Okay. Instead of taking over the workwear thread. Ideas/pics for nice outfits for drinks and maybe a spot of dancing on summer evenings, please? Especially for those of us who quite like a bit of leg on show.

Oh dear re: knicker shorts.

Just had a charity shop trawl in the rain and bought a snake print Whistles-esque maxi skirt and a bright yellow full skirt, both for less than a tenner. Neither of them are, 'Going out' things though.

Need to decide what to wear tonight. It's still bucketing down and I'm still hungover from last night (even though I only had a few drinks / nothing to eat though, stupidly).

Think tonight will have to be jeans or skinny trews.

Snake print and yellow? Two of my favourites. I love charity shopping!

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 24/05/2014 15:48

:) I am stupidly pleased with them.

Sound great I also love charity shops!

I love the fact that I can still occasionally find cotton or silk things in them, when most of the real shops are full of polyester.

OK, night-out experts, I have a forthcoming evening event and I'm dithering about which direction to go wardrobe-wise.

It's a family wedding. But it's evening only (actual nuptials are in Vegas) so the usual frock and pashmina wedding shizz will be too formal. It's at a stuffy golf club. But there will be dancing, and possibly a bit of outdoor action. Tricky.....

BelindaAllWorkedOut · 24/05/2014 17:58

Am an enthusiast, but sadly not expert...

Had a thought: how about plain fitted dress w shoe string straps and beaded jacket (boho like) w strappy heels. Jacket for when outside, and take it off when roasting inside club?

Most of my party dresses are a bit short for summer wear sans opaques. I have a slinky Karen Millen number that could do the job, but might be a little on the tight side. I wore it to a MN do where I dimly recall dancing on a table but I have put on a pound or two since. My as-yet-unworn M&S black cage sandals might actually get their first outing.

Or.....I have some silvery ankle-skimmer trousers.....with black shell top and aforementioned footwear? Bit of statement jewellery....

As with many weddings there will be a mixture of conservatively dressed aged family and youthful ravers, with me somewhere in the middle.

i would wear something casually elegant rather than done up like a turkey
if you like trews and a top then get some in shiny favric maybe, cage shoes etc

CointreauVersial · 24/05/2014 23:43

Oh, casually elegant is my middle name. Grin
