Well someone had to do it....

OP posts:
herbaceous · 04/05/2014 10:22

We've had frozen, and wii sports.

I've just sent DS I to the bedroom to look for something. Shall start ramping up unnecessary annoyances.

NUFC69 · 04/05/2014 10:41

Yep, noise is the way to go, Herbs. Does DS have a drum kit or plastic trumpet? My commiserations.

Glad to hear mini MU was enjoyed by all - I can't believe you have noisy drunken friends, MI.

The sun has sort of come out so DH will go outside and garden, I think. He's been cleaning upstairs for me, bless him, while I do the paprika pork for the slow cooker.

herbaceous · 04/05/2014 10:54

I'm only being quiet to minimise lunch grumpiness. Bit this will have to end.

I've been so considerate I haven't even got dressed yet, so,haven't been able to get on with planting out my veg seedlings or indeed anything productive.

Ah. I hear heavy stumbling above.

Cremolafoam · 04/05/2014 11:00

Oh herbs what a pita.
Hope the whole day isn't ruined. I'd be a bit monosyllabic myself if dh did that.

Off out to meet dsis for restorative and hopefully sqiffy lunch today.
Cremolacat improving and no longer limping. Looks like he was in a fight as the vet found several new wounds on his paw yesterday , and his tongue was slashed . He is dozing prettily on my dressing gown.

Rudy what's all the running( I missed something probably??)

I have a very sore leg and don't know what's causing it. Please don't make it be varicose veins.( crepey doom)

herbaceous · 04/05/2014 11:22

He's up, and seems to be lacking in the necessary amount of contrition. I've left him in the sitting room 'having a disco' with DS, who is playing tinny trashy music through my phone. Hah.

Watched something about 9/11 last night, all live footage narrated by radio conversations between emergency services, and the like. Still seems remarkable that such a thing happened...

motherinferior · 04/05/2014 12:35

DP roasting a chicken for his brother (well, all of us. Except DD1.) Nice bloke but I need prosecco to survive it. Have made nigella's microwave chocolate pud with Dd2.

Also gone to Aldi and bought yet more de-nit medication for Dd1, whose appalling sociability means she is in constant contact with her friends. Was amiably accosted in Aldi by nice-looking bloke. Simpered. Then realised bloke was dad of DDs non-boyf. And so time passes...

Oh god have just heard BIL saying he's not drinking. DP doesn't drink either. I am going to look like slavering alkie.

addle · 04/05/2014 12:50

in s&b news ... i have two (2, ii) pairs of suede LK Bennett pumps/loafer type thing in dark charcoal blue/grey (looks black) and cherry red. smallish size 3.5. and i have realised they are just not me and i will never ever wear them. would anyone like them? i'll just bring to next meet up if so.

mi - thought of you immediately and you v welcome but i suspect your taste closer to mine (heavy boots most of year)

herbs hope your lunch ok - concentrate on having good time and don't compromise for your pita dh

motherinferior · 04/05/2014 12:58

Addle, suspect you're right. Grin

motherinferior · 04/05/2014 13:00

Though cherry sounds v charming with jeans...

Blackduck · 04/05/2014 13:39

Do you have a link Addle? (Like MI I have small feet...)

NUFC69 · 04/05/2014 14:30

Count me out with the shoes - size 7.5 here. Sad They do sound lovely, though. One of my jobs this coming week is to sort out cupboards and wardrobes (every time I open a door things fall out). I have loads of shoes I don't wear, including one pair of pink ones which DH has never seen and which have only been out of the box for me to look at! I bought them for DS' s first wedding and when I got them home realised that the colour was wrong (and they hurt).

Herbs, I hope you're enjoying your lunch and that DH is participating.

MI, I wish I could join you with the wine, but soldiering on with the diet and it's a no-no.

Glad to hear that the cat is improving, Crem. They cost you a fortune when they fight.

addle · 04/05/2014 14:53

here we go:

Sour Crepes
bigTillyMint · 04/05/2014 16:53

MI and BD, they look lovely - great with jeans!

Well, I only just survived the Car Giant trip.
We had to go round and look at the exterior of any possible car and DH took pictures of the ones we preferred.
Then (after sales pitch) we had to go and get the keys of first possible car and get in and try it out. Then go back and swap the keys for the next car, etc, etc.
Of course DH wouldn't buy anything without researching (he knows nothing, zilch about cars) but we now have a short-list of a Zafira or a Citroen Grand.
How long till he actually buys one?Sad

Feel slightly revived after bacon butties and a snooze in the sun, but I now have to help DD with her art homework. She is off to a party later...

Blackduck · 04/05/2014 17:26

Getting ready to go out. How to admit sitting on my patio with a glass of chilled white is currently more appealing...

bigTillyMint · 04/05/2014 17:54

Wonder how your getting on with your DM, MrsS.

Just called mine (she never calls me) and she said that she might do a coach trip down to London in December. She might have some free time on the Saturday and possibly the Sunday morning, but then they will be going to see carol singing in Covent Garden.
So she can come down to London on a sightseeing trip, but not to come and stay with usConfused

lalsy · 04/05/2014 18:31

Families eh BTM? [said Lalsy wearily, reeling from the latest painful and bizarre episode in her family saga - resolution of sorts may be in sight].

S and B news, pretty well all my clothes are dirty or wet or both.

CointreauVersial · 04/05/2014 18:59

Addle - I am another Bigfoot so will have to leave the shoes to someone with more delicate trotters (but they do sound lovely).

BTM - if you are in the market for a 5+2 seater I can heartily recommend what we have, a Toyota Verso. Utterly reliable and cheap to maintain, and drives nicely. (Although the radio reception in ours leaves a lot to be desired since DH lost the aerial at the car wash Angry ).

We got up early this morning and went here. What a giggle - a cross between golf, darts and tenpin bowling. DH and DS are the only ones who have ever swung a golf club, and won the first game, but DD1 and I staged a come-back in the second, and briefly made the leader board after some fantastic fluke shots. DD2 just had fun whacking the ball in all directions.

NearTheWindymill · 04/05/2014 19:06

Well I'm little footed but not that little footed (4.5) but think they are nice enough to seek out and try on.

herbaceous · 04/05/2014 19:20

I am medium-footed, at a 6, so I'm out, as Deborah Meaden would say.

Lunch and afternoon passed very pleasantly, with wine and beer consumed, and the children playing very nicely together in the garden. Didn't feel on my most sparkling form, but we'll have them back and can hopefully be better then.

DP struggled manfully on, and you'd never have known his trials. That's what you get for being young, I guess. (He's 38.)

Rather excitingly, our host is a minor telly star, and has been recognised in the local Waitrose.

bigTillyMint · 04/05/2014 19:50

Sounds like it all came right in the end Herbs.

CV thanks for your recommendation however I fear throwing another possibility into the mix may scupper my chances of getting a new car sorted sny time soon!

DS wants to do a bike ride with DH and I tomorrow - Thames path to the O2. Again!

I am not your Cinderella.Sad

beachyhead · 05/05/2014 09:10

Happy bank holiday, Crepeys! Beautiful blue sky here! Sorry, but I'm a size six shoe as well.

Off for brunch as dd1's birthday today. Driving lessons booked!

Blackduck · 05/05/2014 09:21

Happy birthday Beachys DD (ds's tomorrow he will be eleven (XI, 11) - had did that happen?)
MI do you want first dibs on the red and I'll try the others? ( thinking work in my case - I never buy shoes, only boots or sandels)
