Ooops, sorry, I didn't mean to finish the thread.

OP posts:
Blackduck · 20/07/2014 12:24

Herbs I'm like that. I hate phones - prefer to text or email. It frustrates my friends no end!

Ds has arrived home with painted nails and stories of takeaway curry - now if we have curry he's totally unadventerous, but last night had a dhansak!

Two bags packed, new Hoover sorted (dyson official died yesterday - won't even turn on...) reading the Sunday paper.

MrsSchadenfreude · 20/07/2014 12:34

He is still breathing, Herbs. Just.

Mmm, treacle tart...

Blackduck · 20/07/2014 12:48

MrsS is he aware of his failing(s)?

wordassociationfootball · 20/07/2014 13:07

Rose's DD's dancing and Rudy's cupboard twins made me fill up yesterday.

hooray for everything being sorted with pal Herbs. By the way, I have a feeling I got things wrong with ice pack few days ago. was it your DS that needed one? I thought he'd been the cause of one so my emoticons might have been off....

I updated my LinkedIn page and it emailed all my contacts inviting them to congratulate me on my 'new job.' I don't have a new job and had, I thought, ticked 'no don't let everyone know' box. LinkedIn behaving like some gobby family member....

I am flat out exhausted and preparing to go back to bed for the third time today, after which I hope to rise like a phoenix and seize what's left of it.

Cut two inches off DD1s hair and put in some long layers last night (after repeated viewings of a youtube how to and taking copious notes). It looks good, I'm relieved to say and offsets the cash I blew on bedecking her filly form with skirt, strides, converse and sunnies yesterday.

Love all these DHs being told to re-dress. DH is virtual Johnny Cash. If he manages a dark blue we all tell him he looks 'colourful'.

MI I think the only good thing I can see going for you today, is that you aren't the one with jetlag. At least it will be over soon.

CointreauVersial · 20/07/2014 13:19

DH loves a bit of colour clothing-wise; his favourite being orange.

Although he stopped wearing his bright orange hoody at football training after everyone started calling him "Easyjet". Grin

Blackduck · 20/07/2014 13:30

Easyjet! Ha ha :)

WAF - good point Re MI (although I am not sure she will thank you for it) Grin

motherinferior · 20/07/2014 13:37

Kill me now. Watching puppet show.

Blackduck · 20/07/2014 13:49

Oh the fun just doesn't stop MI!

CointreauVersial · 20/07/2014 14:00

At least it isn't raining MI (every cloud, and all that.....).

Blackduck · 20/07/2014 14:03

CV :) (and she's not jet lagged....)

bigTillyMint · 20/07/2014 14:09

EasyJetGrin Love it!

Also love your new gobby family member, WAF!

Just spent a jolly couple of hours in Decathlon and then Sports Direct sourcing stuff for our hols. Always a pleasure to shop with DH. NOT. Have just told him I will cut his balls off if he fk's up on the arrangements for the curry for my party - he's off round there now....

CointreauVersial · 20/07/2014 14:39

Wonder if MI has made it onto the water ride yet? That's where the fun really happens. Wink

More info about the "incident" up the road is now on t'internet - apparently man found lying in the road in a pool of blood at 1.30am. Seriously ill in hospital, but they don't know what happened to him. Sad

Blackduck · 20/07/2014 14:40

Oh CV that doesn't sound good...

bigTillyMint · 20/07/2014 14:48

Oh dear, CV.

MrsSchadenfreude · 20/07/2014 15:00

MI has texted me to say that she is really enjoying herself - having the time of her life, in fact.

I lie. Grin

MrsSchadenfreude · 20/07/2014 15:03

Oh CV, that sounds awful. We had someone stabbed opposite ours last night, and they sent six (6, VI) police cars. Ambulance finally rolled up and took person away (don't think it was serious). I knew it was all going to go badly when I was woken up by someone shouting "Who are you calling a fucking cunt, you fucking cunt?" And it wasn't DH...

