shop it'll only be for a short amount of time that you have to cart spare clothes and wet stuff about so I would either continue using your change bag. If you really want a new one then definitely go for a le pliage or a large handbag. I always have a tote/shopper rather than cross body with me when with the dc as even at 6 and 8 I'm still carrying drinks around unless I want to buy them everywhere we go. When I need to carry spare clothes when potty train I'll just use a sainsburys jute shopping bag or my tesco owl bag orla keily shopper or a canvas book bag. I'd personally go for camel or taupe le pliage if I were you and keep in neutral.

one well done on the continued weight loss.

QueenCadbury · 17/02/2014 17:56

maradesbois night time wetting hasn't been achieved in the Cadbury household and they're 6 and 8. Currently under the paeds and it's a case of waiting for the hormone to kick in.

Decameron · 17/02/2014 18:02

DD1 took ages to potty train (I found the GF book useful too), she was 3 by the time she got it. DD2 is still in nappies but she seems to get it.

Shop, I love my le Pliage, am planning to get a new one as the pink Burberry is not going to happen, realistically! They only usually last me about a year but I carry around all DD2's stuff in them and fling them on the ground at playgrounds etc (I prefer them to baby changing bags). I have the shopper, I think, with the long handles. You can have my taupe one if you want it, though it has worn at the corners, there's life in the old bag yet! I usually get them at Heathrow with 20% off. Glad you like your orange bag, lovely pop of colour.

Nearly had a heart attack earlier, DD2 opened the car door while I was driving. I thought DH had set the child lock but he hadn't! Anyway, we made it to the shopping centre and I bought this as there is 20% off in M&S knitwear today, not terribly exciting but good with jeans.

Hope you hear soon, One!

Decameron · 17/02/2014 18:04

I stick DD2 in nappies going out, which I probably shouldn't do as she gets it at home.

shopafrolic · 17/02/2014 18:07

Decam happy to take the taupe off your hands - it'd be a good way to try it too...... PM me and let me know how much you'd like for it?

shopafrolic · 17/02/2014 18:08

Bloody hell Decam that sounds scary - makes mental note to check child locks again

AmberNectarine · 17/02/2014 18:11

I've got a large Pliage too shop, though I mostly use my Kanken or Vanessa Bruno Cabas for kid stuff these days.

novice DS entrenched in poo phobia at the moment - frigging nightmare eh?

QueenCadbury · 17/02/2014 18:14

decam dd had done that too. She thought it was hilarious. Dh and I not so much.

shop by directing me to longchamp I'm now thinking this may be the bag I'm after with my birthday money. Cross body and clutch. Just not sure that the pink is the right shade though.

GrumpyOldHorsewoman · 17/02/2014 18:24

Soooo glad potty training days are well behind me. Both DDs were very easy - I was lucky.

Linus I love that jumpsuit! Very tempted indeed - lovely colour too.

Shit Decam, that'd scare the bejesus out of you!

Super news on the weight loss one - kudos.

Decameron · 17/02/2014 18:25

I got such a fright! We have had the car a year, we were just lucky she didn't do it before. I should have double checked. Lovely bag, QueenC.

It is in ok condition, Shop, I have just dug it out. I didn't use it as much as the blue one, which is falling apart but I didn't treat it well. Do you want to pm me your email address and I will send you photos?

shopafrolic · 17/02/2014 18:27

Done Decam

Annianni · 17/02/2014 18:32

Good luck with ds Shop, i've been trying to get ds2 on the loo for 6 months or so, with no success... he has had poo-ing issues though, which we've sort of cracked now.

I'm thinking of waiting for the better weather, and just sticking him outside in pants for the day.
While the house is full of old granny carpets downstairs, I can't be arsed with the mess :o
(i'm not really a bad mother, honest...)

Matches emailed me this morning, saying an item from my wishlist was back in stock... Frame le garcon so I have to try them... must get ebaying tomorrow if they fit!

My boden cashmere is here, it's a lovely jumper. Will try it properly tomorrow.

Drywhiteplease · 17/02/2014 18:56

Evening! help ima in the kitchen with a much needed glass of Wine I have been very nice today. I think I'll be ok! Smile
So....to catch up.....
Shop stick with it! potty training was the hardest part of being a mother for me! even teenagers are easier.....I don't do mess and it took longer than a week for DS. I am a great shoulder to wail on as I experienced everything that could go wrong so can completely sympathise. Sounds like you're doing well though. X and Le Pilage sounds just what you need.
Grumpy I love the waiter look, poor you, the chicest woman and part of MNV....how VERY dare they!!!!
Justa I have a white chenille arm chair.....ridiculous purchase but I wanted it,denim is an enemy, only a upholstery cleaner is up to the job. I can completely sympathise.
linus love your rant!
Queenc potty training in one day Shock I'm not bitter........10 years later
Novice soft playShock you're a brave woman! hope you survived.
Decameron car door....scary, hope you're ok.
Secretsquirrel I think I actually love you.

