Like you dry I did nct to meet friends. I miss them now I'm not living there but I'm still facebook friends with them all. I've been really lucky to make lots f fab friends here though in the 4 years we've been here. Have a fab night. You too marsha.

lolli I love Cadbury purple but with black it may look a bit winter-y so maybe pink will be better. Hope you feel better soon.

sleep love the website. And love the testimonials!

So, opinions on these bags please...

Hello! Does anyone remember coat gate last winter when I was totally obsessed with getting a MaxMara cashmere coat?Hmm

So it turns out the secret to getting these things in my size is to buy them in May!Hmm

I can get www.matchesfashion.com/product/179896 this blue coat]] which although is £1,945, Matches have sent me a code (happy to share though it says it's unique?) which gives me 30% off, which makes it £1,361.50. My only reservation about the coat is whether the big pockets might drown me (remember I am 5'1-ish).

Alternatively, I can get this coat which is £1,885 and no discount so it's £500 more. I think this coat might be more me because of my hourglass but petite shape? Selfridges normally send me a discount but it might not cover this coat when they do.

I can pay the extra £500 but I do like a bargain.Blush I don't want to just get the Matches one if I am deluding myself that I am all gazelle long legs like Marsha and Shop.Envy Which do you think will suit best?

BrandyAlexander · 22/05/2014 21:46

Ooh weird, sorry!

maradesbois · 22/05/2014 21:48

blair have a great time in Vegas. If you have a g

lollipop hope you're feeling a bit better and that the interview gives you a positive boost.

linus I love seersucker, have a navy and white blazer from zara that have been wearing for years. Also love it for dc, got ds a blue seersucker hat and yellow shorts in jacadi this week, so cute. The sa seemed to think that jacadi had opened a store in London, don't know if any of you locals know if that's correct? Love, love that shop, dh has tried to ban me from going near!

dry girlfriends are fab. I didn't do nct as thought it seemed like information overkill but later regretted not doing so for the social side. Have still however met a whole new bunch of mum friends where we live, great people who have become friends for life that would never had has the occasion to bump into otherwise. Friends are so important and what I'll miss most of all when we move to London. Loads of my friends are international though so don't meet up that often plus have the MNV mu to look forward to!

Secretsquirrel13 · 22/05/2014 21:49

Dry and Marsha hope you're having good evenings.
Sleep congrats fab website
Linus I may have acquired a pair but they may be too small, still stalking the site constantly (and wondering how stretchy they are??)
QueenC the second link goes to the MV bag page but if it's the Jessica then I prefer it by a long way.
Shop I like the skinny minis
Some of my beloved linen tees have holes in or have gone out of shape. I remember lurking a lot last summer and reading about the perfect slouchy t, I think it was found but cannot remember where from although j crew springs to mind. So my question if the week is where does the perfect slouchy t come from?

Secretsquirrel13 · 22/05/2014 21:54

I also avoided nct pre birth as tried to avoid anything that might discuss pain or gore or how it may actually come outGrin but did tag along to a friends baby group after and still have contact with them now. You realise a lot lot later that the babies and the life event are the common bond that holds the groups together unless you are lucky like Dry and Marsha to meet a great bunch if people.

maradesbois · 22/05/2014 21:57

novice my best friend is a slim 5' and I think the selfridges one would look amazing on her whereas the matches one could drown a petite frame. For an investment purchase like that you have to love it. Both gorgeous coats though, I dream of a maxmara camel one and may have to go for it this winter.

Secretsquirrel13 · 22/05/2014 21:59

Novice- selfridges

shopafrolic · 22/05/2014 21:59

Novice I think the second, more ££££ one will definitely suit you more. Sorry!
Secret J Crew vintage cotton or linen tees are fab. Wash at 30 with non bio and they look fab after multiple washes. Worth the ££ and sometimes on the Outnet, or in the J Crew sale section online.
Dry that a fab bunch. Hope they are all in good form tonight and that you have fun
Marsha hope you're having a fab time, what did you wear?
Loli I agree with the others, pink would be good.
QueenC assuming it's the Jessica cross body bag on the MV site then that's the one I prefer.
We had 7 couples in our NCT group. We're all still in contact but a couple are starting to drift now three years on. The rest will be friends for life I hope.

Novice- selfridges

maradesbois · 22/05/2014 22:01

queenc I second secret for the MV Jessica, also prefer it by a long way.

libertychick · 22/05/2014 22:06

Another vote here for coat 2 novice much better shape for you I think.

BrandyAlexander · 22/05/2014 22:25

Yup you're all right! Thank youThanks Might have to sneak it on the secret credit card.Blush

I agree with everyone on QueenC's bag (those bags are lovely! Noted for future referenceWink), pink top for Lolli and glad Shop came along to answer the slouch tee question!

