And also thanks to all crepeys with their RL kind words. Especially BD, who trekked to the end of the table for a hug. I'm really sad not to be with the inlaws today. DS of course now looks a bit better. Hope it lasts - we're supposed to be going to a friend's birthday roast dinner tomorrow.

SheherazadeSchadenfreude · 29/03/2014 13:09

Huge thanks from me too, QQ. How did I miss seeing the hot husband? Was I fawning over the lovely soft doggy at the time?

Style and beauty news... I have had all my hair cut off into a rather radical short bob. Looks a lot better... less like QQ's dog's ears. Grin

Back is still painful, but I guess that is to be expected.

herbaceous · 29/03/2014 13:10

Hot Husband just popped in to the end of the sitting room with fewest crepeys. He was scared off pretty sharpish.

cremolafoam · 29/03/2014 13:51

What a glorious sunny warm day!
Good for the soul.
Sorry your back is still sore mrs s, but well done on the new haircut.
I am heading off to the airport feeling spring like and delighted to have seen you all again.
Hope you all have a lovely rest of weekend
Smile

DS has made a remarkable recovery, and is now demanding popping candy. Kill or cure. I guess.

Blackduck · 29/03/2014 15:59

Safe travelling Cremo!

Two words for you, Herbs:

Technicolour Sick.

herbaceous · 29/03/2014 16:10

Shall I hold off starting the washing mach

herbaceous · 29/03/2014 16:10

...ine?

([phone fail]

SheherazadeSchadenfreude · 29/03/2014 16:25

I would wait an hour or so, yes!

herbaceous · 29/03/2014 16:57

Popping candy has been inside for approx 30 minutes. He's now asking for pasta.

Blackduck · 29/03/2014 17:29

Like the haircut MrsS!

SheherazadeSchadenfreude · 29/03/2014 17:46

Thank you, BD!

DD1 hoovered up a huge bowl of Froot Loops and then proceeded to drink gallons of some generic, bright red "mixed fruit drink" on holiday in the US. She honked it all up and then said she was hungry, could she have some Lucky Charms instead?

Another vomitorious memory - our house in Belgium was on three floors. It had an open staircase (you can see where this is going, can't you?) - three floors of sick, which flew between the gaps of the staircase, and also all down the back of the radiator in the basement. While I was clearing up, she calmly went back upstairs and finished her pasta.

Live prey? Rudy - shudder -----

We got back from lunch out with the extended family at 5.30 - am now slumped in my chair still feeling very full. I just love tagliatelli carbonara and I know I shouldn't indulge, but I can't resist.

Please do not keep on saying what lovely weather you are having; it reached the heady heights of 7 degrees C here and we had the lights on inside all morning before we went out to lunch. It might be marginally better tomorrow, the BBC say. Hmm

I have now ordered a new pair of specs; my first pair from a not main stream opticians. Both DS and DDil have used the company before and they were very thorough with the measurements, so I am feeling quite reassured. My last pair were well over 500; these, using Zeis lenses as before, come to 390. Fingers crossed everything works out ok.

Herbs, I hope mini Herbs is still ok - it's amazing how quickly they recover from things like that.

Blackduck · 29/03/2014 20:18

Do you think Mr QQs ears are burning Grin

MrsS - grim up chuck stories..... Ds (touch wood) has done very little of that.....

She's got a temp on and off, dizziness , some sporadic boking and
cant eat much. Sounds viral but I'm not sure. She's very pale. I think well have to get her to the out of hours gp tomorrow . MerdeSad

QueenQueenie · 29/03/2014 20:42

Evening All.
Have to say I have felt a leeetle fragile today - am usually such a complete lightweight on the drinking front that my tolerance is very low.
So relieved pleased that you enjoyed yourselves. I really enjoyed having you all round. It was lovely to catch up with people (some more than others as usually happens - but there's always next time...)
You can all stop posting complimentary things about dh, he gets quite enough of that thank you! I have however passed on your kind remarks to the dog.
Am about to eat soothing and comforting cauliflower cheese and feel an early night coming on.
Sorry to hear tales of throwing up. Eeeeew.
Mrs S, really like the haircut!

Home finally, five photographic exhibitions later. Quite exhausted. Not good news on the dog, I'm afraid. He has heart failure, with the heart very enlarged on one side, which caused fluid in the lungs. We are all a bit sad here tonight.

He's home now with a wheelbarrow full of drugs and another appointment on Monday. He's only four Sad

Will let you all know re: camping once I've organised myself....

cremolafoam · 29/03/2014 22:07

Oh Beachy so sorry about the doggy

addle · 29/03/2014 22:55

me too sorry about the dog, Beachy

Mrs S, great hair

Herbs, skirt looked great; hope ds fully better

Crem, hope DD much, much better tomorrow

and NU - just beautiful here today, lying in the sun type weather ... gather we've got it tomorrow too. But no red squirrels Envy

Blackduck · 30/03/2014 06:47

Happy Mothers Day one and all - hope you are all getting a lie in and breakfast in bed. I need to move my sorry arse and tackle the intermittent underground.

Beachy so sorry about DDog - fingers crossed.

Rudy - I suspect the wine was doing the thinking!

Blackduck · 30/03/2014 07:14

Beachy - re read message - can they do anything?

OP posts:
NUFC69 · 30/03/2014 07:53

Grrr - woken up to fog and damp again. It's even nastier than it was yesterday. Sad

So sorry to hear about the dog's heart problems; so young for something like that.

I have had a lovely Mothering Sunday gift from DC - a year's pass for DH and me to Beamish which is a great open air museum. It'll be great to go either by ourselves or with the GC. I hope everyone has a nice time with their families today.
