Thank you Marsha.

Well done One, it's great when you 'see' the results. You have had a lot going on recently, so I'm sure you didn't need the extra stress today. Glad it got sorted.

MarshaBrady · 16/05/2014 19:28

Oh Linus we'll be so lovely, and ply you with fizz and be extra lovely because you flew in... is it working yet? Grin (we will though)

shopafrolic · 16/05/2014 20:08

Linus please come. Everyone is so lovely, and everyone gets on so well. I really want to meet you. I can always meet you for a coffee earlier on if that feels easier pre lunch. Do come!
Marsha I love Space NK. The staff are all make up artists so really now their stuff. Happy to accompany..... What are you after.

MarshaBrady · 16/05/2014 20:22

Yes Linus please do!

Shop after all your lovely foundation recommendations I've finally got the time to get that, so a really good very light foundation, and some nice mascara. That's about all I need. I've still got Nars blusher and Chanel something that is some sort of primer that I never really understood what it does, does anyone have it Le Blanc Chanel.

MarshaBrady · 16/05/2014 20:23

Actually I'm going to check out your make up board, you had fab stuff on there. Might inspire me!

shopafrolic · 16/05/2014 20:29

Armani are supposed to have an amazing light foundation ATM. I really rate my By terry mascara but I know some people find it runs. I've had no issues......

MarshaBrady · 16/05/2014 20:30

Ooh good one, will ask for Armani, thanks and By Terry always sounded great to me.

LinusDKD · 16/05/2014 20:36

I will do my best guys!

marsha I think the one all the beauty bloggers rave about is Armani Luminous silk but apparently Nars have a really great foundation as well and so does By Terry.

Chanel Vitalumiere Aqua is something I like as a lighter alternative. I rarely wear foundation and in summer I usually don't even wear tinted moisturiser but the Vitalumiere Aqua is lovely and smells gorgeous.

I often change mascara but at the moment I love the YSL Babydoll mascars.

Oh and if you need a nice eyeliner/eyeshadow I am currently addicted to By Terry Ombre Blackstar shadow sticks. My favourite is Brown Perfection at the moment but I have a couple of other colours as well.

But be warned, By Terry is £££

LinusDKD · 16/05/2014 20:37

Mascars? Mascara I mean!

MarshaBrady · 16/05/2014 20:38

Thanks Linus yes I'm a bit wary of the By Terry price tag! I already use chanel vitalumiere aqua, it is lovely, but perhaps it's now the wrong colour as I bought it in winter so feels off. It is nice though and have run out.

Drywhiteplease · 16/05/2014 20:56

Blair those boots are fabulous!
linus you ARE coming to MU! You MUST, really want to meet you too. Honestly it's so lovely. I've only been to one but it's like meeting old friends. Not scary at all. I'll be hungover and looking rough so sit next to me, you'll look amazing compared to me Grin
Marsha I did change for lunch ( silver flat sling backs, gap straight cut jeans worn turned up for a slim bf look, FCUK guipure cream shell top old but lovely new jacket and my baby felt great! hot! jacket came off quickly....such lovely weather.)

Anber how are your Boden silver sling backs wearing? Do you wear them a lot? Needless to say my £28 but actually £12 Next ones are not going to last the summer. I've worn them a lot and am wondering whether I should just get the B ones.

Drywhiteplease · 16/05/2014 20:57

And Shop love your outfit today

Topazandpearl · 16/05/2014 21:05

Yes Linus please come. It will be my first MU too and will be glad to not be the only newbie! (Not that the rest of you sound scary at all!).

I really must take inspiration from you all as I tend to hate make-up shopping, so tend to go for 'more of the same' as it is easier. I think I always feel that I am being given the hard-sell and am then annoyed with myself for falling for it.

shopafrolic · 16/05/2014 21:12

Early night for me, need to get up early tomorrow for hair appt so will say night. New sofa is fab, and TV is brill. Just started watching Scandal which looks promising. I finished the first series of Mad Men last night and loved it.

It's goodnight from me as well. Knackered and DS will be up early again tomorrow morning. Sad

BlairWaldorfLovesShopping · 16/05/2014 21:20

Night shop and hope you have a nice time tomorrow.

Topaz, mara and I are MU newbies too! But yes of course Linus must come. I'm starting to really look forward to it (as opposed to just being a bit nervous!) Your NY trip sounds fabulous, I have never been but it's high on the list of where to go next.

Dry I pictured your outfit in my head and it looks amazing!

BlairWaldorfLovesShopping · 16/05/2014 21:20

X post and night Linus too :)

QueenCadbury · 16/05/2014 21:29

Hello!!! I've had a manically busy week and haven't had much time for mn Shock. Haven't caught up with the thread properly but hope you're all well...?

Quick question...if you were going to a family gathering tomorrow what would you wear? It's dh extended family but dh can't go as he's on call (meaning I'll have to chase the dc around!) and I think it will be quite a big get together and I will know no-one except PIL and SIL/BIL. And it'll be a 3 or 4 hour round trip. It's at a village hall so hopefully should be a fairly relaxed affair.

Drywhiteplease · 16/05/2014 21:39

Well Qc you work the 7/8 trouser, pretty top and ballets look v well.....it's a look that can be smart or casual depending on how you accessorise. Alternatively a dress? Maxi? Off to look at your wardrobe pin board..........
Blair that's a big compliment from someone will such cool shoes! Smile when you meet me you'll be surprised at what an old trout I am!

Drywhiteplease · 16/05/2014 21:40

Oh drat Queenie you don't have a wardrobe in board!!!!!

QueenCadbury · 16/05/2014 21:43

I do dry but it's secret Grin. Would you do trousers then and not jeans? It's the whole being over dressed/underdressed thing. I'm panicking because I don't want to go Grin

maradesbois · 16/05/2014 21:44

blair I am so looking forward to the mu too, just know from the tone of the thread that you'll all be lovely.

topaz NY is amazing. Loads of walking though so make sure you take shoes that can cope. Glad that 5:2 is working so well for you and linus, you've given me added inspiration to stick to it.

QueenCadbury · 16/05/2014 21:49

Ooh topaz are you off to NY. I would live to go back there. It holds special memories as we got engaged there Smile.

QueenCadbury · 16/05/2014 21:49

Love to go back. I would not live there!

Drywhiteplease · 16/05/2014 21:58

If your in law family you're v good to go without DH are anything like mine jeans would be v frowned on, but really depends on the occasion.
I hate being under dressed never knowingly underdressed me Wink so would err on the side of caution and wear trousers.

I'm a little bit taken with block heels. Saw these today! really don't need them so, rather cunningly suggested my friend buy these, kind aren't i?Grin and just look at these beauties.
these are lovely and I'd have been v tempted by the black if it wasn't for the patent
