Hi,

I was thinking the other day about how important scent is in a product. I particularly hate the smell of palmers but I use it anyway because it really helps my scaly legs. Xmas Blush

What products do you hate the smell of?

I’m glad I’m not the only one ladyEloise1 👍

Immac! When I was a teenager (so about 30 years ago)- smell was revolting! Haven’t thought about it for ages-don’t know if it even exists now but oh, it was terrible. I can smell it now 🤢!

Aussie hair products especially 3 minute miracle smells like cats wee

Anything with lavender in it-it makes me heave

My mother once got me to buy her fave perfume-18 something (green old fashioned Victorian bottle)
It was bloody foul-it stank of the dentist

8 hour cream

Next did a lipstick set-it was disgusting-really smelt of old fashioned make up-it was over powering

White musk-my mother wears it to cover up the fact she pisses herself and doesn’t use shower gel as she’s ‘allergic’ to anything scented (bollocks) so she smells of white musk,b.o and piss

I can’t stand the smell of nail polish either

Elnett hairspray - I find it suffocating.

milkyaqua · 02/03/2022 01:02

For some reason, Nivea have taken to 'scenting' a lot of their products - even face cream! - with what smells to me like the old aftershave for men, Brut.

milkyaqua · 02/03/2022 01:03

Oh! Someone dug this one up from 2014! 2014...

LetHimHaveIt · 02/03/2022 01:30

I wish they'd left it there. Never seen such a load of hysterical bollocks in my life. All this retching and dry-heaving left, right and centre 🙄

Downunderduchess · 02/03/2022 01:57

Jo Malone Lime Basil & Mandarin body lotion, disgusting, I gave it straight to my neighbour who loved it. I couldn’t stop scrubbing my arm to get the stench off.

Most Estée Lauder perfumes. Lancôme Miracle, too sharp. Also cocoa butter scented products.

The smell of meat cooking, horrible.

alexdgr8 · 02/03/2022 02:17

patchouli oil

UniversalAunt · 02/03/2022 03:54

Lush.

Cannot even walk past a Lush shop without wanting to heave.
Particularly bad are open front Lush in railway stations.

Used to be one in Liverpool Street concourse, blighted the Pret etc nearby.

UniversalAunt · 02/03/2022 03:55

Even worse the smell of Zombies in the Morning! 😀

Lush still stinks.

What an awful post.

Anyway this is from 2014.

Wagsandclaws · 02/03/2022 10:16

Sol de janiro, Brazillian bum bum cream.

I loved it at first but it's so strong and so highly scented that I've gone right off it which is a shame as I've still got half a large pot left and it's not cheap.

GettingStuffed · 02/03/2022 10:59

I have an Elizabeth Arden serum sample, I'm going to use it up but I'd never buy it. It just stinks.
