Yes, we know there are plenty of people who don't like them, but this is a nice thread for sharing our body art, not defending our choices. So please try to play nice.

Have you any tattoos: Yes.

If yes, how many/If not, do you want one: I have one large one that is technically two. It was added onto. Three more are planned.

When did you have your first tattoo: for my 21st birthday

Where are your tattoos/where do you want one: The one I have is top of my back and neck. The two I'm having very soon are one wrist and one arm. My other planned one with no date yet, will be on my stomach

Your favourite tattoo: Has to be my back at the moment, may change my mind after the others are done

I can't get good shots of her but I have a mermaid on my lower back. I also have a dragonfly on the front of my hip.

I have a few more planned but need to get the money together to get them, going to get a cherry blossom fairy (for dd), a dragon (for Ds1) and a phoenix (ds2) and an owl on my forearm

I have the designs in my head but just need to find a good artist with the right style and finance them somehow. I've wanted them for years but first pregnancy and breastfeeding and now being Stine broke have delayed my quest to ink myself

Same here, I've had the cherry blossom on my arm planned since i was pregnant with ds1, but things kept getting in the way!

If yes, how many/If not, do you want one: I have 3. A Duran Duran one, my wedding date and a lighthouse. Several more planned but next one to be done is a swallow.

When did you have your first tattoo: for my 18th birthday

Where are your tattoos/where do you want one: My right shoulder blade, top of right arm and on my left forearm/wrist. I want both arms done and maybe on my feet.

Your favourite tattoo: My lighthouse. I love it

I love the pirate and the lighthouse. DH wanted pirates for his one sleeve, but think he's going with wild west type theme for both now.

My sleeve is a JD bottle, cigarettes, gambling stuff, a heart and rose with my sons name, a sandtimer with this will pass written on it, a sugar skull and various fillers like a dagger, perfume, ruby, emerald and a love letter.

I have a swallow on my stomach.

Rose on my back, cherries on my ankle, a butterfly below my knee, a jukebox on the side of my leg and Marilyn Monroe (the image with her skirt blowing up) inside of my leg an an emerald with a bow on my foot. :)

I'm 38, and I only have the one so far which I got last year, partly to commemorate my deceased DH. Would love to have more though

Your favourite tattoo: Would have to be my back piece but I still adore my only colour tattoo (above).

I just had more added to mine yesterday, still need to take a picture. I am 43 and had a lizard on my right arm covered up in January for being a bit blah. I now have two peonies, large and colourful, with water and clouds and shading. I love it now, but it might need something else later on. I will take a picture.

Photo at last. I have a tattoo because I have fibromyalgia and i dont always like my body because it gives me pain. I love my tattoo and I decide to have that pain. Why do you ink?

Hi hope you don't mind me joining this thread, as another one that loves body art.
I'm 42 and up to now I have both feet tattooed, one with a spider in a web and a naked man in a web on the other, moving up to the side of my ankle with a woman spinning the web.
a large semi naked lady and dog on one thigh, with the witches oath on the other side of her and on the other thigh the start of a leg piece with mermaids,
my back has a big angel, then dragons which I am covered and a pentagram at the top of my back.
top of left arm is a day of the dead face and my other arm is more than half way with a full sleeve of things that represent my children and family, favorite toys and a bus for my parents
Hopefully getting more of my arm done tomorrow

I have several others,a swallow on my foot, a winged heart wrist piece, some shooting stars, some script, another smaller swallow and a crown on my right bicep.
I would love to 'finish' one arm and get some leg pieces but i was working in an office and now haven't had any spare money for a while.
Oh i also have a unicorn on my shoulder, that was my first tattoo, i was considering getting it covered up but strangely it is universally liked.
My dp said after we get married he will pay for me to get my half sleeve.

This thread has given me the push I needed to go in and get a design drawn up for my owl tattoo

Trying to describe what I want is tricky though, especially as I haven't even decided on colour vs b&w yet! If anyone has any suggestions they'd be welcome, I'm popping back tomorrow to discuss it more. I'm getting it on my inner forearm, I know I want an owl sitting, symmetrical and not grumpy looking... Definitely not realistic but can't decide on tribally or cartoony

That's lovely summer , one slight warning the inner forearm is excruciatingly painful
