LinusGrin we are ripping out the utility/laundry room and starting again so I am like a kid in a toy shop!

Mig, actually I take that back - I don't like other peoples scarves. I loved my own and wore it religiously the entire time I was there. I had no fashion sense though!Grin

Linus I would find it v hard to survive without mine! we have a lot of visitors so sheets and towels need washing all of the time. I guess some people don't have space or have a problem with their environmental unfriendliness .
Nothing beats the smell of washing dried on my washing line though Smile a very simple pleasure of mine.
Snow ....damn and I don't get my down filled coat until Dec 8th!

As we head towards the end of November my stress levels will suitably rise. My kindly PA has booked me off a couple of days in December to shop. Let's see if I get to take them! Mind you I could have done one of my shopping days in NYC but as a favour to a friend, I have agreed to leave there one day early to go elsewhere and do a meeting with him.

dry I don't get mine until the 24th December as DM has bought it as a Christmas present! I do have another down filled coat but it completely swamps me.

mig my DC will only have sex when they are married and living in their own house! [deluded emoticon]

And I love those oak boards. I'm all set for most of my Christmas presents but might order one for myself (if they deliver abroad(

Dry- I found the slate tablemats on Amazon. I don't have the exact link but they were like these. There are plenty on Amazon from different sellers and with different prices.

Linus I said that too. Gives hollow laugh.

RE the oak board I think you'd have no trouble finding a master craftsmen to make one for you in whatever country you were in. Have a google and see what you can find. So many talented carpenters and wood carvers about.

Novice Don't you dare not take some A/L. Naughty girl Smile...

Thanks mig - I worry that people will think I'm a bitch if I keep slagging off all these popular phenomena.

Have emailed my present pinboard to DH. Let's all say a prayer.

Oh I need you all and some frivolous chat. I've just had 2 hours, yes 2 hours of learning maths (evening at school to teach us how they teach the kids). My brain is frazzled Confused

God no Amber. You don't write in a bitchy or spoil sport manner. I love those entries because they fit well into the entries that are about objects of desire and clothing that fits into lives of busy women without being so utilitarian that it is impossible to feel excited about acquiring it.

A lot of fashion is about fantasy and aspiration too and that is lovely. But sometimes people are being played and it seems blatant. Like The Emperors New Clothes we need somebody (Amber) to remind us that the Emperor has no clothes on.

Am saying a prayer, am saying a prayer Amber.

QueenC I'm completely frivolous.

Amber you're not a bitch! you're honest, blunt are you a secret Yorkshire woman but true to yourself. I like your style (quite different to mine) because you just like fashion for fashion sake and don't seem at all "shoppist" mixing high end and high street. I read A LOT of blogs (and read too many fashion magazines) and wish more were honest and thought provoking. Too much obsequiousness. phew very long word, need a lie down

Bloody number lines dry. It wasn't like that in our day Wink. To be fair the evening was great and it will definitely help with dd homework. But 2 hours? All I could think was how much vogue I'm missing!

Did I miss something dry? Barry manilow?

You can never have too much obsequiousness Wink. seriously though, thanks. No way am I a Yorkshire woman - I spend like a woman with no arms.

My low end is usually the outnet clearance and atterley road specials. That counts.

I require an outfit for lunch. But it does have to be discounted / not too expensive.

I really love that bag Amber. And the price reduction. Have heard very good things about his bags. They seem to be an insider choice too.

Yes the fashion press is governed by pleasing its advertisers. Even British Vogue is toying with ending the ban on fur. That article by Emily Sheffield a couple of months ago was water testing >>. The Fur advertisers are snapping at their heels because so many designers use it now. And editorial is totally governed by who places an ad in the issue. Big Prada gatefold ad? That'll be Prada in at least two fashion stories then. T'was always thus but never so blatantly obvious.

Just caught up on your blog amber. I'm sure a lot of people/bloggers think the same but just don't say it. Surely the only reason a high end designer does a high st collab is for some ready cash? Now, when's the sparkle blog coming? I'm wering it out of Saturday night.

marsh what kind of lunch? Smart? Business? Romantic... Wink

Shop My daughter was conceived in my parents bed when we house sat TMI.

Yes I was kept on a short noose leash. My sister jammy sod got a double bed bought for her so she could host her boyfriend. I got the curfews and the metaphorical chastity belt. But parents forget that there's no chastity belt a wily teenager can't get past.
