Stokey always relish the asleep child Grin

What a day. Client call, was good, took dc to gps by traversing London. Going for what will be a very much enjoyed drink now in town. Weekend of festivities so that's good!

MarshaBrady · 30/05/2014 17:43

Hey SoyYo good to see you.

shopafrolic · 30/05/2014 17:44

Thanks Stokey - I'm often found trapped in my car on the street where we live with DS fast asleep in the back. Sometimes DH brings me a cuppa! :)

Hiya Marsha!
LOL @ Shop and Stokey I used to do the same thing specially with DS2 (the one who is getting the Apple computer which must be gold plated!) the only thing that would calm him down was a good long car drive!! And gingerly waiting...daring? take him out lest the tired wailing restarted.
He is turning out to be a nice young man (even if he still wails with his rock band!).
So...I think I am nearly ready for the weekend, and had haircut and pedi this week to keep up with my chic Parisian colleagues! Wink
Have a great weekend everyone x

shopafrolic · 30/05/2014 18:03

Marsha have fun lovely x

Hi all! Wow, lots to catch up on, but still the same thread as when I left a week ago. I'm totally knackered after flying back last night, but it's so worth it, was definitely the best holiday of my life! Fedup I have lots of Vegas tips for you, including where to shop Grin

Ok so onto purchases... I somehow picked a good time to be in the US as there were lots of great discounts for Memorial Day weekend, and pre sales started the day we arrived too. I've pinned nearly everything here. 2 Splendid t-shirts, 3 J Crew t-shirts, J crew necklace, DKNY Cozy cardigan, tan Gigis, a floppy straw hat from Gap and my big bag purchase. I went for the blue colour block Reed Krakoff Boxer, which I got with 40% off, so am very pleased with that Grin So my sales shopping is well underway.

I did buy another pair of gigis on the first day but I left them in a taxi and didn't realise until the next morning, oops :(

Phew, it feels like I haven't had any purchases to report for ages, so hopefully I've made up for it now...!

Ok off to read the thread, hope everyone's had a great week.

BrandyAlexander · 30/05/2014 18:11

Hello! After coat gate I must be mad but thoughts on this dress?

Also Marsha, ages did you link a Marant "Good Morning Tokyo" top?

OneLittleLady · 30/05/2014 18:14

Dp got the London job! Don't know the details yet but he was offered it formally and has accepted so long term, one is moving to London! (after uni of course)

BrandyAlexander · 30/05/2014 18:15

Great news!!!!ThanksThanksThanks

SoyYo · 30/05/2014 18:25

Congratulations One!!
Blair the gigis are so sweet! And the Reed Krakoff tote is perfection!
Glad you had a fab time and picked up lovely bargains.

Drywhiteplease · 30/05/2014 18:29

Stokey sounds like completely normal parenting to meSmile... What would be mad would be to go to your car to make a call leaving fighting dcs in house --never done that!-
Blair fantastic haul. Welcome home.
Novice you know how I love an exposed zip as much as QueenC hates them knowing your lovely DH the zip might just send him over the edge Grin GET IT I guarantee you won't leave the house Wink

Ok I will need group therapy over the next 3 months ladies.....my house is so covered in scaffolding it's resembling a concert stage at Wembley Stadium, it's disappearing and I'm feeling a bit stressed not a good time to consider giving up booze

Well done One

BrandyAlexander · 30/05/2014 18:40

DryGrinGrinGrin love your thinking, I hadn't even thought of the dh aspect of the dressWink dh would die if he realised you know him wellBlush

I love this top and would so get it if I was long waistedEnvy

LinusDKD · 30/05/2014 19:15

Get the dress novice it is gorgeous.

dry why do you want to give up the booze???

mara the fast diet just seems to work for me but I know it's not for everyone.

stokey I have done that with both DC in the past (even on a hot day but then the car was in the shade and all the windows were open). I often just sat on a stool next to the car with my Ipad enjoying some peace and quiet.

Congratulations one! Your DP must be so excited!

blair I also bought a DKNY cozy in NY last year.