And Uma.....bloody hell her boobs were out off control!

AmberNectarine · 17/02/2014 19:00

decameron DD does that whenever I forget the child lock - most memorably on the M4. That was a fun lurch onto the hard shoulder.

LinusDKD · 17/02/2014 19:08

decam wow that must have been terrifying!

I need to ask DH to check the child locks again no idea how to check them myself

QueenCadbury · 17/02/2014 19:34

dry potty training in one day? I wish! I'll be starting on Thursday (away for next 2 nights) but finishing goodness knows when....

BrandyAlexander · 17/02/2014 19:58

Hello all! I turned up 2 hours early for my flight! This has never ever happened! My PA was somewhat traumatised by the last trip when I almost missed outward and return flight so I think this is her revenge!

Shop, ds has been trained for a couple months but I still carry spare joggers, pants and socks in my bag. By the way, joggers are your friends when you are potty training boys. We picked up a whole load of them cheap from Primark. Also, get pants in his favourite characters, so ds has got fireman Sam ones (amazon), Thomas and friends (boots) and Mickey Mouse (Disney shop) and then we got cheap ones from Primark.

Bag wise, I tend to use the tote that mil got me for Xmas, or similar (Mulberry mitzy and Aspinal biker).

Speaking of bags, I am clutching the Pashli and really glad I kept it. I need my laptop on this trip and it's a night flight so have lounge pants etc as well as well as all sorts of other crap. I skyped dh and the dcs earlier and told dh I am wearing my uggs. I am in first lounge and the way his face did this--->Shock you would think I just told him I had crapped on the floorGrin

Speaking of poos, Amber you have my every sympathy. Dd's poo phobia was a nightmare. It's normally boys who got it so I was quite happy not to potty train ds rather than go through that again! Only moving house and not wanting to do it in new house persuaded me!

Finally, well done to One and hope Marsha is having a lovely time with her sisters and family.Smile

Drywhiteplease · 17/02/2014 20:25

Shop yes! buy really cheap pants and just bin them when there's a poo accident .....for DS I mean of course Grin

Mignonette · 17/02/2014 20:38

at Drys teenagers are easier re potty training.

This morning I had to chop up the enormous Hindenberg sized turd that the 19yr old failed to flush at 6 a.m as he merrily set off for work.

I had to chop it up with a length of bamboo pole from the garden because it was too large to negotiate the U bend.

I called him at work to ask him how he managed to cycle after the Epidural I was sure he had to have administered in order to deliver it.

Oh and he had an Indian last night too.

shopafrolic · 17/02/2014 20:44

Woooooopoopoopoopoop!
Day 1, six changes of clothes in for DS this morning and he has this afternoon cracked wees on the potty. Fingers crossed poos are as easy tomorrow! After a horrific morning he is super proud now. Top tips novice et al. Thanks. You're all brilliant.

Mignonette · 17/02/2014 20:45

My Boden order turned up this morning. Hung on the back door because the dogs deafening screams of outrage obviously made him decide against venturing further. My sons dog has such a deep bark it is like he has swallowed Brian Blessed and he is shouting to be let out.

I wore the green skater skirt ( not THAT skater really) with a dark red and cream striped wool Margaret Howell top and black Nora Batty tights. I am going to try it with a pale pink linen and cotton pussy cat bow sweater tomorrow. Just to look even more like I dressed in the dark.

BrandyAlexander · 17/02/2014 20:46

I am sorry Mig but that made me roar with laughter!!! Sorry again!

Fedupnagging · 17/02/2014 20:47

Good luck to those potty training. Ds1 and ds3 were relatively easy. Ds2 not so easy. Am still mortified, 15yrs later, by ds2 having a poo in a crowded, posh pub garden. Although not as disgusted as my friend and her very perfect daughter!

Decameron and Amber Shock.

Novice think you need Wine after braving soft play.

Accidently bought this and this in navy today. Any further purchases were scuppered as we booked a 3 week holiday to the west coast of USA. am ridiculously excited

Once dh gets over the shock, normal spending will resume. Grin

Mignonette · 17/02/2014 20:47

Novice

I can still smell it clinging to my nostril hairs Grin

Mignonette · 17/02/2014 20:47

The smell clinging, not actual cling ons. I didn't put my sons poop up my nose.
