Thought we could enjoy a (shallow and lighthearted, yes) analysis of Kate's antipodean wardrobe choices?

I'm finding it all a bit matchy matchy so far, all the colour blocking reminds me of the queen herself.

Would like to see we in more trousers other than the skinny navy jeans + Breton combo which has been done to death.

Why is she wearing high heels on top of a mountain?

Truly hideous safe, boring clothes. I'd have orders to not let her near my clothes if I was a designer. i wouldn't care about the hordes of Kathbots ordering everything that she has worn. She is the kiss of death to style, youth and British originality.

Nanny is a Norlander so could dress like one. It's hard as a nanny to dress appropriately, especially when the press are just looking for that first shot of you. Not that I have experience of being hounded by the press but I used to work as a nanny for HP families.

I really liked yesterday's dress but the other outfits I agree are too safe. That said she is identifiably 'Royal' and will stand out from a distance, except when wearing navy...

I need some education. Could someone elaborate on what is wrong with her shoe choices generally?

I think her shop choices are fine if you are on a limited budget (the nude lk Bennett come out at every occassion)

I think the wedges are more comfortable that heels. I quite liked them with the skinnies but not with the dress today.

I agree Migonette, Diana looked awful most of the time, completely agree about the shift dresses, and her hair & eye make up was dire. Kate looks a bit frumpy, which is a shame, as she has a great figure and hair. She could afford to wear a bit less make up too, as she has striking colouring.

I loved the yellow and DVF dresses. I'm not keen on the wedges at all.

I liked today's DVF dress and the yellow Roksanda Illincic dress, however most of the other outfits have bee pretty dull. On the other hand, she is in her work clothes and has to dress accordingly. I think she would look fantastic in some 1940's style wide legged trousers, a la Katherine Hepburn, but the Queen frowns upon ladies in trousers for Royal engagements so I doubt we will see that happening. There have been rumours that the Queen advised longer hemlines for the tour but it's probably more likely Kate has sought or been given advice from Angela Kelly, the Queen's dresser. I agree with others though that she could be a bit edgier while still regal. Princess Mary rarely puts a foot wrong in my opinion.

Love her white lace dress today. Had a look at the designers website and my goodness, there are some of the nicest clothes I've ever seen on there. I could buy so much of it, if I could afford it!!

The wedges are dire. Today she is tottering around wearing them on a beach. The wrap dress looked as if it would fly open at any chance. Today's lace dress is lovely.
Agree that Princesses Letizia and Mary wear good examples of interesting yet not ridiculous clothes.

giddy I'm surprised by her love for wedges,she is tall she doesn't need the extra height,flats would have been a better option for that dress.

I hate the way she dresses.. So old and boring and completely lacking in style.. Her shoes are generally awful..

BUT I did like the yellow dress and the white dress today is lovely.. Looked better on Naomi Watts though as she has the hair, make up and style to suit..

Kate just kills most things dead.. It's the dated hair, make up and shoes/accessories.. And she wears most things too loose.. McQueen should have an edge but on her it all looks dire.

If I was a designer I'd ban her from wearing my clothes. Seriously, I would.

I think she always looks nice. My only criticism is that she dresses a bit too old. I particularly like her evening gowns though. But given the option I would get rid of the lot of them in a handshake.

I think her outfits are incredibly boring. But if she'd wanted above al else to wear quirky, cutting edge stuff she wouldn't have taken on that 'job'! I'm rather of the Hilary Mantel school of thought about her and her need to conform to an image.

Liked the white dress and the simple navy and white one recently. That yellow dress and the red air hostess outfit were shocking!
