I couldn't see that anyone else had started a new thread, after Stropps carelessly finished the old one without starting a new one, so here you are.

I am in bed having given in to the cold.... Wow how the other half and all that ;-)

My DM loves dp and takes his side in all disputes - he is a saint obviously to have shacked up with me

I am alone kind of by choice. I went out alone last NYE, so it was DP's turn. It was also in 'payment' for him having to spend most of Christmas with my mental family. And TBH I'd felt so grim with the lung that I didn't want to go out anyway.

Had a delicious prawn pathia, and just after it arrived my neighbour came round, proffering a vintage glass full of chilled, spiced gin to accompany it! I could see them having a jolly party through our kitchen windows, and I think he took pity on me.

My best NYE, walking the dog in softly falling snow at midnight whilst pregnant with ds..... Fab...

Joan and Jackie Collins on the telly. Something mildly tragic, yet admirable, about them...

To welcome in the new year my cold is finally retreating,leaving a constant stream of alarmingly coloured matter pouring from my nose. Revolting, yet satisfying.

Happy New Year y'all! :) I am free of any hangover (as I been throughout Christmas ) and am just psyching myself up for a dog walk in the most hideous weather. The dog is not looking particularly keen, but needs must. Today I shall mainly be enjoying doing what I want, before re-engaging with real life again from tomorrow. I have managed to more or less avoid RL since Dec 27th and this has done me a power of good.

May 2014 be a healthy and productive year for all.

I am hangover free but managed to have a couple of idiotic rows last night with various people last night. Think I may suggest sophisticated lunch of oven chips and eggs

Had a lovely evening playing trivial pursuit / drinking (not too much) fizz. On the 3 minute walk home dcs managed to go from being on the best of terms to kicking and fighting in the road . Happy New Year indeed. Not a good note to start 2014 on. Am rather depressed by them and find it hard not to let their awful behaviour eclipse the nice time we'd all had before that. Am rather stony faced with them this morning. Hey ho.

QQ, many sympathies. I get to be the owner of a teenager in just over a month...

Had a lovely evening round a friends which involved dancing to cheesy 80's numbers and Beyoncé - DD was even dancing with DS
DH had to drop DS up to his friends for 10 (shopping trip) and has just dropped DD to meet her friends, thank God as her good humour from last night seems to have disappeared. Sympathies, QQ!
