Dry not much to add to everyone else's wisdom, but remember you love the shoes so they must be "you" in some way! Maybe at the moment you can't see past the perceived "fierceness", so you think that they're not working, when it's just that they're not working in that way but they would in another? ie a way that's more you.

I think I would give them a try with skinnies and a crepe shell top (you know, the ones DMBL40 likes, this sort of shape)

libertychick · 11/03/2014 22:29

Grin at Shop getting a key to novice's place.
Night all.

Drywhiteplease · 11/03/2014 22:45

Thanks all for your help. I feel exhausted by those sandals and may call AOStories to see if I can return them since I haven't worn them out yet, but got rid of the packaging idiot.
If they say no then I'll keep trying . Some lovely links. Thanks.

AmberNectarine · 12/03/2014 08:07

Those sandals remind me of the Dior(?) gladiators SJP wore a lot in the first SATC film with anything and everything. I like santa's suggestion of wearing them with florals actually.

Thanks QueenC, that top is nearly perfect but I can't do drop shoulders. Hopey the Espirit ones will work out. Turns out I'm nearly as fussy as shop when it comes to Bretons!

Dry I bought two pairs of shoes from &other Strories in the sales & both have killed my feet

Have only worn each once - one were black platform heels that I was only wearing around the office and kept falling off my feet, they were so heavy. The others were some green suede flats that were hurting my feet so badly that at lunch I bought another pair of shoes to wear for the rest of the day.

AM staying clear of their shoes in future

LinusDKD · 12/03/2014 09:53

Morning!

I tried to find those bretons this morning in our local Esprit store but no such luck! Am tempted myself but would like to see them IRL.

MarshaBrady · 12/03/2014 09:55

Morning!

Dry I can understand how you feel about the sandals. It's not your mojo if I bought something edgy I'd really struggle. I couldn't wear them, even if I thought they were fab. Eek that's probably not very helpful, but you are classic and chic and that is lovely as it is.

In terms of styling, skinnies better than bfs and adore Justa's last HL one.

MarshaBrady · 12/03/2014 10:30

Santa I adore your outfit, Bruno and G Rossi heels. Think it would look fab. Makes me rather Envy so nice

BrandyAlexander · 12/03/2014 11:05

Morning! Dry, you and I are both classic dressers. Neither of us does edgy but I wouldn't give up on those sandals yet. They remind me of my Brian Atwoods from last year. They are say, far more Sleep than me on paper but I managed to rock them all last summer

LinusDKD · 12/03/2014 11:09

Anyone a size 27 and looking for boyfriend jeans?

MiH Phoebe

A real bargain but I think you'd have to be tall to pull this look off.

MarshaBrady · 12/03/2014 11:54

Have been paid! Excellent!

So time to do spring wardrobe. after paying huge amount to nursery.

Taking all suggestions for bleached out skinnies and anything springy. I seem to have an allergic reaction to fp anything these days so discounts welcome. Thanks

Sleepwhenidie · 12/03/2014 12:01

Gah! I blame you lot for all your outnet chat, have just caved on shopping ban and ordered several tops and a sweater from the Outnet Blush - not even in clearance! looking forward to my parcel arriving though Smile

Am v tempted by this dress - v pretty, not my usual style though. Those who have met me, reckon I'd pull it off, with pistols or flat sandals when warmer Confused?

Dry, I agree with novice - don't give up on the sandals, I think maybe you just need to practice and get used to them being different from usual style, they will look great with jeans and T, I think maybe heavier tops are too much with the sandal, needs lightening up?

Haven't had a chance to got through all the other links, must catch up!

BlairWaldorfLovesShopping · 12/03/2014 13:55

Hi all

Linus that's a true bargain! I have my slim Phoebes here in Matches box (I definitely can't pull off the wide leg ones - they even looked a bit odd on WIT imo) and can't wait to try them on later.

Gorgeous dress Sleep and I think it would look good with both the shoes you suggested - can't comment on on you though! Links to the outnet bargains?

Marsha re bleached skinnies do you mean like this? These are also quite pale but I like the colour of the J brands better.

libertychick · 12/03/2014 14:28

Marsha I know you are not a high street girl usually but I keep hearing good things about River Island denim and at [[http://www.riverisland.com/women/sale/jeans/Light-wash-Amelie-superskinny-jeans--637224 £20 these might be worth a try??]. They have lots of light coloured jeans on their website ATM.

And this MSGM T-Shirt might not be your usual style but just screams Spring to me and the colours are gorgeous.

Sleep I'd need to see you in the dress! Colour is great, it would look good with pistols but very different to your usual look. It's a gorgeous dress. although £200 is a lot for 100% viscose

libertychick · 12/03/2014 14:30

link fail!

BlairWaldorfLovesShopping · 12/03/2014 14:44

Just bought these after trying to for about a week - the Aldo website is a pig to order from. Finally managed to get them to accept my paypal details. TAKE MY MONEY DAMMIT!

liberty that MSGM t shirt is so pretty.

MarshaBrady · 12/03/2014 14:58

lol at take my money Grin

Blair they look really good. Yes think I prefer the J Brand maybe, even though I am still hankering after some Frames. I saw a pin the other day that I should have pinned dammit, looser really bleached ones. Never let a pin go dammit! Really nice Aldos.

Liberty I love that MSGM tshirt and it's now on the list. I can't see the River Island ones for some reason.

Sleep love the dress, what did you get from the outnet? come on spill Grin

I've decided to go in to Matches and do a big try on.. skinnies, dress, tshirt and panama. Must not buy in store however as I imagine they still do credit only which is bonkers.

MarshaBrady · 12/03/2014 14:59

What is everyone wearing today on this glorious day?

I've cracked out the charity shop Yohji army green jacket (at £160 Shock cough splutter, tg you can just offload old but good condition designery stuff and got it for £5). With grey blk dnm skinnies, orange mnv jumper (remember that? Needs de-bobbling) and fresh new and clean pale suede pettys.

Sleepwhenidie · 12/03/2014 15:00

Oh - links!

tank 1
sweater
tank 2
orange

£200 is steep for viscose Lib I agree...I have a 15% code for 2 days but even with that....

Think the MGSM T would look lovely on you Marsha

MarshaBrady · 12/03/2014 15:13

Brilliant Sleep, love all of those.

Drywhiteplease · 12/03/2014 15:25

Well I now officially LOVE AOStories. Phoned up CS and explained what an idiot I am and they said I can send them back in my own packaging! How fantastic!
You are all very kind and I appreciate your help, but Novice and Marsha and anyone else who knows my style are all right. I'm not a fierce dresser, happy to settle for "classic, chic" thanks MsBrady . Any item of clothing that requires so much thought isn't worth the effort.....I need to really love something to keep it.

Sleep what a comeback! Fabulous links. ESP the autumn stripe cashmere, lovely.
