Ooh well it's done. A very comfy hobbs dress that I feel much happier in with a beaded pashmina from Coast. Will do linky when I get home. And it was 20% off and Elys have a lingerie event!! Having a celebratory coffee.

Wouldn't mind seeing some horses galloping this afternoon.

originalpiratematerial · 10/05/2014 16:13

I have a bad habit of going off perfumes and once I go off them I can't bear them even on other people. I've done this with Jo Malone lime and basil cologne (had to wash everything in my wardrobe to eliminate the scent residue) and Chanel Noir, after only a few wears. Clinique Happy is naohter one I just can't bear. I am now super-cautious about perfume.

originalpiratematerial · 10/05/2014 16:14

Coco Noir, not Chanel Noir. My brian is scrambled.

beachyhead · 10/05/2014 16:48

I love Kouros BTM. Reminds me of a very sweet smelling ex!

I'm on English Pear and Freesia by JM at the moment. Dh bought me Earl Grey and Cucumber, but I can't really get on with it at all.

I always used to wear Men's cologne - Boss, Davidoff etc.

My Jo Malone Lime and Basil started to react really badly with my skin and smelt foul, so I moved on from that quite quickly.

Soooo windy here, washing is about to take off across the back fence!

I seem to have gone off my huge bottle of Jo M LBM too.

Beachy, it has to be a no from me too; like Rudy, no tent and unsociable partner, also DD1 has Thesp Stuff and DD2 will just have come back from school trip. I'd love to come in hippy solstice fashion Hmm

motherinferior · 10/05/2014 17:48

Ooh and Windy, I think comfort is much maligned in women's clothes. A properly fitting garment makes one feel much better.

hattymattie · 10/05/2014 17:54

Hello everybody, have just been lying on the sofa catching up. Have been too exhausted to post this week what with one thing and another but wanted to say to Windy that I picked up quite a nice dress from Alexon which I'd formerly associated with my mother. It was a great price and for once made me feel good!

On the perfume front I have Chanel Chance for winter and Chanel eau vert in summer. When it's very hot I like Guerlin pamplelune. DD1 uses Miss Dior which I must admit smells lovely(on her).

By the way I have a friend who is relocating to London with a not very great budget. Any suggestions of where she can go and still be accessible to cultural activities?

CremolaDItalia · 10/05/2014 18:01

Well I managed to get the Lynn Harris Le Rose for dmum. And yes it is on sale at 1/2 price! Also the gift box which includes the body lotion cost £12.50 and has a full size bottle of scent.
I really loved noir funny enough but not for mum- quite masculine.

I am flat out on the sofa after a thrilling day at the Giro in the rain. Rudy you'd have loved it! But maybe you'll get to see a bit of the TDF up in Yorkshire?
I am shattered, pyjamaed and waiting for Eurovision . Bearded lady
Arf!

CremolaDItalia · 10/05/2014 18:04

Oh Rudy that shot of the horses on the beach is stunning. Nearly had a little proud weepGrin

NearTheWindymill · 10/05/2014 18:04

Here it is. The picture doesn't do it justice but it hides a multitude of sins and feels right. Also, the length is good - it just covers my knees.

and this is the wrap

  • not shown to its best advantage but it looks pretty worn pashmina style and the little beads are glass and pretty and it dresses up a dress that I will be able to wear with a jacket or cardigan for work afterwards.

Neither of the items are what I went out for but they work and don't make me feel self conscious. I tried on 6 Jaeger dresses - they were all about 1.5 inches shorter than the dress I bought.

originalpiratematerial · 10/05/2014 18:06

Glad to see I'm not the only one who has had a bad experience with that lime & basil stuff, yeuch. I met a really lovely woman whose son is a pal of DS2's and unfortunately she was wearing it, and I really found it hard going to talk to her. Ridiculous. I blame pregnancy for it all. I went off several perfumes whilst pg with DS1, and have never really got on with scents ever since.

CremolaDItalia · 10/05/2014 18:06

Very smart windy. You'll look terrific.Smile

originalpiratematerial · 10/05/2014 18:07

I love that dress, windy! Off to go look at the wrap now.

originalpiratematerial · 10/05/2014 18:08

I love that dress, and I really like the wrap too!

motherinferior · 10/05/2014 18:10

I think it's quite a crude - in the sense of not v complex - scent, which may be part of it?

We will avoid Eurovision in favour of the regular Buffyfest Grin

hattymattie · 10/05/2014 18:20

Love that dress Windy.

NearTheWindymill · 10/05/2014 18:25

Getting ready for Eurovision here too Grin. DH has been out delivering leaflets three times today and has come back like a drowned rat every time Shock.

hattymattie · 10/05/2014 18:29

We are going out but DC's are installed for Eurovision with M&M's and we should be back for the scoring.

NearTheWindymill · 10/05/2014 18:37

Oh and QQ neither of your recommendations were in the shop otherwise I'd have tried them too and they would probably have been far nicer.

NUFC69 · 10/05/2014 18:46

Windy, very good choices - I love the dress in particular.

I was pounced on by a sales assistant with a perfume bottle when I was in Debenham's a few weeks ago and she offered me a spritz of a new perfume (can't remember what it was). Anyway, she squirted, I sniffed and then leaned towards her and said that I thought it reminded me of cat's wee (it did). We then beat a hasty retreat.

Back to a brief child watching spell tomorrow while DD and DSil go to have a second look at a house - so, of course, they are coming here for a light lunch before they go. I did warn them that it's likely to be something like cheese on toast as I intend to put a piece of pork shoulder in the slow cooker in the morning which we will have in the evening. Have just made a date and walnut cake for after the cheese on toast (which I will not be having).

Crem, glad to hear that you had a lovely time.
