Linus harem trousers could be fun, but jumpsuit...not sure. You could always try and return if not for you. It is always good to shake things up a bit (hence my recent obsession with getting the perfect leather jackets, the ones in my wardrobe were not doing it for me).

Shop link to your ebay auction page, though I am afraid you are probably too tiny for me to bid (size 14 here, unless it is Next jeans which are HUGE in which case I can smile at being a 12, also Boden trousers/jeans seem to come up big on me and vary between a 12 and 14).

Blair DH and I are going to New York. It is a first for both of us though he has been through on business trips. It is a special occasion (25th anniversary!) and we are flying business class (don't know if I am more excited about that than anything).

Famous people - DH once met Donald Sutherland in business lounge at the airport. DS started talking to DH as DH had his iPad and DS was interested (this was a few years ago when they were quite new). DH said that he was very pleasant. They were on the same flight and continued to chat on the plane.

Poor Shop I have been there with water all over the floor from washing machine. Worst thing was that it had been leaking for a while at the back and we ended up having to replace the flooring.

One I hope your leg is better and that you are managing to rest it.

Fedup, SoyYo, I use the Boots curl creme too but will now try it on wet rather than towel dried hair.

Thanks for the Figleaves link SoyYo, I am tempted to treat myself to a new bikini for the summer (but not til after NY). I am 51 and for years thought that I couldn't wear one. Then I realised that most European women from other countries seem much less self-conscious and happily wear bikinis no matter what age or size they are, and a properly fitted one with a high waist can flatter as much, if not more, than a swimsuit.

I know there is more I was going to say but if I go back a page I will lose this, so hi to everyone (anyway it is long enough).

SoyYo · 20/05/2014 17:40

Topaz I should consider bikinis... I am just a little bashful (and really did have a great bikini bod in my youth so now it just feels wrong) but you are right.

Your trip to NY sounds Fab!!!!
Last year DH and I returned to Koh Samui in Thailand for our 25th anniversary, it has changed so much from those backpacking days when we first visited (88) and had to take trains, coaches, ferries to reach it. Having said that no resident cockroaches to kill (long story from 88 trip) as we stayed in 5 star spa villa luxury. Grin

Even there I wore my swimsuits and tbh I could easily have got away with a bikini judging by other people on the beach...
There are after all some benefits in getting older with grown up children...DS2 (nearly 18) said we are "re-living our twenties" as we are out partying or beach combing most weekends these days...

Drywhiteplease · 20/05/2014 17:40

Queenc your DH must be my long lost brother!!!
Shop very impressive list....did you song them all?Shock
linus thought you'd like the dress....I sent it back because I don't trust myself with white. Great for the price.

Decameron · 20/05/2014 17:53

Topazandpearl, have a great time! NY is wonderful. Happy anniversary. Thanks

shopafrolic · 20/05/2014 18:21

Assuming you meant snog Dry the answer is no! Just Ryan Giggs on my 21st birthday!

So after all my swearing off Wang bags I sort of ordered this today. I will be scrutinizing it carefully before deciding to keep!!

SoyYo · 20/05/2014 18:35

Amber, that is a very very nice bag. I am not getting into that too! (Specially not with my vet bills right now, just lost my temper with Tesco pet insurance).

Shop I had to google Ryan Giggs as I didnt have a clue who he is Blush nice looking soccer chap.

I am working away after today, will try and keep up with the chats.

LinusDKD · 20/05/2014 19:38

Quick question for amber: what is Goldsign sizing like?

I wear a 28 in Topshop Leigh jeans at the moment but they are starting to get a bit big.

Decameron · 20/05/2014 20:03

Goldsign is big, I wear a 27 in them, usually a 28 or 29 in J Brand Paige etc.

Secretsquirrel13 · 20/05/2014 20:24

Linus. Like those tile print Leighs a lot, may have to track some down to try, what's sizing like?
I love harems and I'm a short pear shape, I think it's what you wear with them that balances out the pear-ness that helps. I have also contemplated a harem jumpsuit for holiday wear.

shopafrolic · 20/05/2014 20:31

LOL at Googling SoYo
He used to be a nice looking soccer chap in the 90s - turned out to be a horrible cheating love rat to his wife in the noughties Hmm

LinusDKD · 20/05/2014 20:37

Thanks decam! Am tempted by a Goldsign pair but I should replace my Jimmies again as they are starting to get a bit big.

