Hi, I hope no one minds me starting a new thread, I was about to post on the old one and then saw it was on 999 messages so I'm hoping I can get a link to this one on before it fills up so we don't get lost. Apologies if I've trodden on anyone's toes Blush

The previous thread is here

Love that asos khaki skirt, Charity, could be useful for work. How's the quality?

JenniMoo · 17/11/2014 06:22

Hopefully - DH gave me that seasalt coat for my birthday a week ago and I love it! It actually keeps me dry and warm, but not too hot. Thanks for the recommendation :)

nevercackle · 24/11/2014 22:41

Checking in, did the colour analysis yesterday and sorting out the wardrobe tomorrow.

nevercackle · 25/11/2014 09:58

Anybody here?

MarthaCostello · 25/11/2014 11:58

Hi never, welcome :) were you pleased with your diagnosis? I was disappointed at first at having to get rid of black, but now love my colours and wouldn't never go back to black!

nevercackle · 25/11/2014 12:09

Hi, no I was really pleased. I've just spent the morning going through my wardrobe. Actually discovered stuff I forgot I had that is perfect.
Glad to finally remove some items too that are just wrong even if they are expensive.
Hoping to sell some at a local dress agency to pay for some new stuff too.
I hate black and white anyway!

nevercackle · 25/11/2014 12:11

and this morning on the school run a mum I don't know very well said, "I love the colours you are wearing, gorgeous!"Grin

Charitygirl1 · 25/11/2014 16:00

Right, flying visit to belatedly answer some questions:

  1. khaki asos skirt is ok quality - not double layer or super thick, but perfectly acceptable with tights.
  2. leopard print cardi was from zara but years ago sadly!
  3. McQ trousers arrived and were crap - really weird cut on me, and fabric a bit light and sheeny for winter, but too hot for summer.
  4. Atterley Road deer print dress is back in stock - have snapped it up!
Charitygirl1 · 25/11/2014 16:00

And currently mulling these

MarthaCostello · 25/11/2014 16:21

charity yay for the dress! Has it arrived yet? Shame about the trousers though.

Boots look nice, not my style at all, but can see how they'd suit someone else iyswim :)

nevercackle · 25/11/2014 16:58

How did everybody else feel right after doing the HoC thing? I am buzzing.
I have been feeling really crappy about myself despite losing a lot of weight. I'm excited now to put some outfits that together and feeling good about what I'm wearing.

RockMummy · 25/11/2014 18:17

Initially I missed black especially my beautiful 10 year old biker jacket however, over the last year I have fallen in love with my colours especially the ones I hadn't discovered like mustard, brick red and rosewood. Had a life long love of green so no problem there. Refuse to give up blue jeans though. Brick red has become my go-to colour for evening wear. I have come a long way.

nevercackle · 25/11/2014 21:44

yes, I wear lots of green and mustard anyway. the brick red I am intrigued by, always felt it would be too much for me. and the peachy colours I didn't realise were better than pink for me.

KittyB52 · 25/11/2014 22:47

I love the Autumn colours but am still struggling to find things I like in the right colours. Am having to cheat slightly by wearing (for example) the right colour dress with black tights and shoes, or the right colour jumper with black trousers for work. It's slow going, and that's without taking into account the style aspect.

nevercackle · 26/11/2014 21:15

Right, I have sorted my wardrobe and appear to have 17 (yes, 17!) cardigans in the right colours.

And two blouses. Shock Hmm

How did that happen?

KittyB52 · 27/11/2014 08:20

How have you found that many cardis? Where are they from? Grin

nevercackle · 27/11/2014 11:31

it seems I am a cardigan hoarder. they vary from Hobbs to primary.

maybe its time for me to move away from the cardigan.

jackets are too boxy for me and I like to have a cover up of some sort. any ideas?

nevercackle · 27/11/2014 11:32

primark not primary

MarthaCostello · 27/11/2014 14:47

never that's great that you have so many in your colours already. I also found that I'd been wearing some of my colours, although also lots of wrong colours Grin

I'm impressed with your cardigan stash. I also need to move away from cardigans and find jackets a bit much, so will be interested to see what others suggest :)

My analysis day wasn't very enjoyable, I shan't go on about it as I whinged enough on the last thread Blush, but that really put me off trying my new colours so I just put my booklet and wallet away and carried on buying clothes in wrong colours, lots of black, for a while. Then I realised how washed out I was looking and had a look through the MN thread and decided to give it a go. I'm not quite there yet, but my wardrobe is much more coordinated and I have more options rather than just set outfits. I'm now planning a style day with a different consultant :)

Anyway, I'm glad you're feeling so positive Grin

Kitty it does take a while to find enough clothes in the right colours. I started off with an H&M spree as they were so cheap and had lots of my colours at the time. Now I'm gradually adding pieces, but do still wear a few unsuitable colours, especially denim. The colours near your face are more important than bottoms so if you're wearing a good colour top, black trousers/skirt should be fine :)

nevercackle · 27/11/2014 15:57

looking back my stash of cardigans seems to have started a good few years ago. my mustard yellow one is a real favourite though and looking a bit well worn. there's a couple of orange and rusty coloured ones that i never knew if they worked or not that are going to be having a bit of a comeback.

since my analysis, i've bought two new blouses in orange and green from monsoon, a summer dress in the sale, and a couple of sweaters from the sale in sainsbury's. oh and a lovely olive green scarf from tkmaxx.

going to STOP now as the bank account can't take it. I will wait until the January sales and see what bargains I can find then.

Have started a pinterest board if anyone's interested called 'Autumn Colour Palette', all looks beautiful on models of course, but it's giving me inspiration.

nevercackle · 27/11/2014 16:02

that's such a shame your analysis day wasn't fun. what on earth happened (briefly Grin)?

Rapunzel88 · 27/11/2014 17:02

Welcome nevercackle, glad you are enjoying the whole process. I got analysed this summer so am a relative newbie too. Just wanted to jump in re the blue jeans conversation, have a read of this from the excellent Kettlewell blog. Blue jeans are not off limits for autumnals- yay! Worth following this blog as I've picked up some great tips.

nevercackle · 27/11/2014 17:30
Smile
Rapunzel88 · 28/11/2014 00:06

Am going to give these coral trousers a whirl.

nevercackle · 28/11/2014 16:42

ooh they look fun. what will you wear them with?
