Let's talk workwear. Maybe a little bit of non workwear fashion chat, too.

My blog is at theworkwearedit.com but our chat goes above and beyond that.

That marks jumper is lovely

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 29/05/2014 18:08

The blue one? I like button backs but pastel colours are an absolute no on/for me.

EduardoBarcelona · 29/05/2014 18:09

I think Ravello tops come up big, even for those with comparatively large chests.

EduardoBarcelona · 29/05/2014 21:14

Yes I wear a 12. Am normally a 14

I have just bought something from Lands' End. I thought it was totally frumpy, but in desperation for something to go with a colourful skirt, I had a rummage and I have ended up with a Pima cotton twinset that goes perfectly. The quality is excellent, and it looks really stylish (IMHO). There was a lot of dross, but here and there are some good things for work, including some 100% Pima tops, the same fabric as my twinset. It looks very John Smedley. Avoid the 70-odd% Pima/nylon/elastane mix - it is lumpy & horrid. There are even some cute shoes, although they are not classical work-wear.

Littlepinkpear · 29/05/2014 23:07

I would have said all the same places for decent workwear as previous - BR, monsoon and oasis all worth a try. I too am short Grin

Just been listing Zara shoes on eBay and had a quick search. The amount of boden stuff on eBay is insane!

BelindaAllWorkedOut · 29/05/2014 23:15

pear - Zara is v popular. Good luck! I love eBay, for known brands and sizes.

Bearleigh - sounds like a great find!

Ed - did you say yellow!? Will need to brace myself for a visit to Primark. Nearest one is Marble Arch, and it's an ordeal to shop there. Full body assault from shoving tourists. Tottenham Court Rd should be better. Although I tend to avoid thin denim - are these flattering and made of stern enough stuff?

Thin denim ideal for warm days

Perfect, so you can get their customer service / delivery times, rather than Mango's.

Okay. In the name of research today I tried on -

These trousers I thought they'd be hideous and dp's face was a picture when I picked them up, but they are really nice. I bought them. I think they will work with heels and a blazer for work, with ankle boots, silk cami and a biker jacket in the pub, and with sandals and a vest for the summer.

This top Obvs not for work! This is also very nice - the ruching is really flattering and it made me look very slim. I decided against it though, as would need a strapless bra, even if not wearing it with the full on Bardot off the shoulder look. Also the fabric felt too warm for this time of year. It would be v good as an Autumn/Winter top with jeans though.

This beauty Again, obvs not for work. Came up huge though - good job because I really couldn't afford it!

EduardoBarcelona · 30/05/2014 16:27

Love both. Couldn't you wear Bardot top not so off the shoulder?

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 30/05/2014 16:29

I tried it but the fabric on the arms is quite sheer and you could still see my bra straps, not that this would be the end of the world. It's really nice though and I might well buy it and save for Autumn - fabric is too hot and sweaty for now.

EduardoBarcelona · 30/05/2014 16:31

They do a sleeveless Bardot too. Hold on. How LOOSE are the trews? thinks of other thread

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 30/05/2014 16:31

Oh and I've just noticed that it's Handwash too. Grrr.

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 30/05/2014 16:32

Trews are cigarette-esque. Not skin tight but not loose either. And they are cotton.

EduardoBarcelona · 30/05/2014 16:33

Normal size? I might get. Need a warehouse code

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 30/05/2014 16:33

John Lewis - 20% off. Normal size - I bought a 12 and they are comfortable. I think a ten would've been tight.
