to each other ..BUT WE CAN DO IT!

So Who's in? Smile

Sign up below .. (and try and resist spending for the rest of July.. this is NOT atime to stock up before too late!!)..

those who sign up wil be prepared check in here regularily

(A tyrant ain't I? Grin

Greengardenpixie · 03/08/2014 20:10

I know..i know...ive been bad :(
I listed my dress...so thats at least one positive thing.
Some of the stuff on free people is lovely and some of it is a bit over the top for me ..i do like some of the dresses and skirts as i have a soft spot for the hippy look!!

CoconutAmericano · 03/08/2014 20:22

I just bought a jumper. Heavily discounted but still.. Jesus can i not even go three full days without buying something?? Sad It is lovely though, i will wear it a lot.

Ok tomorrow i will be strong. Hmm

CoconutAmericano · 03/08/2014 20:25

Sorry to read you've been struck down with a stomach bug laska. May it pass quickly. This will be a very tempting time for you to online shop since you're probably stuck at home now. Try and stay strong, stronger than me at least ( see above) Grin

CoconutAmericano · 03/08/2014 20:26

Girls you have to laugh. We're all failing desperately and it's only the 3 rd ffs lol!!

autumnsmum · 03/08/2014 20:44

I've actually managed three days

CoconutAmericano · 03/08/2014 20:51

Sorry autumnsmum i take it back!! Well done, hope i can get back on track now Blush

Laska42 · 03/08/2014 20:57

Yay!! well done Autumnsmum! pollywolly andsmile masterprocrasinator and zara . You all get a shiny Halo!!

But (oh bggr it..) I ordered the shorts.. they will probably be crap on.. but looked good on the model though and she was one of the 'older' shorter ones..( Damn the Guardian 'all ages' feature ).

I may not go into to work tomorrow if still feeling peaky , but if not will get the sewing machine out again instead AND NOT SHOP. (Ok so its not good taking a day off sick but really, being ill all weekend is just not on! -hope my boss isnt here ! .).

Right all Sinners we start gain right now clean slate? Lets see if we can at least do a week.. Grin

I've not bought anything this month. Yet. Feeling quite proud of myself for resisting temptation.

KiaOraOAotearoa · 03/08/2014 21:59

How about that: went to a big shopping centre with girlfriends, they all bought tonnes of clothes and shoes and I haven't bought ANYTHING!!!

christinarossetti · 03/08/2014 22:02

LOL at all the 'what did you buy?' comments.

I've just Googled the 'Toast' catalogue, which isn't really in the spirit of the thread.

Well done, Kia!

shopalot · 03/08/2014 22:13

Halo here too Grin

HalleLouja · 03/08/2014 22:21

I loved the shorts in the Guardian Laska but have so far resisted. Even though my shorts are in size 12 and am now a 10. They have draw string type things so can squeeze them on.

Will be strong.

Am going to cut up some old ripped jeans and try and make them into shorts. Get me. I can make things on a sewing machine and have lots of fabric but not got my sewing mojo at the moment.

Greengardenpixie · 03/08/2014 22:24

Dont google the toast catalogue...Its gorgeous things. I really want the olivia boots this year...but they are soooo expensive. The thing with toast is, they always have things that noone replicates in quite the same way. Its annoying. I want a cheaper version!! I mean £300 on one item is just beyond my means atm. I love a lot of their dresses especially the red tunic dress with the vintage print. Its beautiful and definetly something i will consider [er later on] Thinks its called the airi dress or something... Totally love the denim maxi skirt with the unusual assymetric zip and ottoman jersey dress and denim one. Im definetly in for their winter sale!!!!

Greengardenpixie · 03/08/2014 22:26

What do the shorts look like? Are they long ones?? I never buy any papers or magazines. Everything i do is online these days!!

Laska42 · 03/08/2014 22:36

It was the Top Shop ones with white with green leaves..(now reduced and most sizes sold out since yesterday when they had all sizes in stock , Shows what a fashion article can do ).. Im not linking because I know you are bad girls!! ( well some of us are anyway)

Actually i thought they were a skirt at first as knee length and wide fitting (obviously my tummy bug must have been affecting my eyesight also !) anyway , like i say they will probably look horrid on me... I should have been stronger.. but wasnt .. (I liked the little blue patterned ones ones also but didnt look ) .

Green think of it as a diet.. you can have Toast in September!!

Greengardenpixie · 03/08/2014 22:43

I know, i know...will google your shorts.

I need your help!!! I have put on my dress and have had so much interest in it in just the last couple of hours. I have had three people ask me for a buy it now. Someone has offered me £45 for it [ it cost £65] Should i let it go to auction and take my chances?? or should i accept her offer..what should i do?? [ The last person offered £35 but i declined, the second person hasnt got back to me yet..] what do you think? I need the money to pay for my Toast jacket/coat denim thingy!!!

Greengardenpixie · 03/08/2014 22:44

Oh i have currently 9 watchers which is quite a lot considering it hasnt been on that long...what would you do?

andsmile · 03/08/2014 23:06

9 watches bloomin heck! I always lose/break things like watches n jewellery. £45 seems good, I thought bench mark was half price of value for good second hand clothes..I dont know I got pissed at ebay and didnt bother. the money is gone, get some back take £45

No browsing/ordering/purusing/shopvisiting here Grin

I did a lot of cleaning, laundry, cleaning of toddler + paints. Cooked a big ole roast. Wink

Planning to buy paint tomorrow and start decorating - that'll keep me busy and spending on other stuff.

Greengardenpixie · 03/08/2014 23:14

I have nine watchers on ebay re read the post lol!!! ^ probably do in my cupboard though
What should i do??

andsmile · 03/08/2014 23:34

LOL LOL Grin

I see, well IMO hedge your bets, see what bids/requests come through by 9pm tomorrow - not gonna hurt is it.

Greengardenpixie · 03/08/2014 23:50
