Well someone had to do it....

DD has been asleep in our bed since about 6pm. Apparently she couldn't sleep last night as she had eaten next to nothing all day, but drank 3 Red Bulls at the partyHmm I suppose at least it wasn't vodka Red Bulls. Or maybe it was.

SheherazadeSchadenfreude · 05/05/2014 21:30

"Pischwasser" coffee for Mr Inferior then, MI? Grin My mother had a percolator when I was a child and she gave me coffee in my sippy cup. I've been a big fan of strong coffee ever since.

I am making chicken vindaloo for DH when he comes back from dropping DD2 back at school. She has forgotten her glasses...

Blackduck · 05/05/2014 21:39

Ds's birthday dinner - yum... Tres happy with his turmeric coloured trainers and game......

SheherazadeSchadenfreude · 06/05/2014 00:58

Can I ask one (or two) of you to read a couple of short stories I have written, please? I have been battling with the ending of one of them for months, and although I am happier with it, I am not 100% happy, but would like someone else's views. They are both a bit bleak, and not cheerful and uplifting.

motherinferior · 06/05/2014 06:40

Yes, but not today as am at computer already in faint and underslept hope of getting some work done...

bigTillyMint · 06/05/2014 06:56

I can, if you have them in Kindle version and you can wait till the summer holidays as that is the only time I seem to read nowGrin

Blackduck · 06/05/2014 07:18

I can MrsS - email them to me?!

Did ds's birthday dinner last night, now very tired as didn't sleep well/at all Sunday. Would quite like a day off......

herbaceous · 06/05/2014 07:57

I could too, mrs S. Though might not be until this evening.

NUFC69 · 06/05/2014 12:37

I could, too, MrsS, but I guess you have plenty of takers.

DH hss sloped off for a day's cycling, leaving Cinderella in the garden still deweeding the patio. It is now done, however the front path wants doing as well so that's a job for tomorrow as I can hardly bend. Glorious day, though, so nice to be outside (and it must help my diet).

motherinferior · 06/05/2014 12:55

I have battled with some deadlines. Now need to bash the Big Beast (a feature I can't quite work out yet) into shape.

NU, take some painkillers and get a break!

Have a letter saying DD1 is onto her FREE drama course. (It's working up to a bronze Arts Award.) She is going to be impossibly thespy for the next couple of months Hmm.

NUFC69 · 06/05/2014 14:29

MI, well done to your DD. I am stretched out on the settee and the back is fine atm; however I am not going back out to do any more. I have left the sweeping up for DH when he deigns to come home.

bigTillyMint · 06/05/2014 17:32

NUEnvy I would like to be stretched out on the settee, but DS is already stretched out on it.

motherinferior · 06/05/2014 17:49

I have wrestled the Beast, in manner of someone in the book of Revelation.

QueenQueenie · 06/05/2014 17:55

...or Laocoon and the sea serpents?!
(Guess who spent the weekend helping ds2 with his Latin verse paper for his imminent GCSE?)

OP posts:
motherinferior · 06/05/2014 18:48

I swear I have 666 tattooed on my forehead.

herbaceous · 06/05/2014 19:09

What was that amusing thingo about The Beast:

664: the neighbour of the beast
665.99: retail price of the beast

originalpiratematerial · 06/05/2014 19:12

Hello again...I've been away for a bit, but would like to return to the crepey fold (so to speak) if I may?

bigTillyMint · 06/05/2014 19:49

Of course, great to see you opm

addle · 06/05/2014 20:08

Cat issue - my cat B has a stalker - small sweet looking tortoiseshell with great black rings around her eyes. i would love her if she didn't stress B out so that she wees all over the hall way - she's there first thing in the morning staring through door, watching every move she makes and following her round the garden, right into late evening.
Stalker cat got pregnant, disappeared for a while, popped back last week and now ... has brought stalker kitten with her to gaze at my baffled and furious cat - tiny black kitten.
Any advice? it's weird and funny but tbh i don't blame my idiot cat for being freaked out.

welcome back OPM!

motherinferior · 06/05/2014 20:11

Wotcher Pirate Grin

We have many folds in which to engulf you Blush

DD1 has just asked me if she really needs to empty bins "which aren't full yet". Yes, kiddo, it is Bins Emptying Night and this doesn't just mean Brimming Overflowing Bins Night.

She has also announced I never talk to her enough. Having gone from sullenly underfed to chirpily nourished in the space of fifteen (15, xv) minutes. She has chatted to me about many things including the fact her friend J "isn't excluded any more and has really nice hair today" Hmm

SheherazadeSchadenfreude · 06/05/2014 20:23

Ello Pirate. Smile

I don't do bins, and I don't drive, unless I have to. On the grounds that if I did those things I would be doing most things in the house. I don't do DIY either, nor do I clean the bathroom, as DH says I don't do it "properly." I am working very hard on not doing other stuff properly as well, and have now added hoovering to the list.

PM me your email addresses and I will email you stories. BD - I think I have yours somewhere...

motherinferior · 06/05/2014 20:54

I have just had a totally pointless row with DP about getting the kids to bed Confused.

I am going to fling some more words at the screen and then go to bed. I am reading this book which is by someone I used to know/work with long ago when I wasn't crepey. We have been exchanging emails about which of our other colleagues were in fact spooks.

originalpiratematerial · 06/05/2014 21:20

thank you all Smile

The first of the Eurovision semi-finals tonight - DS2 is a Eurovision aficionado and DS1 is happy to go along with it. DS3 was Not Happy to have his YouTube videos drowned out by this rubbish so had a massive meltdown (he is autistic).

Sigh.

motherinferior · 06/05/2014 21:38

I have conquered the Beast.

Just call me Gandalf.

Addle, I have no advice of any use on cats. I live my life in a sort of meek obeisance to their wishes, occasionally stuffing bathmats into the machine...

originalpiratematerial · 06/05/2014 21:45

motherinferior DS2 did bronze arts award last year - I think he enjoyed it.
