I couldn't see that anyone else had started a new thread, after Stropps carelessly finished the old one without starting a new one, so here you are. Xmas GrinXmas GrinXmas Grin

Herbs, just been watching that! The couples were indeed very annoying!

The house in Wanstead Flats looked like a good newbuild and I loved the house in Dunmow(?), but 30 miles either way to the boys schoolShock Or was it a boarding school?

Cremo, that is lucky! I am rubbish at Pilates. Actually, there is loads of stuff you can do to build your core (DD is the expert with her gym training!), but it is mostly Hard WorkGrin

bigTillyMint · 07/01/2014 21:14

Whinge away CremoSmile

And my legs are already feeling stiff after circuits!

Stropperella · 07/01/2014 21:26

Crem, you poor thing. The pool sounds like a good plan. Hope the physio can give you some exercises to do in the pool. And good luck to your dd for her exam.

I have just been to circuits for the first time in a fortnight (enforced break as the school where the classes are held closes completely over Christmas) and feel rather wobbly in all senses. Am off for a hot bath as otherwise everything may seize up imminently.

Stropperella · 07/01/2014 21:29

Auriga, hope something happens to break your repeating cycle of sleepless nights and migraines. You sound as though you are in bad need of a break.

The Benefit plum mascara is a good colour for those with fair skin and light coloured eyes. I loved the colour, but hate wearing mascara because I've never found one that doesn't migrate around my face. I've got very deep-set teeny-weeny eyes, which I must rub a lot. I just find makeup to be .. hard work and a lot of a faff, but every few months I go through a bit of a phase of trying to suss it out (until the next time I catch sight of myself with bits of mascara stuck all over my cheeks Blush )

bigTillyMint · 07/01/2014 22:04

Rudy, that's what I think I need to do - a 1:1 session as I don't really get how to do the moves in a big groupBlush

Yes, Auriga, hope you get a good night tonight.

I used to wear navy mascara - maybe I'll try it again. One of my little lovelies pointed out (very diplomatically!) to me that my mascara had smudged this morning - think it was my eyes smarting in the wind!

MrsSchadenfreude · 07/01/2014 23:58

Crem, may I offer you WineWineWine? It sounds as if you need it.

Took cat to the vet tonight. Didn't like him - it seemed like "how much money can I screw out of you?" It cost me £104 for antibiotics and painkillers, plus £22 to have the peed on duvet cleaned.

Arrived home to find an ambulance outside, trying to take man upstairs (who has Alzheimers and cancer) to hospital. Sad He didn't want to go, and sat there playing sad things on the piano. They were there for hours - not sure if he eventually went, as we had to take DD1 back to school, where she was immediately surrounded by lots of girls with long swishy hair and hugged. (This is the child who claims to have no friends.)

Out tomorrow night with very old friend whose wife doesn't like me. He is not drinking, apparently, and will explain why tomorrow. So as he is not drinking, we are going out for dinner. Grin

Have just bought Grumpy Old Menopause for my Kindle Smile

motherinferior · 08/01/2014 11:29

BTM, I did pilates with a fab teacher whose contact details I still have. Not 1:1 but really small ratio and v individually tailored.

Have taken DD2 to GP who concluded that she is a Shortarse Grin and probably going to go on being a Shortarse. I love our GP. She was sympathetic but not unduly concerned. Maybe now I can get on with some work after spending an unnecessary hour loitering among coughing people....

bigTillyMint · 08/01/2014 11:51

That's good news MI - hopefully it will satisfy your DP!

Blackduck · 08/01/2014 11:57

Hi All - Cremo sorry to hear things aren't good ;(

BTM thanks for PM - and MI :) at you recalling I am a veggie....

Stropps I am on the No7 BB too! Not sure what I think as I put it on this morning in the semi dark......

MI - good news on dd - tell dp to talk to the gp if he won't let up.

I am thinking of finding out about our local private pool as I need to do some exercise......

motherinferior · 08/01/2014 12:13

Cremo and Auriga, I do hope you feel a bit better soon.

I myself am having rather horrid nights; having said smugly I'd stopped the hot flushes I'm now alternating between being freezing and being utterly hot and sweaty. Such fun.

hattymattie · 08/01/2014 13:37

MI having exactly the same nights - either feverish or freezing[.

Mrs S that is so sad about the old man. Loving the swishy haired girls though. I have never had hair that looks that and they all seem to be able to do it these days. I do find they are overly enthusiastic with the hugs these days so it's possible that your DD doesn't consider them all her best friends. None of that nonsense when I was at schoolWink

Crem that is horrible about the core muscles. I crept back to gym yesterday and can safely say I was pathetic.

motherinferior · 08/01/2014 14:45

Just calculated my BMI Shock

I feel faintly suicidal, tbh. NHS website suggests I should lose a stone. (And I may have been slightly lying when I entered my current weight too.)

bigTillyMint · 08/01/2014 16:06

Yes, when did all the hugging and fawning come in?!

MI, a stone is nothing!

QueenQueenie · 08/01/2014 16:07

MI, does it make you feel better if I tell you it says I need to lose considerably more than that? I can (just) remember when I was last the weight it suggests as the upper limit of healthy and I know I would look like a wrinkled twig if I was to lose that much... so please don;t pay too much attention and definitely don't feel bad. Just keep running!

motherinferior · 08/01/2014 16:16

It's in league with my mum Grin It wants me to emaciate myself down to what it sees as the mid-range of healthy. It can sod off.

bigTillyMint · 08/01/2014 16:17

Totally agree - I have ditched the weighing and dieting and my clothes still seem to fit. Ish!

motherinferior · 08/01/2014 17:34

Oh fume, fumetty fume-o-rama, my Difficult Client has sent copy back with changes that are just WRONG. WRONG. Wants 1950s changed to 1950's. And refers to m dashes as 'hyphens'.

I will go with it. Bite bullet. He's wrong but he's paying. But I'm cross. CROSS.

herbaceous · 08/01/2014 17:48

Ooh MI, I feel your pain. When I was in contract publishing bastard clients used to return my carefully edited proofs back with such 'corrections' as you're suffering. If you're such a bloody expert, why do you need me, I would snarl. I'd generally change all their 'corrections' back to the correct version just before it went to press. Bwa ha ha

motherinferior · 08/01/2014 18:05

I will just let it flow over me. In fact there are v few style corrections, just his preoccupation with hating 'hyphens' - ie dashes of any kind. Of which I am, it must be said, inordinately fond.

herbaceous · 08/01/2014 18:24

As a parenthetic device - and making sentences more exciting - they are very useful. And clearer than commas.

motherinferior · 08/01/2014 18:31

oh god he is illiterate. I am really cross. But will just go with it.
