Yes, I looked up what that was. Have been trying to remember what it was called for days Shock. Probably a good thing it isn't one of those in the circumstances. Can they change the piercing this early though - or will it just have to be removed and allowed to heal tries hard not to snigger but I am very worried about my baby boy.

Will skype him in the morning - he will have gone to work now.

lalsy · 23/04/2014 22:14

Grin over carrot-goldfish substitution malarkey.

I am glad your dad is finally getting the right care Crem, and sorry to hear about your bp, BTM.

We had a good-ish few days away, have returned with nice chutney and sheep bones (dd partial to dead animals, highlight of holiday for her was sight of a dead ewe and newborn lamb). I dragged my very crepey knees up some things, and felt better for it, and it was lovely to be out of mobile range most of the time and not cook at all.

Have no idea how much work dd has done, and suspect she will start getting a bit stressy soon, but she has been reasonably chipper this holiday. ds has been lovely - he is 15 next week so any bright present ideas would be great (he has selected an assortment of small zombie and music related gifts so far).

beachyhead · 23/04/2014 22:20

Cartilages can go pretty manky, allergies or not. We smothered sudocrem on my dd's and it did take a while to settle down. I would just leave him to it, on the basis that if it gets really infected, he'd be sensible enough to have it taken out.

The Hunterian was great, as was the zoological museum at UCL. We stood amazed at the walrus penis bone. You could 'adopt a specimen' but someone had already nabbed that one Smile

NearTheWindymill · 23/04/2014 22:41

I think MNet should have have adopted the Walrus Penis Bone to be honest Grin. Glad you enjoyed it - the Hunterian of course.

Maternal angst is harder to manage when they are 11.5k miles away. Sad

SheherazadeSchadenfreude · 23/04/2014 23:01

We are off to the IOW tomorrow and I am having the world's heaviest period. Hopefully I've got some tranexamic acid somewhere, because I am gushing. Roll on the menopause.

NearTheWindymill · 23/04/2014 23:05

Oh no, don't say that. One or two days of gush flood wins hands down on getting up three times a night for a shower and literally wringing out your nightie and the sheets. Just before I went on HRT DH and I invested in two single duvets on the bed because I just couldn't sleep, get comfortable, or stop sweating.

The IoW rocks.

I am grumpy that you lot chat all day when I'm at work and clearly have DH's/DP's who get home before 10pm to talk to.

CointreauVersial · 23/04/2014 23:22

Sympathies, MrsS.

Meanwhile I still haven't had a period since last summer's monster.....and the one before that was October 2012. At what point can I claim to be "done and dusted," do you think?

SheherazadeSchadenfreude · 23/04/2014 23:52

CV - Envy

Windy - I never MN during the day because I work, don't access MN at work and have my mobile turned off and locked away.

motherinferior · 24/04/2014 08:11

I on the other hand am freelance and otherwise lack for human contact...

MrsS, make a detour to a chemist. Much sympathy.

Windy ouch... Don't want to think about it
MrsS mucho sympathy.

CV - I'm like you - can't remember last period, have had three prolonged heavy ones prior to that and now nowt. Flushes and occasional night sweats (better if I cut out the booze).

Here it's a Nat Gallery audio tour, forbidden planet bookshop and some mooching through London.

Envy at IOW trip, MrsS - loved it there.

Windy, no saying I told you soWink Maybe the piercing will mysteriously disappear!

I manage to get on MN quite a bit at work, when the little lovelies are otherwise occupied!

BD, what are the plans for tomorrow? If QQ and MI can make it too? What about Waterloo bar and Kitchen again - I know you are veggie and they have some options. Or Tas again? Time? (got to arrange DC...)

hattymattie · 24/04/2014 10:53

Rudy - I've Mirena as well and it has been brilliant - I think I mentioned this before - but they want to take it out simply because I'm 50 and it's been in 7 years. I'm all for leaving well alone especially given how chaotic life seems to be at the moment.

Turned up for orthodentists appointment with DS only to find it was shut and the cleaning lady was there - I must have noted the appointment on the wrong day Confused.

hattymattie · 24/04/2014 10:54

Somebody witty needs to think of a new thread name.

QueenQueenie · 24/04/2014 11:05

Waterloo Bar and Kitchen to ring the changes? But either good.
I would like to come and can escape domestic servitude tomorrow in favour of a crepey night out.
Someone decisive just tell me when and where...

QueenQueenie · 24/04/2014 11:07

We need MI if you want witty!

My offering is "Nobody Puts Crepey In The Corner"
Or maybe "It's Not Over 'Til The Fat Crepey Sings"

bigTillyMint · 24/04/2014 11:10

I am decisiveGrin

Waterloo Bar and Kitchen at 6pm (thinking BD won't want to be hanging around after the museum and I would also like to escape domestic servitude!) Unless BD/MI veto it, I will book later!

bigTillyMint · 24/04/2014 11:11

After the Easter choccies, maybe it should be the latterGrin

herbaceous · 24/04/2014 11:17

I'm still holding out for 'Wattle (as in neck) and Daub (as in make up)'.

hattymattie · 24/04/2014 11:23

Love nobody puts crepey in a corner - BD - not sure I like the idea of myself wattle and daubing - even if it's true.

Blackduck · 24/04/2014 12:58

Waterloo bar and kitchen good for me - can someone(BTM) pm me time/ place as agreed?

oh flaming I suppose
just noticed it as I am usually on my phone.

have been browsing lavender mascara Rudy. Where is yours from?

motherinferior · 24/04/2014 15:44

I love both of Qqs. DP on a late tomorrow, I think, so I may have to pass on meeting.

On way back from funeral, frantically reading PDFs on tiny screen in hope of looking coherent. Funeral itself was good; in all honesty if someone reaches 99 in fine form - her health only deteriorated in the last few months, she was catching buses to concerts at 98 - it is a life fully and well lived, and the grieving is sad but not bitter, if you see what I mean. I've been to too many funerals where there was real tragedy; this was a good send-off. And we sang wellSmile