My NCT group was tiny. 4 couples including us. I was gutted because the other 3 girls seemed to bond the first couple of months when I was basically stuck indoors barely able to move with my third degree tear. Then after that i was nervous about driving any sort of distance in the car (terrible parker!) so gradually got excluded. Then when I went back to work p/t at 4 months i was cut off! Made me really sad till years later I eventually realised that I have enough friends I struggle to keep up with!

BrandyAlexander · 22/05/2014 22:30

Ps, I kind of wanted for you to all vote 1 as the extra £500 would fund my new summer work shoesGrin

I usually get an 8 in coats for all the layers underneath. If I didn't have layers then 6 is better. I need to be practical right?

OneLittleLady · 22/05/2014 22:42

I agree about the 2nd coat being better novice though they are both lovely

Have been hanging out in _chat and there's a swap thread where I've swapped some bits and pieces for things I'd like more. Very happy that the clothes I've swapped are going to people who will get a lot of use out of them. i need to do some more clothes shopping actually as I haven't got a single pair of jeans that fit properly, they are all too big on the waist and baggy on bum, thighs and knees!

Waist is now down to 29.5 inches! that's from 36.5 inches when I started my work with sleep late on last year Grin

Drywhiteplease · 22/05/2014 23:13

Y aqui número dos ...ole.

novice and Queenc number 2 from Espana/up north.

Drywhiteplease · 22/05/2014 23:13
Grin
justasecond · 22/05/2014 23:18

Novice Defo the second one for you. I really like the first one too but think the more structured style of the second will suit a petite frame better. Love the rockstuds too they are just lush.
One exciting re Florida!
Blair bon voyage!
Marsha and Dry hope you are having lovely evenings. I really should make more effort to meet up with friends but I just don't know where the time goes and I am really bad at keeping in touch (which you have prob noticed about me!)
Sleep the website looks really good. I hope its a great success.
Lolli The pink shirt sounds great and good luck.
Shop I love the pics of your bag its just gorgeous!
Linus I really like the harem trousers be bold and wear them outside.
I am off on hols next week and have done zero packing for me or the dcs yet. I have been nagging DH to get the suitcases down from the attic for me for days now. I have loft ladder phobia Grin
Hope I have not missed anyone be back tomorow.

Turquoiseblue · 22/05/2014 23:36

Night everyone! Skim read and off to sleep now but Blair and topaz hope you both are having wonderful trips! (And shopping)
Sleep congrats and site looks great,
Novice - hope you feel brighter ASAP, didn't click on links as flying through so no good for comment but of remember you really wanted that coat so glad you found it.

One - yeay! exciting times ahead for you
Shop - have you taken anya on an outing yet? Hope ds is ok

Queen like the idea of white shorts (tanned legs tho)

MarshaBrady · 23/05/2014 05:52

Morning. Oh my what a night. Out with dh's friends 23 and upwards. It was great fun and I got blotto. I've been in the dc world so long it's funny to be with predc young uns. Nice too.

I say NCT but I didn't actually do it. I met my group of friends at a bf'ding workshop in hospital and I asked me to join them for coffee. We celebrated our dc first year together with lots of parties. But then everyone moved (schools mostly) which isn't happening as much in SE now.

LinusDKD · 23/05/2014 06:35

Morning.

novice definitely go for the second coat. Much more flattering, I would go for that one as well as a fellow shortie.

queenc the Jessica is a really lovely bag. Not keen on the first one, sorry.

MarshaBrady · 23/05/2014 06:45

My nonsensical post, they asked me to join them.

Shop I wore my Marant check shirt, pale mini and Bruno navy shoe boots. Pretty casual.

Justa holiday sounds great, where are you going?

QueenCadbury · 23/05/2014 07:07

Morning. Thanks for the bag votes. I knew you'd all go for the Jessica Grin. The white stuff one if a fab little bag and great price but the problem is that it's just too little. It would be great on the school run to just put phone/keys in but useless for much else so it's going back. I don't possess the Jessica yet but it's on order as I was having a shitty time with dc yesterday that dh said order a handbag. I don't think he expected me to take him to his word though and then was a bit Hmm when he got home and realised I'd ordered it. As both cars had MOTs yesterday he's persuaded me that it needs to go back. Which I'm kind of ok with as I love it but I'm not sure that it's really the one in terms of size (think it may be too big!). I'm a bit of a fusspot when it comes to bags aren't i Grin

Anyway, told you I'd bore you all!!

novice definitely the second.

shopafrolic · 23/05/2014 09:23

Morning all!
Good to see you can still keep up with the kids Marsha Wink. Sounds like a fun night.
Dry you should be a Eurovision presenter with your awesome linguistic skills. Hope you had a great time.
First outing for Anya and I today, now that she has been Collonilled to within an inch of her life. Such an awesome bag, so pleased you all persuaded me Thanks again.
Yesterday I put Collonil leather cream on some of my Mulberry accessories, purses, make up bags etc, and they have come up really well so will last me a good while longer.
My Mulberry Bayswater bag now has over 30 watchers on EBay so I'm keeping everything crossed for Sunday.......
