best lip balm?

Really dry lips at the moment! Vaseline just doesn't seem to be cutting it - I apply it constantly throughout the day. Does anyone have a good lip balm recommendation?

Definitely blistex relief cream! It tingles a bit, but I have grown to enjoy the sensation Smile

Badger Balm

BillyBanter · 01/12/2013 00:07

Is that where you kiss a badger's arse to stop you licking your lips, oldraver?

Ms23 · 01/12/2013 22:01

Thanks all! Carmex is cheap in tesco at the moment so I went with that.

Embryollise Essential Dry Skin Balm. Can use it on any bit of dry skin as well. Light inoffensive smell.

What about lip balms that don't contain tingly stuff or petroleum jelly? I tried Burts Bees but wasn't impressed.

BewitchedBefuzzledBewildered · 29/12/2013 22:02

If you find something lovely containing no petroleum jelly or tingly stuff I'd also be delighted to know.

Lucas Paw Paw Ointment is terrific. For really sore lips, Blistex Medicated Lip Oontment.

Lanolips is lanolin based - no petroleum jelly or menthol/camphor (tingly ingredients).

Lasinoh nipple stuff, best lip balm ever... or Clinique as a close contender

Lighthousekeeping · 29/12/2013 23:05

Keihls is overrated. Really annoyed at myself for buying loads in the states when I could've got twice as many Carmex.

WhereIsMyHat · 29/12/2013 23:10

Nuxe lip balm is the best I've tried. All lansinoh nipple cream is amazing especially if you have some left over.

guccigirly · 29/12/2013 23:12

Have tried them all and Carmex is the best. Seems to keep my coldsores away too.

FerrisBueller1972 · 29/12/2013 23:17

Lucas Pawpaw ointment is so much better than 8 hr cream by EA. And a fraction of the cost. I'm never without it and have converted many friends to it. Can't praise it enough for so many uses

happy2bhomely · 29/12/2013 23:18

I use nipple cream. The only thing that has ever worked on my cracked lips. I only have to use it a couple of times a week now and my lips are soft and smooth.

FuckItLifeIsTooShort · 30/12/2013 09:09

Body shop vit e lip balm. No petroleum, not sticky, cheap. The whole family use it even teenage boys! Really worth trying, usually cheap offers to get it online too.

Coumarin · 31/12/2013 04:59

Another Lansinoh fan. 100% pure lanolin. Sold as nipple balm/cream. I used to get very dry, chapped lips every winter as well as splits in the corners and this completely cleared it all up. I layer it on at night and I haven't had chapped lips for years now.

For daytime and putting under lipstick, the uncoloured Babylips intense by Maybelline is very good. Looks like a lypsyl but much more effective.

Bonsoir · 31/12/2013 07:42

Carmex, as others have said!

lurkingaround · 31/12/2013 10:53

When I was on Roaccutane I got the usual dry-to-the-point-of-flaking-away lips and I tried many lip balms. The best I found was Elizabeth Arden 8 hour lip balm.
