I couldn't see that anyone else had started a new thread, after Stropps carelessly finished the old one without starting a new one, so here you are. Xmas GrinXmas GrinXmas Grin

Aha - found you all! I'm not supposed to be here as I have this afternoon off work and am planning to Accomplish Christmas by 7pm tonight. Chances are slim, but I'm travelling hopefully.

motherinferior · 17/12/2013 13:23

I was supposed to be editing today. Copy not back with me yet. No, I can't do at 5pm today as I have to dash to Sainsbury's with the Inferiorettes to buy Christmas presents for all their friends leave work early and tomorrow I can do it but do have DD2's last primary Christmas play a morning meeting.

bigTillyMintspie · 17/12/2013 13:35

MI have messaged you!

Blackduck · 17/12/2013 13:41

I found it - but don't like those colours :)

bigTillyMintspie · 17/12/2013 13:42

BD, where did the link take you?

Blackduck · 17/12/2013 13:45

Yahoo login Grin but I went to the site myself ;)

motherinferior · 17/12/2013 13:48

Took me to Yahoo login too Grin nothing confidential.

Not even my bank account.

bigTillyMintspie · 17/12/2013 14:10

phew! Thanks - I was thinking everyone could see into my Yahoo account!

herbaceous · 17/12/2013 14:15

Afternoon, crepesters. Just returned from Westfield, where I accomplished all christmas shopping. That sounds better than it is: I just bought a few more toys for DS, Terre d'Hermes for DP, two pairs of gloves for Sis, and a ceramic knife for Strange Cousin.

We have a 'names out of hat' system chez Herbaceous, so each person only has to buy for one other. Kiddies also have to do it.

Excuse typing. I sliced my finger on super-sharp ceramic knife on Sunday, and it kept on bleeding, most recently over our local Tesco Express this morning. The nice till lady gave me a huge blue plaster, which is most efficacious, but does make typing hard.

lalsy · 17/12/2013 14:45

I have just skived off had a morning meeting too. Spent so much in waterstones that on producing two battered old cards wuth stamps in, they gave me a new one with three filled in, 20 quid off and a voucher for free hot drink and seasonal cake. Crepeys, I can't tell you how good free seasonal cake makes you feel

motherinferior · 17/12/2013 14:55

It's free. It's cake. What's not to like?

I am lycanthropic again Grin

Blackduck · 17/12/2013 15:19

I am stranded at hotel awaiting manager as we can't get the safe in the room open --- ahhhhhhh!!!

Sent dp and ds off for some bonding as they appear to be doing a lot of arguing at the moment......

Okay crepeys quick job poll:
A. Stay in current job - like it, good colleagues (largely), good T&Cs, chance of secondment to next level
B. New job - is the next level, nearer home, but commute only marginally shorter, less money (and top of scale so nowhere to go), smaller org, but potential to expand skills set

A or B - cast your votes....

bigTillyMintspie · 17/12/2013 15:32

I am looking forward to my next trip to JL - free cake and coffee with my membership card here I come!

bigTillyMintspie · 17/12/2013 15:34

Well, if job B is not much quicker commute and it's less money, the only thing that is better is career development?

Job A is looking good, especially if there is a chance of secondment?

And I think you would have jumped at job B if you had really wanted itWink, but maybe a change would do you good?

lalsy · 17/12/2013 15:50

I think BTM is right about the job - the advantages of B sound potential whereas advantages of A sound definite - is that right?. So unless B makes you feel very excited/you work in a field where getting jobs is not a problem........better the devil you know perhaps??

Does a shiny new Waitrose card give me free JL coffee?

addle · 17/12/2013 16:07

A third for A unless you v excited about B.

MI - why lycanthropic?

motherinferior · 17/12/2013 16:14

Yes, it sounds as if in fact hanging on in A will give you better opportunities in the next year or so.

motherinferior · 17/12/2013 16:14

Scouse brows, MI?Grin

bigTillyMintspie · 17/12/2013 17:01

Rudy, can you come and do our side return in the spring?!

Blackduck · 17/12/2013 17:02

Ha ha re pressure washing :).
Here am in a mañana situation waiting on safe man (rolls eyes) but at least dp and ds seem to be on better terms.....

Hmm, yes, I think I'm scared to turn down b in case in never get offered another job - stupid I know...

hattymattie · 17/12/2013 18:20

Hi Crepeys - have rushed off and bought DH jumper - unoriginal I know but it is a very nice jumper, and scarf which I would like to see him in. Then bought DD2 super expensive wallet only to realise on getting home that DS has bought DD2 a cheap and cheeky version of the same. I cannot believe I'm so stupid - so it's back to square one for DD2. Hmm

BD - job A.

lalsy · 17/12/2013 18:38

Pressure washing sounds really good fun - can you hire them?
