Let's talk workwear. Maybe a little bit of non workwear fashion chat, too.

My blog is at theworkwearedit.com but our chat goes above and beyond that.

Zara website has some pictures of pale blue clothes and stone/khaki together looks good In the looks bit.

BelindaAllWorkedOut · 06/06/2014 07:34

Ooh, so stone top/jacket, white accessories? That might be good. Fresh combo. I like.

Yes definitely.

TroyMcClure · 06/06/2014 07:40

oh i have none of those - outlay too $$

noddyholder · 06/06/2014 07:56

Is it for work?

Bearleigh · 06/06/2014 07:57

Nothing to do with pale blue (though stone sounds good), but I saw someone wearing pale grey ? trousers yesterday with turn-ups, and black flat shoes, & they looked so smart. I only saw the bottoms peeping out from under her coat. It was the turn-ups that made the difference.

MissMarjoribanks · 06/06/2014 08:21

Found you! My workwear wardrobe is much improved since I found this thread and the blog.

After failing with the Kendras and getting some Jones courts I also bought the LK Bennett blue Saffiano leather pointy courts. Love them. Love them. They are comfy and every female colleague of mine has complimented me on them (and some of the men too).

I also bought this Jigsaw pencil skirt (the watercolour one, though lovely, didn't suit me). It goes with everything. I tuck into pencil skirts but I am long waisted. It makes me look more shapely as I have no tiny boobs.

Plus some other boring stuff.

BeattieBow · 06/06/2014 08:35

I wore my florets over the last 2 days and got loads of compliments on them! And they're so comfortable too - I wore them on the commute and all day with no problems

I'm v tempted by another pair

Bear I'm looking for some grey 7/8s too

I would wear white with pale blue I think

noddyholder · 06/06/2014 08:38

Those shoes are an amazing colour

Littlepinkpear · 06/06/2014 08:53

I love those shoes!

My French connection order arrived, the dress is very nice but extremely short and I'm only 5ft!

The snakeskin wedges look nothing like the picture but they are fabulous and staying Smile

DH watched me try it on last night and asked if it was for work. I said it was but far too short so weekends only. He looked very relieved.

I saw this on the Zara website and very nearly ordered it until I checked the description. Bit of a con Zara. Hmm

RonaldMcDonald · 06/06/2014 09:05

I think an aqua top for the blue trews.

RonaldMcDonald · 06/06/2014 09:18

this sort of colour with the trousers troy?

MissMarjoribanks · 06/06/2014 09:41

I wish I could love tapered trousers but every pair I've owned has ballooned at the hips. Just makes me look like a sack of spuds. I've got some straight leg Jaegar ones I found in the sale instead. Plus now I wear skirts practically all the time.

FreeButtonBee · 06/06/2014 13:47

back to M&S shoes.

I got these (in "nude" although they are much more pink than nude) today - 29.50 - total bargain. Heel not too high. Thought they had a nice rockstud vibe about them. Will be perfecto with my Gap slim cropped trews.

I am on a total spending ban but these were too good to miss. I did size up 1/2 a size because of the ankle strap - I hate if they are too tight.

FreeButtonBee · 06/06/2014 14:16

sorry, linky here

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 06/06/2014 16:47

Are those blue ones the shoes I posted on the VW dress thread? I like!

Nothing to report here. Am hoping to go out tonight but horrible period pain means I might not, and also means I'll have to wear dark clothes. :( Can't muster up much enthusiasm - am desperate to wear my new trews!

I like that skirt, Noddy - am v find of ones like that, with heels and a fitted top.

noddyholder · 06/06/2014 18:14

Surprised how flattering it is compared to pencils which I have decided don't suit me!

Bearleigh · 06/06/2014 18:43

That sort of skirt does look fresh: I have always liked bigger skirts, as they give me shape (though am possibly in less need of such help now than when I was younger).

It's interesting seeing changes in what looks good and what people wear. I have seen so many over the years, from flares in the 1960s, via Oxford bags in the 1970s, and skinnies in the early 80s, then leggings, and back through them all again.

I have suddenly just noticed more women wearing ? slim trousers with heels all of a sudden, rather than skinnies with flats. That look has been simmering under for a while, and now to my eyes it's broken through and suspect more people will wear it.

noddyholder · 06/06/2014 18:45

Flared trousers are very in here too. Tight fitting at teh top and a tiny flare with high wedges and fairly fitted slim shirt.

TroyMcClure · 06/06/2014 19:20

anyone any experience of the Zara oversize cotton jumper in thousands of colours?

BelindaAllWorkedOut · 07/06/2014 08:00

Troy - not familiar w those Zara jumpers. Re your pale blue, would silvery grey work? Along w white accessories?

On ipad so can't read back.

Who almost ordered that Zara bag? Lucky escape - it looks quite cheap in real life.

Unlike the orange cotton blazer I linked to (will link again). Saw 2 v stylish women, wearing it, separately. One w skinnies, white top and grey and orange heels. Looked amazing (but she was model material). Saw not her lady wearing it w black slim 7/8th trousers and black mid heels, and a white shell top. I wish I could have taken a photo [creepy].

Nice M&S heels, Free.

Agree re how a new shape / way of wearing something can make everything else look really fresh.

marjori - was thinking how nice it is that the thread and blog are useful and that you've found workwear you like so much. I love those Floret shoes so much - glad you bought them and love them. They are stunning. I went to the LKB outlet last night, hoping to see some, but I Juuuust missed the opening hours (by 2 mins). Your other things sound lovely, too.

BelindaAllWorkedOut · 07/06/2014 08:26
