Love her clothes and hair and everything!

But not sure I could pull it off ..... or afford it!!

I am 5'2 and a 16/18 and casper pale with mid length brown hair. I just love the colours she wears and the shapes. I tend to be in black trousers and a boring top all the time.

I would hate to look like KA! Although, and quite possibly because, my Mother admires her and would love me to dress like her!

Hi op I totally agree with how lovely she looks.
I'm a size 18/20 (yes I'm overweight but I am fit too)and I get 1950's dresses from lady v. I also have some lovely shoes from babycham that are a bit similar to hers.
I don't try to dress like her but I think some of the things we wear are similar.

I have nothing to say about her weight or figure as to me that looks okay. However I think she's a complete phony and went from shows on property to 'crafts and homemaking' when the property bubble burst. I think it's all PR and she probably had little interest in those areas until her agents came up with a new way to market her!

And whilst we're on the subject, Tweet, I believe she's a prominent supporter of the Conservative Party. Enough said.

What on earth are you on about? It's rather laughable that you harp on about people being judgy when you are blatantly judgy yourself and even promote yourself to moderator- telling us what we can say . FGS.

The thread title was ' I want to look like KA'

Tell me how I can disassociate her weight/ size from her fashion sense?
The 2 are connected.

For her size she doesn't wear flattering styles.

It's suddenly not ok is it to mention weight as part of a sleb's appearance on a style forum?

OP. I think she wears a lot of L K Bennett, HObbs and Boden.

I think she dresses well to embrace her figure and certainly has her own signature style. She is a sort of hybrid between sloane and retro 1950's rockabilly.

There is a lot of unnecessary nastiness on this thread and I hope she doesn't happen upon it.

Oh ffs!Big boobs don't determine your clothes size.My chest is a size 20 my waist is size 12-14.Finally enough,I am not a size 20 just because my boobs are!!!!

Twee, insufferably smug and frumptastic - not someone I'd want to emulate in any way.

HelloBoys · 17/12/2013 11:36

varigatedivy - or should that be Poison Ivy?!

I myself think Kirsty A's style is questionable at best SOMETIMES but it works for her, she projects a smart/trendy/approachable image on screen and presumably off it too - in her role as TV presenter/estate agent.

I'm sure she's seen a stylist to help hone her own personal style and yes, as she's admitted she's well aware she needs/would like to lose weight etc.

for you to bang full on into Lifeissweet with such nasty and barbed comments when all she was saying was to keep thread on topic and not to descend into a bitch fest is nasty in itself.

To SofaCanary - ok you MAY NOT WANT to emulate Kirsty but the twee image suits her and TBH makes her stand out. or do you want her to be trendy Wendy skinny Clapham mum like Sarah Beeny is?! (nearest comparison to Kirstles (as Phil calls her!).

Flange - If I know Kirsty (fellow Virgo-ette like me) - she personally wouldn't give a stuff at criticism from some bored MNers who are most likely jealous of her lifestyle yet seem to be happy raining nastiness at her!

Thanks. Is at what you want, but I reserve the right to be bothered when things that are rude and unnecessary are said on a thread and call the poster on it. All I'm asking is for people to be a bit more pleasant. Shoot me for it.

How can anyone call Kirsty fat? I think she's lovely looking, has a great curvaceous figure and love her clothes. She should look and dress the way she wants to. Some people are so shallow.

OP, I agree the rich, deep colours she wears are lovely, and sound like they'd suit you too - pine green, bright red, black etc. I think you could do better than her style wise though, by taking inspiration from her 1950s vibe but making it a lot more modern and interesting.

She's extremely pretty, that's why she looks good, not because of her clothes :)

And lipstick is essential. She wears it well.

Report
ElizabethBathory · 17/12/2013 11:54

Essential to her look, I mean.

I'm no fan of KA but Shock at this thread Body-shaming and ripping another woman to shreds Hmm

OP, if you want to dress like her then do so.

VivaLeBeaver · 17/12/2013 12:21

I agree. I love the way she has her own individual style rather than pandering to fashion. She may not be fashion forward but she looks good and seems very happy and confident in herself.

KA is not even close to be a 'normal size' if you go by what a healthy weight supposedly is. She's definitely got a BMI in the obese category, it's just that we are desensitised to it now.

I still think she looks good though!

Report
Mignonette · 17/12/2013 12:53

KA likes her Louboutins- she has several pairs of their 'Pigalle' style. She wears some Hobbs and I have heard she likes a bit of Marni too. She looks like a Marni girl with her love of colour.

Glossy chestnut brown rinse on the hair, plenty of outdoor time to get that rosy glow and a healthy disregard of bitchy comments (good self esteem) needs to be cultivated. It is that classic 'English Rose' look IMO.

Shame on the body shamers.

PlumBear · 17/12/2013 12:56

Her style isn't to my taste, but I think she looks good. Lovely, luminous skin, and well chosen clothes. I don't think she'd look as good in jeans, for example. I am Envy of some of her jewellery.

She is overweight though. A bit Confused at all those saying she isn't. She looks good and is overweight - the two don't necessarily cancel the other out.

How can anyone say she definitely has a bmi in the obese category?Have you weighed her?Do you know her body composition? No,but she has curves, how dare a woman actually look like one!

Report
VivaLeBeaver · 17/12/2013 13:05

My bmi is 28/29. So overweight but not obese. I'd say I've got a similar body shape if not a bit fatter than ka. So don't know how anyone can say for sure she's obese.

woozlebear · 17/12/2013 13:09

Personally I think she looks lovely, and most importantly she's not a fashion slave, or even very modern. She dresses in a combination of what suits her personality, tastes, colouring and figure. So what if it's what other people perceive as a bit dated?

Like the skinny jeans-blazer or COS-vampire-futuristic-hospital-orderly look are going to date any better.

Came on here as I thought the OP might have sparked a refreshing change to what I normally find on the rare occasions I venture into S&B. Sadly it's just reminded me why I normally flee to sit in a corner and cry/gibber for a while. Every time I get told it's normally so nice and supportive. Funny how I only ever find the bitchy ones Confused
