Well someone had to do it....

Third: CV, you've done your version of the Trousers of Truth, with low-carbing, and it worked! I aspire to your levels of slimness...

bigTillyMint · 08/05/2014 13:47

BD, I find lists very helpful. It is, however, another sign of crepiness!

Blackduck · 08/05/2014 14:08

Can I point out I am not BTM's parrot :)

bigTillyMint · 08/05/2014 14:12

Hop on me shoulder, BD!

I think MI's idea of a Trousers of Truth would be a good halfway house. And we're only going to be really talking about on Fridays, as that's 'weigh in'.

But I realise I am relatively armour-plated when it comes to body 'ishoos', and liable to blundering insensitivity, so feel free to ignore me!

bigTillyMint · 08/05/2014 14:35

I'm not upset Rudy, but I do need a kick up the backside!

lalsy · 08/05/2014 14:48

I would like a little Trousers of Truth emoticon, a jaunty tiny pair of trousers, perhaps in a range of gorgeous colours, with a large boot approaching it, as the klaxon Smile.

I wish it was Friday.

herbaceous · 08/05/2014 14:52

If we were brave, we could put pictures in our profiles of us in said Trousers of Truth, at the moment, complete with muffin top and camel toe. To compare and contrast with their lovely fittingness in a few weeks months time.

bigTillyMint · 08/05/2014 14:59

Herbs, you're on your own on that oneGrin

Stropperella · 08/05/2014 15:48

Herbs, that would not be brave. That would be masochistic Grin

QueenQueenie · 08/05/2014 16:15

Herbs you is well hardcore.
Is the consensus that we will muddle our way through potentially thorny issue in a well meaning and good humoured way? I think that will suit me.
But oh for a tiny trouser emoticon! Could someone technically gifted find a suitable picture of said tiny trousers thst ee can sgsre round and use? Pretty please?

OP posts:
QueenQueenie · 08/05/2014 16:16

We can share round and use even. ..

No tiny trousers, but I did find this useful self-administering arse-kicking machine.

beachyhead · 08/05/2014 17:34

I found this to make us all feel much better.....

Auriga · 08/05/2014 17:48

The Trousers of Truth seem to have got legs. Agree we mustn't let them become the Trousers of Tyranny. Actually, I think I gave my original Ts of T to the charity shop for that exact reason. I don't need anyone else to persecute me, I'm quite capable of doing it myself Blush.

Tottered in to work today. Mistake. Felt like shit. Did the essentials, came home and then accidentally worked all afternoon. Going to lie down.

NUFC69 · 08/05/2014 18:16

I didn't mean to upset anyone either. I am pretty evangelical about dieting when I am doing it and then totally not interested at other times. After doing so well last year I am desperate not to put it all back on again, hence me talking about it.

Stropps, apologies again: when I got you mixed up with MrsS I was using my phone whilst I was in the garden with DGD.

MI, that was my point about CDIF, if she is of a similar generation to me, that's what she might have been taught. Mind you, she sounds a right idiot so I am not making excuses for her, I would have assumed you knew what you were talking about.

Just met up with a couple we met on holiday which was nice.

Rudy, I fear that no matter how much weight I was to lose, I will never ever look like that again!

CointreauVersial · 08/05/2014 19:01

Thanks for your nice words. Slim is, of course, relative. I eat low carb mainly because I actually prefer it nowadays; it really isn't a chore. That's not to say I am not regularly derailed by the odd almond croissant. And there is an unmistakable belt of podge which crept on last year and hasn't really been dealt with. But as I said in my post, I'm leaning more and more towards the "So what? Hand me that almond croissant."

I don't think the Trousers of Truth have caused offence or upset.....we're beyond that, aren't we Crepesters?

My Mango parcel has made it home, but I'm only keeping one thing for me (this shirt) and one thing for DD1, whose midriff is podge-free (this). I may however have sneaked into Cancer Research and bought an H&M jacket and a stripy shirt. Blush

lalsy · 08/05/2014 19:32

Mmmm, almond croissant, I do like being derailed by them. No ToT upset here for sure, but I have been both derailed and upset by a quick survey of our house: we have the equivalent I think of car-full of bags and boxes full of dd's Stuff, and we live in a small house. Much of it is broken or strange (sheep skulls, sticks with bandages on, old lego, toy tanks, loads of objects with pennies glued to them) but unpredictable objects have huge sentimental value for her. I have said I am putting it in neat boxes (and quietly throwing away the bits that clearly are rubbish) and she can go through the boxes in the summer one by one, and she has agreed to that (can't really tackle it now as she is about to start exams)

I don't want her to start a new phase in her life surrounded by broken crockery and things from primary school jumble sale, I find it very spirit lowering. I am only an accidental hoarder though - indolence not sentiment - so don't really understand. Any advice wise ones?

Blackduck · 08/05/2014 19:38

Rudy I can do the top picture no trouble... The bottom picture eludes me I fear......

Stropperella · 08/05/2014 19:40

Eh, Rudy, I've never, ever looked like your Pic 2. Grin I do like the idea of a little cartoon, though.

Auriga, give yourself a break! Sounds like you need a long w/e watching more vids of kittens.

I have new and even shorter hair. Hairdresser used one of those shaver things at the back - that's how short it is. At the back, anyway. What with that and my new large, dark turquoise - or "teal" as I think it may be called these days - glasses, I look like a right try-hard old bag. Still, I suppose it is better than that whole "Einstein touched a live wire" look that I used to sport. I have also purchased some bright red boots. This was probably silly, but they will go with the try-hard old bag look. Dd also has new glasses but she currently thinks they make her look like the character in "Where's Wally?". (They don't) However, she has also noted that she can now see. Grin
