Let's talk workwear. Maybe a little bit of non workwear fashion chat, too.

My blog is at theworkwearedit.com but our chat goes above and beyond that.

Glad you like the trews! Was the sizing okay then?

Our school is NOT casual but I think I could wear sandals. Any recs for mid heeled ones in black or tan?

Bearleigh · 14/06/2014 15:54

Yes I wear sandals to work. Planning on having blue toenails next week...

That PerUna coat looks good, but then reading the comments it comes up enormous: such a shame.

That Lisa Armstrong article was strange. As you say Belinda she said some sensible things but then the clothes she featured were suitable only for the office of a fashion magazine. In fact now you come to mention it when she used to feature clothes on herself in Saturday's DT, she chose some odd things. But it is the first mention of workwear I have seen for ages.

www.zara.com/uk/en/new-this-week/woman/crossover-jumpsuit-c363008p2078060.html this is what I got is lovely on. Anyone seen any high strappy black sandals but not £££ saw some cage type in KG but too much for the amount I will wear them

Bearleigh · 14/06/2014 16:31

Noddy did you have a look in Zara itself? They have some nice ones online.

I don't normally go for wacky shoes but I really like these (featured in the Guardian today):

Bearleigh · 14/06/2014 16:31

Ps that is a very nice jumpsuit!

BelindaAllWorkedOut · 14/06/2014 16:50

Those Zara shoes are fierce. If they weren't so high, I would buy more of their shoes. They are sort of Sophia Webster for less, that particular pair.

Bearleigh - one of the reasons that I thought my blog might be good is that every single workwear feature I had seen in a magazine seemed to suggest £600 polyester, funky pieces. So, things that were too expensive and not appropriate. Maybe fine if you worked in fashion, but not at all suitable for most workplaces. Hmm, that sounds a bit sanctimonious of me, but I'm sure you know what I mean.

These. www.kurtgeiger.com/nina-black-suede-suede-41-kg-kurt-geiger-shoe.html. I bought them in the leopard print version, in the last sale, for £30. Shoeaholics website might have some?

Oh I love those but they weren't in zara today I did look at shoes. Also love the KG have similar cheaper ones maybe not as nice though :)

BelindaAllWorkedOut · 15/06/2014 10:05

These Jasper Conran ponyskin leopard print heels have been reduced to £19 www.debenhams.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/prod_10701_10001_051010220670_-1 a bargain if ever I saw one.

I failed in my sandal hunt today. :( I wanted to try these but they hadn't got them in my size, and I can't find them online either. Tbh I don't think these are quite the same - the ones I wanted had a block heel, rather than a wedge iirc.

I tried this on in the claret colour, and it's really nice - a good work top. Need to size down massively though - I needed an 8 and could have done with a 6. If anybody suits orange, they had a lovely burnt orange colour too - I suspect it's the one called, 'Sienna' but the colour on the website looks nothing like the real one.

FreeButtonBee · 15/06/2014 15:33

noddy I LOVE that jumpsuit. It's fabulous. I have cautiously entered the world of jumpsuits this year. I have a short one from warehouse which is definitely NOT workwear!!

KarlWrenbury · 15/06/2014 16:13

yikes at thsoe Mr tumble zara shoes

noddyholder · 15/06/2014 16:20

The zara one could defintitey be workwear as it looks like a dress when you are standing still

noddyholder · 15/06/2014 16:24

but if you are pole dancing its definitely a jumpsuit ;)

RonaldMcDonald · 16/06/2014 09:01

Noddy
I love that jump suit and will try to get a trip in to try it today...problems with being long/norks aside ( not long norks...well...)

Those Zara shoes are also fab but I'd need a 9 so I shall not go to the ball

KarlWrenbury · 16/06/2014 10:19

saw this and thought of Remus

Those blue leopard print Dune heels look gorgeous, but are 10 cm high which is just too high for me. Why can't they be, say, 9cm? Every extra cm in height makes them exponentially more uncomfortable and difficult to walk in.

Ah, I linked to the leopard print version of those Jasper Conran animal print heels - what a total bargain! The exception to the rule that Debenhams have dire own brand stock.

OP posts:
KarlWrenbury · 16/06/2014 10:21

they are too high, that is why they are still in my virtual bag.
WAH, and i have so many for going out

BelindaAllWorkedOut · 16/06/2014 10:21

Nice M&S skirt - I love geometric prints.

OP posts:
KarlWrenbury · 16/06/2014 10:22

i am going into town today and might put on my Debenhams hazmat suit

KarlWrenbury · 16/06/2014 11:00

fat face - there is a shop I always walk past, I don't know what this is like in rl

Never go in to fatface. Nice skirt. Like the M&S geometric one too. With all this talk of jumpsuits, I'll just have to try one. Haven't been shopping much lately and what I bought was for hols. No work clothes news. Wandering thru the blogosphere last night I saw Giovanna Battaglia, rocking Belinda's monochrome look. Can't link here. I think it was Vanessa Jackman's blog. Will link later.
