Let's talk workwear. Maybe a little bit of non workwear fashion chat, too.

My blog is at theworkwearedit.com but our chat goes above and beyond that.

Linen trousers - nope, I don't think so, in all honesty. Or not on me, anyway.

BillStickersIsInnocent · 16/05/2014 21:38

I'm here and pissed too.

BillStickersIsInnocent · 16/05/2014 21:39

Leggings, tunics, drug bun bingo?

suze28 · 16/05/2014 21:40

It's a fine line isn't it, I might have a navy pair that may worm their way out of the wardrobe for work this wk.

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 16/05/2014 21:41

I think if you're tall and not prone to too much crumpling, maybe. I am little and can look like a mad cat lady even in a fitted suit, so no hope for me.

BillStickersIsInnocent · 16/05/2014 21:42

I have a navy pair, cropped, fitted. They're great in the morning but look crap by home time. And a white pair, what possessed me I don't know. Will dye them possibly.

suze28 · 16/05/2014 21:43

White Stuff will be losing out massively if the long tunic/leggings combo is now out of favour.

BillStickersIsInnocent · 16/05/2014 21:45

White Stuff. Why do they do so well

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 16/05/2014 21:45

Hello, Suze! YY re White Stuff - tis all too droopy for little me.

BillStickersIsInnocent · 16/05/2014 21:47

Ok. So if I gave you 1k and you had to buy clothes/shoes/accessories what would you buy?

suze28 · 16/05/2014 21:49

White Stuff - I do like, and buy in the sale, their coloured cardigans for the summer.
Some of the other stuff eg the dresses scream WS and can be spotted a mile off.

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 16/05/2014 21:54

£1000 =

2 VW dresses = £400
2 VW tops = £250-ish
(would only buy at sale prices)
The rest on fripperies, to include some new shoes.

BillStickersIsInnocent · 16/05/2014 21:58

Like this?

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 16/05/2014 22:01

Neckline a bit high on that one.

This one

suze28 · 16/05/2014 22:04

Sharp intake of breath. Love that one, I can see where Baukjen copy their style from.

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 16/05/2014 22:04

:)

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 16/05/2014 22:04

Tights are a bit much though!

BillStickersIsInnocent · 16/05/2014 22:06

Gorgeous

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 16/05/2014 22:07

I have v similar but with short sleeves.

BillStickersIsInnocent · 16/05/2014 22:09

I'd want a beautiful bag for work. I have a hankering for a mulberry but I think they are a bit passé now. I live near an outlet and the markdowns are crazy. For the shit stuff. I saw a rabbit fur dress down to £50 from £800.

BillStickersIsInnocent · 16/05/2014 22:10

What's the fabric like Remus?

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 16/05/2014 22:12

Fabric is pretty bog standard jersey, but the cut is really good.

Re bags - I don't get the whole expensive bag thing thb. My favourite work bag is a leather tote from Clarks.

BelindaAllWorkedOut · 16/05/2014 22:13

No to linen, it creases appallingly. I have only ever seen it work as a couch cover.

£1k on workwear? Ok, I can do that!

  • the Lucy Choi Marylebone shoes I blogged: £200
  • various Zara necklaces: £100
  • bespoke wool suit. I should say that I would buy off the rack, but having a suit made just exactly the way I like it (double vent, functional buttons, fun (joking!) lining) would be fabulous. If I couldn't get bespoke, then I would buy the very best off the rack one I could find and have it altered.

Since, what's that you say?, I have another £1k to spend, I would buy some more gorgeous shoes, from LK BENNETT (Floret) and a Cos scarf. Or maybe a Smythson bag.

Oh, and DH is my IT staff are at a pub busy, so I don't like my chances of being able to fix the website this weekend, but thanks for letting me know what the issues are.

I love that dress.

Bought Duck egg blue/greys kale skimming skinny trousers. And a bright banana yellow floaty sleeveless top from Dorothy Perkins today. Not to be worn together. But really nice.

Just need shoes to wear with trousers. Am 5'10 not sure if heels will work. Or whether I need pointy flatties.

Also re white stuff. I bought a few Tshirts from there before holidays. Really good quality.