NUFC69 · 20/07/2014 15:16

Another "oh dear, CV, from me, too.

My DH will wear colour grudgingly, and I have introduced it over the years. There are certain things he likes buying, ie jackets and suitcases, but everything else is a no no. He is also one of those lucky people who finds bargains, eg a navy pure cashmere in an M&S outlet for £20 or £2.50 for a t shirt.

MI, the day will soon be over.

We've been out for a walk along the Tyne to the bridges and the Baltic Contemporary Art Centre; the Millennium Bridge tilted while we were there. I did hear some sad news on the way home, my DAunt, married to DM's brother, died overnight. She was the last of that generation. We last saw her a few months ago and she was fine, but I have been told that she just gave up eating.

I hope everyone is enjoying their Sunday (I know you aren't, MI!).

NUFC69 · 20/07/2014 15:18

Am Shock at the stories of bad nights and incidents: it doesn't sound good.

Blackduck · 20/07/2014 15:54

Just been for a walk with ds - I think I am sweating pure alcohol.....

Rosebag · 20/07/2014 17:58

I am flat out on the bed in my nightie trying to cool off after a lovely time at friends barbie....but what is this weather Ffs. I'm sweating in places I never knew I had. I have eaten my body weight in lunch and treacle tart....the heat doesn't seem to take my appetite away, more's the pity.

Oh don't worry crepeys...i certainly do tell DH when he resembles his father who has a penchant for ugly trainers and white mid calf socks....what I'm looking for is a way to tell him that actually makes some difference. He's just one of these men who looks good in suited and booted but crap in casual clothes. I get SO cross with him. Hmm

I shall have to go and see if he's ok in a minute. He's back on the phone to EE shouting as I type. Still haven't solved the unholy mess that is our phone contracts Angry In this heat he's in danger of spontaneous combustion!
Herbs I hate the phone too and I get worried about people who insist on the reciprocal thing....who's counting? But glad if it's back on good terms.
WAF I fill up all the time when DD performs. Inclusive theatre is so wonderful for so many reasons.
MI are you ok? Shall we send out some sort of Crepey Squad Rescue?
Well the heavens have opened...praise The Lord.

motherinferior · 20/07/2014 18:03

We are on our way home.Grin

Tried to post at the point where more rellies started arriving - another brother and then the cousin who usually lives in NY, plus his wife (a woman I have always found v annoying)....the fun just didn't stop.Wink

All in all we all managed best behaviour. SIL's English now fluent, which helps. And she was being v sweet. Nine year old niece also a sweetie and v impressed by Big Girls. Cousin's Difficult wife appears to be nervous of me, which is bizarre...

Otoh Legoland was vile. Seven year old nephew is a bit of a brat and screeches all the time. I had to have my photo taken, which I always find v upsetting (and I was wearing a dress that makes me look particularly fat). And the constant duckings-out to find a loo just topped it all off...

I need salad and alcohol, not necessarily in that order! Oh and we had to stop in Earls Court because DD2 needed a pee, cue dash into Costa. Now stuck on the south circular.

QueenQueenie · 20/07/2014 18:22

Well done MI, you survived! And did it with good behaviour and grace which is even more impressive. I'd go for the alcohol first and sod the salad. I prescribe gin, with lots of ice and a side order of self-congratulation.

lalsy · 20/07/2014 18:49

I don't know how you did it MI, I found it so humid earlier I could't do anything except lie down......just had my first skype conversation with dd who is now away, is great I think, she could show me her sunburn and how messy her room is Smile.

OP posts:
motherinferior · 20/07/2014 18:57

I did flip a bit over the photos. I am in truth losing the plot a bit about body/looks stuff ATM - am finding it v easy to keep telling myself 'you are a fat ugly failure' and generally feel the way I did in my early 20s. Must Do Better.Smile

motherinferior · 20/07/2014 19:00

And we are now zipping in and out of London in desperate attempt to find a route that will get us home before midnight! It's a 20 minute journey from here normally.
