Going to a friend's 40th tomorrow. It's fancy dress and MI gave me an utterly inspired idea.

Bloody hell, I've walked back into the 1980s. My DCs are utterly scornful of any music that isn't on the current play list of KissFM, I'm afraid.

DH is still firmly an 80s man - play AHa at a wedding and he is up on the dance floor leaping about like a crazy man.

All those NYE shenanigans....I really couldn't be arsed to get involved.

In S&B news I bought some boots in the Clark's sale but they are too shiny and the reviews are shocking so they are going back today!

Interestingly enough the only other friends I've asked about this, some years ago when the girls were quite little, said kindly perhaps I was being a bit U and that it wasn't for long and it is a huge part of his life. I know that if I wanted to go to choir summer school he'd be fully supportive. But that's the thing. Logistically - time and money - I'd find it hard to commit to a similar week.

Also, MI, don't you have the same amount of money? He may earn more but I bet you contribute more than he does in terms of keeping the show on the road.

Have already forgotten the explanation of what went on on NYE but not how hurt I was by Mo(u)ldygate. I was a regular on a thread similar to this (but not as good) and everyone just vanished without explanation, leaving me to wander around, plaintively squeaking 'where are you all?'. Not a word, not a pm. Disproportionately upset when I eventually got the message.

Am told they have all been back under different guises - glad I no longer know who they are.
