I am getting married abroad this summer, and want a very unusual dress. I am currently a size 14 but hope to trim down a but!

I love this dress www.pinterest.com/pin/452611831272479247/
Hopefully that link will work! I can't find out where to get the dress from.. any ideas? Or any similar dresses for inspiration?

I think it looks amazing but not sure about the dramatic colour.

Ujjayi · 24/02/2014 15:05

You could get something similar made for you. That is a very straightforward dress to make (it's basically a corset with a two layer skirt, one of which is ruched up). Any good dressmaker/independent designer could either draft their own pattern or could adapt a commercial version.

It is by Cherlone. They sell on eBay here

I love that colour green Smile

FreakinScaryCaaw · 24/02/2014 15:14

Wow what a bargain! I'll be looking at them when I get married.

DangerousMouse · 24/02/2014 16:21

Thank you so much woolly for finding it! Now, shoes...

bronze?
very limited sizes
and again but more in the pewter
dare I suggest these in these in the bronze
these?

DangerousMouse · 24/02/2014 22:52

I like the idea of bronze, the ones with limited sizes would be good but they don't have my size.. It needs a strap, not a court shoe, love love love the unusual ones but don't have my size in bronze.

it was inspired by this one www.pinterest.com/pin/269723465152818027/

cuttingpicassostoenails · 25/02/2014 12:51

What a fabulous dress! You will look stunning. I would have loved that as a dress when I got married but unfortunately 1972 was not a good year for sexy green wedding dresses...sigh.

DangerousMouse · 25/02/2014 13:00

I'm having second thoughts.. about the dress not the wedding! Do you think it might be a bit cheap looking in real life? It's going to be very hot so maybe not the best idea.

How about this one? Love the blue with red shoes.. where is it from? How do you tell where things from pintrest are from?

OP posts:
ChaffinchOfDoom · 25/02/2014 13:03

yes...simple and flowing if v v hot, not lacy corsets, possibly

will it be in a church? hotel? on sand?

DangerousMouse · 25/02/2014 13:06

It's in a town hall in Tuscany, I think the light blue dress would work better.

Do you know it's meant to be bad luck to get married in green?

Pinkandwhite · 25/02/2014 13:17

You can get similar dresses here:

I absolutely love the dress. If you love the green, do it up!

FreakinScaryCaaw · 25/02/2014 13:19

Some nice dresses here.

nevergoogle · 25/02/2014 13:20

bad luck or not, we're still married.

in fact because we had a humanist ceremony we ditched all superstitious stuff/symbolism from our wedding entirely. we didn't even do wedding rings.

DangerousMouse · 25/02/2014 13:24

I think the green one might be a bit dark, the blue one on pintrest would work well with my figure, I like the cut and should hold my belly in. How do you find out where things are from on pintrest?

OP posts:
nevergoogle · 25/02/2014 13:27

you can click on the picture, it eventually takes you to the source of the photograph.

DangerousMouse · 25/02/2014 13:39

Not working for that picture.. This is why I don't lie pintrest, so many good ideas it's frustrating not being able to use them!
