Okay. Instead of taking over the workwear thread. Ideas/pics for nice outfits for drinks and maybe a spot of dancing on summer evenings, please? Especially for those of us who quite like a bit of leg on show.

This denim skirt looks good, too. For when it's too hot for distressed jeans (bursts out laughing in Australian accent at the idea) tablet.hm.com/gb/product/27176?article=27176-B

EduardoBarcelona · 22/05/2014 06:37

i am OVER denim skirts
they either look like you are in year 9 or that you are a mum with a pram in tunics from white stuff

BelindaAllWorkedOut · 22/05/2014 06:45

Has anyone seen this in real life? I wonder if, being viscose, it won't be thick enough or will lose it's shape too quickly? I think the Me+Em ones are thick modal tablet.hm.com/gb/product/26923?article=26923-B

EduardoBarcelona · 22/05/2014 06:48

I bloody like

Floisme · 22/05/2014 07:14

I think I tried one of them and ran away screaming, Belinda. They're very flimsy.

Floisme · 22/05/2014 07:17

Actually it might not have been the same one cos it was in loads of different colours but it was very similar. Very short too. Scary stuff.

noddyholder · 22/05/2014 07:40

I have several beaded jackets vintage ones are best fit and quality look on eBay. I like kaftan dresses quite slim with a tan and frye boots.

noddyholder · 22/05/2014 07:42

Love that hm skirt really gorgeous will look today at the black one too. I think I saw it on one of the staff and if same one it's very nice

BelindaAllWorkedOut · 22/05/2014 08:13

The viscose one I linked to says its double layer, but I agree that it's the sort of skirt that could be very good. Or it could be horrid.

BelindaAllWorkedOut · 22/05/2014 08:15

noddy - I have spent HOURS trawling eBay. I am v dedicated in my pursuit of fashion Grin. Imagine if I was aiming for world peace, or something?

noddyholder · 22/05/2014 08:20

I meant the gold skirt. I am lucky with shops where I live lots of vintage and beaded jackets a gogo . I am going to get the Zara slit skirt today and another hm kimono t shirt which has been a surprise hit for me and £8

BelindaAllWorkedOut · 22/05/2014 08:33

Oh, right, Noddy, that gold skirt is so lovely. I think I will end up buying it.

Now, I have just done a spur of the moment, uncharacteristically spontaneous purchase. I'm not exactly a fan of this blog, but I saw this dress, and it's £14, and cute, so I bought it www.thelondoner.me/2014/05/date-night-sushi.html

noddyholder · 22/05/2014 08:38

I am finding a lot if success with cheaper stuff ATM bought some camouflage courts yesterday for a fiver to wear with skinny chinos and jean jacket www.everything5pounds.com/military-print-court-shoes-p-30396.html

BelindaAllWorkedOut · 22/05/2014 08:42

I agree - Gemma looks perfect in that outfit. Love. And look at her beautiful face. Lucky her.

I only want to spend on things I will wear to death, and going out stuff doesn't exactly fit that criteria [laments].

BelindaAllWorkedOut · 22/05/2014 08:43

Oh I need a little camouflage in my wardrobe - there is a gap.

noddyholder · 22/05/2014 13:27

Went a bit mad in Zara will post links later. Ruched skirt very cheapy material not nice at all. The gold one not there. All the longer fuller skirts were a lot nicer. Primark absolutely full of tube skirts so fear they are this summers gypsy skirt. Zara has a beaded shrug which is lovely. The Zara split skirt is great I know I will wear loads. More flattering on me than pencil.

noddyholder · 22/05/2014 13:47

lovely onover dress looked greatthis in redlove

RonaldMcDonald · 22/05/2014 14:08

I'm not sure about that Gemma Atherton skirt thang
looks like a massive swimming cap, like the shoes..I have no red shoes

i too am done with denim but that is because I was one almost status quo

Top shop stuff does seem to be more expensive than it should....some of the H&M linkys are vair nice

noddyholder · 22/05/2014 14:46

I looked at loads in h and m all looked nice but very weird fabrics up close Lots of shiny

noddyholder · 22/05/2014 14:49

Saw the patterned shorts they sort of dip at the back very nice colours

Stokey · 22/05/2014 15:13

Love the purchases Noddy particularly the blue top and skirt. Would the skirt work for work?

Not sure about the Londoners dress Belinda - the top is a bit too high and the skirt a bit too short IMO. Would not work with my boobs and curvy hips.

Although I am interested in finding nice summer dresses for nights out or something I can wear in Ibiza. My (small-breasted) friend advised bikini tops and skirts/shorts but don't think I can rock that look.

And the harem fans - don't they make your bum look big? (I would feel the Hammer time vibe too I think Ronald).

noddyholder · 22/05/2014 15:17

The blue top is my favourite. The skirt may be ok split quite high but not tarty at all. The top with the v back and front is lovely in the red its a deep orange really. I have very little bum unfortunately so am ok in harems.

BelindaAllWorkedOut · 22/05/2014 16:00

Frankly, I am too wobbly for harems, as they are usually thin material. I need to exercise / tone up before I try that sort of fabric.

Ah, Stokey you may be right re the dress. I hope not as I won't be returning a £14 dress to the US. Oh, maybe I should have stopped and thought a bit, first, which is what I normally do. Let's see - will report back.

I need a trying on session (which I will NOT be blogging about) in H&M for some fun / going out stuff. I haven't tried the gold skirt on, but loved it when I spied it at the Oxford Circus branch. Sounds like ruched skirt is to be avoided, though.

noddyholder · 22/05/2014 16:10

I never wear thin harems I would not look good in those! I am wearing a dress over skinnies today and I like it Navy silk shirt dress from gap dark skinnies and leopard trainers. Am trying to wear all my stuff ATM
