Thank you so much for all the blog, hair and make-up tips. Have just been into town and picked up some new mascara and eye liner, dusky pink lipstick (have enough red lipsticks to fill a draw!), black square earrings and red sunglasses.

And after promising myself that I would not spend any more money online this money, have just ordered a pair of black high waisted jeans (I have them in blue already), red striped T shirt and red leather 70s style handbag.

What with the 3 LadyV Day dresses on their way I'm scared to add up how I've spent this month!

I just sold my pair of those collectif jeans :)

Oops, sorry Chelvis!

I have the same problem with my hair, it's a shorter than yours, but very thick, so waves tend to drop out very quickly. It looks good and stays reasonably well if backcombed, but I don't really like doing that too much.

LadyPenelopeCreightonWard · 29/03/2014 15:36

I have a vintage shop right at the end of my road, I'm tempted to go for a rummage now.

Although last time I went they had something marked "1988 - vintage". That made me feel quite old...

ThePortlyPinUp · 29/03/2014 15:47

We'll I've just been up and tried on a polka dot Polly dress that dp bought me last year which was too tight and I can get it I on and zipped up, I know what I'm wearing now tonight :)

Waves, I have you on Fb portly I am also a Norwich mnetter. You always look fab, I like 50'style so am looking links! I have a big bust though and prefer lower cut necks as anything high gives me the mono boobs look, size 10/12 on bottom I am an hour glass shape.

ThePortlyPinUp · 29/03/2014 16:33

Have you tried the rock collection in Norwich, they have a fab selection of dresses especially in your size :)

Is that the shop down upper goat lane? Or is it lower goat lane? Near Tesco express?

5madthings · 29/03/2014 17:26

Just googled yrs it's the one on upper goat lane. I need to go and have a look without kids!

ThePortlyPinUp · 29/03/2014 17:28

Yeah it's brilliant, they had gorgeous hell bunny skirts and dresses for a tenner on the sale rail, it looks really gothy but they have a good range of frocks :)

It's where Andy's Records used to be, I bought my first LP from there,a WOW by bananarama, I love that lane!

5madthings · 29/03/2014 17:34

Ha ha yes the old Andy's record shop! They had some funky bags in their window the other day and they do cool tights. It looks more goth from the window, didn't realise they did other stuff as well.

AlwaysSleepingBeauty · 29/03/2014 18:02

Has anyone tried the day dresses from Lady V please? I've seen lots of pictures online of people in the swing style but am struggling to visualize the day style on!

Sleeping Beauty, I have just bought two Day dresses from Lady V so I will tell you in a couple of days. I might even post a photo if I'm feeling brave...and they fit.
Hurrah!! I have spent most of the afternoon drooling over dresses(in between watching the dc's).
What does everyone wear on their feet? I am 5ft 10 so I don't really need a heel day to day but are plain pumps a bit boring? I do have a lot of pumps I could use.

AlwaysSleepingBeauty · 29/03/2014 20:15

Thank you Clara. I am eyeing up the navy floral one in the sale.

Clarabumps · 29/03/2014 20:37

That's the one I bought. And another sale on with red flowers on it.
Great taste.

Clarabumps · 29/03/2014 20:37

CallingAllEngels · 30/03/2014 09:30

always I am also waiting for ladyv day dresses. Ordered 12 which was too samll, though style was lovely so sent back and reordered in a 14. I did think the material was very thin though, so need a slip to go under it. I ordered the blue butterfly, the orange poppy and the blue dragonfly.

I have just had DH in stitches in my first attempt at liquid liner in 10 years! I think I need to practise (and watch lots of tutorials).

ThePortlyPinUp · 30/03/2014 11:29

Korma I'm a fatty, I'm a size 20/22 and shop at collectif (up to a 24) Hell Bunny (a 4xl is a 22) Lindy Bop (up to 22) Miss Fortunes XXL cardigans fit too. Vivien of Holloway do a vintage size 24 which is about an 18/20 in modern sizing, also there are loads of custom sites which make to measure, Polka Dot Polly, Luckey 13 on FB (their spelling not mine) There is a couple of Chinese brands I use too, Chicstar and Queen of Holloway both do very good range of sizes.

Not clothing but dd1 has bought me a rather fine Victorian print of a bat for Mother's Day ! Made this ex goth very happy

Clarabumps · 30/03/2014 14:34

I have just purchased some cardigans to go with my pencil skirts. Not exactly 50's but a good staple for everyday wear as I live in Scotland by the sea and its fricking FREEZING all the time. I bought some plain colours and a leopard print one.
Anyone else bought anything else nice as it's pay weekend?
