The Gap has a 30% sale this weekend - saw a lovely deep fuchsia cardigan and lots of fine knits in grey and dark navy.

Used2bthin · 01/03/2014 17:22

OOh I am meant to be going into town tomorrow to take oldest dd to the cinema I wonder if she would tolerate a gap trip after...probably not, maybe I should look online instead.

Used2bthin · 01/03/2014 17:24

I actually have a gorgeous gap jumper I their ever soft range in a really lovely colour but it has bobbled so badly it is unwearable. Their cotton knits seem to be great though, I had a really nice slash neck dark navy one last year that I lost (goodness knows how) and I have been wanting to replace it ever since.

QueenCadbury · 01/03/2014 17:43

In my gap the 30% ends today.

mrskitty you've had more success than me with dyeing.

I totally forgot about indigo but yes, that blueberry cardi would probably match that. I really would like a royal purple cardi. And emerald. And Chinese/lagoon blue.

I do too queencadbury!

Gap online has 15% off as far as I can see unless there's a code so it must only be in the shop.

I really really want to go shopping now, feels like ages since I have been in actual shops.

Fooogle · 02/03/2014 07:56

Got a few cardis from lands end. Will check my swatch as one is def purple though which one I haven't cruise worked out. Ones a blue too and all reduced to 12£ something... Crew neck..... Don't normally buy anything else from them but get suckered by all the cardi colours! Grin

Fooogle · 02/03/2014 07:56

Quite worked out not cruise worked out!

Used2bthin · 02/03/2014 08:16

Is thread is bad for my bank balance I will be off to check out lands end in a bit! At least it sounds like there are bargains! Still trying to find a way of getting to gap later but don't think its going to happen.

Used2bthin · 02/03/2014 09:28

Loads of colours there! What do you think of the one they call teal? I thought it looked ok , not draining like teal can be but hard to say.

Also, what size? Anyone know are they generously sized? The cardigans come in 10-12 or 14 -16 and I am a twelve on top, definitely not a fourteen or ten so am a bit unsure!

Used2bthin · 02/03/2014 09:45

Also, black or navy chinos? grin

pinkflaming0 · 02/03/2014 10:10

Inspired by mrskitty I'm thinking of dying some white shirts. I love the Next perfect shirt and have it in white (and a pink that is way too peachy) and had it in a gorgeous royal blue but that faded so has had to go.

They do black this season but I don't like too much black near my face (aged 48 I think it drains me) so thinking of buying another white one and dying it maybe navy blue, antique grey or ocean blue.

What do you think?

And what could I try to change the peachy pink do you think? Dyeing a coloured item is always more hit and miss.

Used2bthin · 02/03/2014 10:22

Had good success with navy blue dye a few years back pinkflamingo, in fact one of the tops I still wear. Only thing is it was a light brown originally and the seams and stitching has stayed the same, it looks ok though.

MissScatterbrain · 02/03/2014 11:03

I would think deep pink, red or burgundy dyes would work on a peachy pink shirt.

re the cardis - I would get red, pink, purple or emerald - not sure about teal but Moroccan Blue could be chinese blue.

Used2bthin · 02/03/2014 11:45

I ordered the emerald one and chinos in black and navy in the end so will decide when they arrive. Have out on a bit of weight recently so it may be that the 12 chinos don't fit anyway which will be annoying if u have to send both back,

Used2bthin · 02/03/2014 12:37

If I have to send both back that should have said (bad night and morning !)

I still need tops to go under all these cardigans, would love an emerald blouse to wear with my pencil skirt and some basic tops but running out of cash.

Fooogle · 02/03/2014 13:03

Just went to primark this morning... Actually quite a bit of forest green/navy. Only bought two to shirt type tops, a silver grey? And a royal blue I think? 3.50 each. Spending too much time in charities so even primark felt not too great a bargain Hmm.
Anyone got great skinny jeans? Have next lift and shape ones but just ripped them...! Have wide hips but skinny waist... Hmmm

Used2bthin · 02/03/2014 13:25

Have next lift and shape too but a friend has almost the same but from asda and £18 so worth a look.

Used2bthin · 02/03/2014 13:50

I want this johnlewis.com/ted-baker-meeliye-panelled-trench-coat/p1113416?colour=Jade

Purely window shopping now but lovely colour.

SorrelForbes · 02/03/2014 14:25

Gap High Rise skinnies. I have a 11" difference between my hips and my waist and these fit beautifully. Size down though. I am a 10/12 and wear a 27.

Stellarpunk · 02/03/2014 17:07

I just wanted to say how.. honestly.. this thread has CHANGED MY LIFE!

I have gone through all of my drawers and shelves and have binned probably 3 bags worth of stuff that was either old, worn out, not worn or the wrong bloody colour. For some unfathomable reason I have been obsessed by browns for years. And I wondered why I always felt mumsy.

Not any more. I may have ditched 2/3rds of my clothes but I feel transformed.

Wow. Just wow Grin

Flowers thank you lovely ladies.

QueenCadbury · 02/03/2014 21:18

Glad to be if service stellar

pink I didn't have much luck with antique grey. It turned out a kind of sludgy green colour and I think someone else said that too.

Fooogle · 03/03/2014 15:50

thanks for the jeans tip offs. Need to go to some real shops I guess as I'll have a house full of 'samples' if I'm not careful. I've got lots to go back to Kettlewell, Great Plains and Lands End already in a big pile! Oops Blush justifies to self its just like trying things on in shops just you have it at home instread...

Used2bthin · 03/03/2014 17:33

Fooogle I always get stressed about delivery charges and returns but then a friend pointed out that parking, petrol into town, the odd coffee whilst out, all cost more!

Did the lands end stuff not work out for you? Mine is on its way apparently, I have high hopes of the cardigan but apprehensive about the chinos I ordered as feel horrible lately and if they don't fit I will feel worse.

Used2bthin · 03/03/2014 17:41

Does this look like an ice colour or is it too pink do you think? www.dorothyperkins.com/en/dpuk/product/new-in-2652762/view-all-new-in-203544/butterfy-intarsia-jumper-2728533?bi=1&ps=200

MissScatterbrain · 03/03/2014 18:10

That does look like a possible ice pink - you need to see it in real life though as it could be one of these nude pinks which is a tad on the warm side.

I agree re delivery charges although I try and get these posted FOC (or with free returns) where possible. A lot of stores now do click and collect which is great. The advantage of online shopping is that you can see how the clothes will go with the rest of your wardrobe when trying these on.