Do you rate Goldsign?

secret I ordered a 28 in the tile Leighs as my other Leighs are that size.

The older Leighs are starting to get a teensy bit big but the tile ones are tighter, especially around the waist.

Maybe because the older ones have stretched a bit over the months or maybe the fabric composition is slightly different.

Mmm harems. I might try on a cheap pair at H&M to see whether I end up looking like MC Hammer. Grin

shopafrolic · 20/05/2014 20:47

Linus I might have to keep getting your Jimmies cast offs if you keep shrinking and then I do! I am going to have to move the ones you gave me on as they are now too big for me. They can become the MNV shared jeans! Any takers to have them next?
Not sure about harems - I keep thinking I'll try them and then don't dare - they look comfy though.

Provence booked for July :)

LinusDKD · 20/05/2014 20:49

Ok, just ordered these

I have been meaning to try them for ages so I hope they are perfect.

You'll be the first to know when I get rid of my Jimmies shop but you a are probably slimmer than me atm.

LinusDKD · 20/05/2014 20:50

Provence shop? Where are you going? I love Provence!

LinusDKD · 20/05/2014 20:56

one how are you feeling now?

QueenCadbury · 20/05/2014 21:02

Evening all. Dh has finally persuaded me to join him on the 5:2 diet. Today was my first fast day and I feel great. So much energy and didn't get cranky like I thought I would. Is this just beginners luck?

I took my client shopping today and bought myself a little purchase of this top. Got 20% off so v happy with it. Just hope it washes ok. After buying my expensive jaegar white broderie expensive top last year (which I'm too scared to wear!) I only now buy cheap white tops so I can't get upset if I ruin them!

Who asked about harems and jumpsuits? I would love a jumpsuit but I've never found one irl that I've wanted to try on.

Nice bag amber

shopafrolic · 20/05/2014 21:08

Perfect bag Amber - love it
We're off to Carpentras Linus to stay with friends. I've never been to the region.

LinusDKD · 20/05/2014 21:19

I haven't been to that part of Provence but I am sure it's going to be wonderful!

OneLittleLady · 20/05/2014 21:33

feeling a bit better now though my foot is still quite swollen.

BlairWaldorfLovesShopping · 20/05/2014 21:40

Topaz that sounds lovely, I hope you have a great time and happy anniversary!

Linus not sure if you can easily get Hush delivered where you are, but I'm a short legged pear and I'm really impressed with their harems, they seem quite slim cut as opposed to baggy.
Oh and those Goldsigns in that wash are my go to jeans, I've had them a couple of years and it feels like I've worn them nearly every day! I hope you find them as good because they are amazing.

Provence shop Envy

Nice top QueenC and awesome bag Amber!

Today is my last day of the 5:2 diet QueenC :) (for a while at least, ha!) I found the first 2 weeks hard, then got used to it and felt "cleaner" inside on fast days.

Drywhiteplease · 20/05/2014 21:45

Topaz and SoyYo interesting about bikinis. Can't remember the last time I wore one. Feel so exposed and have a very white tummy. But, like you Topaz, when I look around on holiday I see women older and bigger than me in them looking ok. Ridiculous hang up.......think 40bum wrote about what would her 60/70 year old self say to her now (for her it was get your legs out). For me it would be "why didn't you wear more bikinis?" and have more boyfriends when you were younger

Drywhiteplease · 20/05/2014 21:46

Provence will be lovely Shop... I can see you wafting around in denim shorts, Demi tucked t shirts, Gigis , straw hat and sunnies with chilled rose in your hand..........

QueenCadbury · 20/05/2014 21:51

I wear a bikini if abroad but not sure I would in uk.

Does anyone own white shorts? Not sure why but I suddenly have an obsession with them and imagine myself wafting about in a pair with a navy top looking tres chic I'm sure the reality of white shorts with white legs would be v different
