Exciting jeans discovery. Had to share.

So, for the past 20 odd years I've bought jeans from the same old places.

At 41 and a size 12/14 I find topshop jeans are too tight and low cut on the waist although I live in its Cory jeans, which I don't think they make anymore. H&M jeans are horrendous on me and French Connection's sizes vary so wildly I gave up on its jeans years ago.

Last week I popped into Next to get some kids clothes and spotted a pair of dark blue denial skinny jeans. Had no hope they'd look ok as I never buy clothes for myself from there as I find the range too frumpy. So guess what? Not only do they fit like a dream, they've magically slimmed my hips and thighs down and what's more, they were just £20!

So impressed, I've just bought another pair.

Really?! Denial, you say- are they the relaxed skinny jeans or something different? I had a baby 6 months ago and am generally wider!

They've got the right amount of stretch but are constructed enough to disguise the bloody awful saddlebags.

and just 20 quid? I'm looking on the website now..

I'm a fan of them too - I only ever buy those. The slightly more expensive ones don't fit as well :)

how skinny are they? I like a high waisted skinny jean, used to wear Topshop Kristen but they've stopped making them (and they went down the pan anyway) and the Jamie ones are too skinny, but a lot of 'skinny' jeans I've tried just aren't skinny at all.

They're not skinny, skinny. Sort of a mix between skinny and straight leg.

I love uniqlo ultra stretch jeans - especially as they'll hem them to the right length! But always like trying a new recommendation...

uniqlo ones look good. What's the material like, I find a lot of jeans these days are made out of really thin material which for the winter, and feeble old me, isn't very good!

That's what u like about them-the material is pretty substantial so is thick enough to hold the wobbly bits in.

I live in Next jeans. They're pretty much the only thing I ever buy from therer these days but they fit me perfectly, especially the higher waisted ones, which hold it all in beautifully!

Sally, do you mind if I ask how tall you are? I am wondering which leg length to go for.

I'm 5ft 4 and they're jjust t right length in regular.

I love next jeans , I have some on at the moment but they were abit more than £20. They are the high waisted double button slimmer ones. So comfy but look great too.