Drywhiteplease · 30/05/2014 19:17

I have 3hrs at the Trafford centre tomorrow before taking my perfect concert bag hands free for waving my mobile phone and dancing Gucci Disco and DD to One D concert. Rather excited about both events Grin . Hmm what to wear?
Marsha hope you're having a great evening

Drywhiteplease · 30/05/2014 19:19

linus because I've put one little bit wine Clinks glass with wine buddy,Santé! Grin

BlairWaldorfLovesShopping · 30/05/2014 19:23

Well done OneDP, how exciting for you both.

Ok have read through, too many nice links to mention each one. santa's shoes, Amber's new baby Rocco and novice's coat all stand out as being seriously fab Envy

Glad everyone else who has been away had fun QueenC, Amber, novice, liberty, SoyYo (hope I didn't miss anyone) and hope Sleep and Topaz also had a great time.

Wish I could have taken more money to the US, the Burberry outlet had long camel trenches for 30% off and there were so many nice bags (and rockstuds!) in the pre sales.
It was also v interesting to note that a large proportion of women (in the nicer hotels) had a Chanel bag (including Chinese young women) while pretty much everyone else had blingy Michael Kors. Not much variation at all, all about the labels!

novice get the dress!

LinusDKD · 30/05/2014 19:30

Am just putting this on my nails.

Maybe I've watched too many twentysomething beauty bloggers, but I couldn't resist.

DH has taken one look at my nails and sighed. Grin

Drywhiteplease · 30/05/2014 19:32

GOOD GOD my private film of DH and moi has been leaked what? I said "MRDRY will you please change those hideous white trousers to a darker pair half way through! and while you're at it my winter tyres need changing" ....the spinning classes are paying off but not sure of the quality if the darker swimming costume, seems to be falling apartShock

QueenCadbury · 30/05/2014 19:53

dry you know me well! As predicted, I was going to say, nice dress, shame about the zip! novice I'm afraid my dirty mind also thought the same as drys and that you hubby would love it Grin.

Welcome back everyone. Glad you all had good hols and purchases.

LinusDKD · 30/05/2014 20:56

dry lol!

I wonder if D. Gandy will become Mr. Lopez no. 4? She does have form for dating and marrying back-up dancers/co-workers.

Drywhiteplease · 30/05/2014 21:13

Bit cringe worthy isn't it? Poor Ben Af had his head turned ....but bought her an amazing novice-worthy engagement ring.

shopafrolic · 30/05/2014 21:44

novice swoon at the Dress
Blair sounds as though you've had a fab trip - off to look at Pin
one yay for DP, an exciting adventure for you both
Dry you know this will be One Directions last tour right? Make sure your DD makes the most of it! Naughty boys!

libertychick · 30/05/2014 22:03

lol Dry

Good call on the bag Blair, love it. What a PITA re the lost Gigi's but the ones you did bring home are lovely.

Well done to your DP one, exciting times ahead for you both.

Ok, this isn't S&B but I need ideas. DH hasn't had a night out in ages and a mutual male friend is visiting us from 11th till 16th June and I'd like to book or organise a night out for the two of them. Theatre/ballet/opera is a no no! They both like music and have wide ranging tastes, comedy would be perfect - it's been so long since I organised a night out in London for anyone I don't know where to start - all ideas welcome. I like the idea of sending them off 'somewhere' for food with tickets for 'something' and suggestions for a good bar/pub for afters...

shopafrolic · 30/05/2014 22:13

Liberty the Culture section of the Sunday times usually lists lots of London shows and comedy clubs. Might be worth a look?
Wine tasting at Vinopolis is always good and there are some great restaurants nearby........
Spitalfields Music Festival is on. Jazz Cafe is always worth a look for good live music......

OP posts:
libertychick · 30/05/2014 22:23

Thanks Shop. I'm actually flicking through last week's ST culture section for inspiration. Wine tasting is a v good idea, something they are both into and Jazz Cafe is a good idea too...Flowers Spitalfields looks good but DH won't travel that far!
