So sweet of the cleaner, will have to get a good gift for Christmas, trouble is the person who turns up every week changes. But they all do it, so nice.

Umlauf every thing crossed. Let us know when you get a break through!

EWM cashmere scarves are reduced because there's NOTHING of them.....teeny tiny toddler size Sad
Stroked the longchamps Le Pliage bags on a huge display, but I was strong and walked away. Smile
There was a faint feeling of mild panic in M And S coat and scarf section.....there's a rumour of snow up here next week and we get A LOT!

I do love a good British panic about the weather! There'll probably be a few flakes and the whole country will grind to a halt!
Logs have been here for ages - we love an open fire - been burning them for weeks Grin

ShopGrin! Sort of DryBlush, but one that you can put delicates in, where are at the moment I am very precious about cashmere, silk, things with motifs etc so they don't near a tumble which is harsh heat.

Novice I used to live in a house w/ one of those drying cabinets. The Dementia Unit that DH worked on had one. I used to put my coat, scarf and gloves in there to be warm for me at the end of a Winter late or night shift. Cosy.

RE scarves. I think it is about time the classic College scarf made a come back. I can claim this, Kings or UCC which I cannot find.

Which do you prefer?

Report
Mignonette · 14/11/2013 20:38

The Kings one is fine red stripe on a navy background.

BrandyAlexander · 14/11/2013 20:44

Thanks Mig.

Err no to the scarf! This is the tartan conversation all over again isn't it?Grin

LinusDKD · 14/11/2013 20:48

dry I tumble dry everything that can be tumble dried. Which means none of my things.

I am baffled when reading the threads on MN about whether to get a tumble drier or not. How can you survive without a tumble drier. But then again, I am a foreigner.

College scarves are such a British thing as well. I can only claim this from my year as an exchange student at King's College London. (But what a year that was!)

Colours are ok but the big fat logo puts me off.

Oh I love them, I love all things preppy! They're very harry potter. I would definitely get one if I was alumni! Sadly my own uni wasn't nearly as chic Sad

Snow! And only 6 weeks until Christmas!!! Grin

I will consider my butt smacked in rebuke by Novice Grin

Have just read my sons comments on FB about my preparations for the storms the other week. It was not complimentary Hmm. Something about preparing for the four Horsemen of the Apocalypse. Sarky little brat Grin. I seem to have acquired a new mouth to feed in the form of his GF who has moved in with us. They are now nesting away making space for her in his closets. As long as i do not hear them doing the deed I will be okay. Hearing your offspring have sex is wrong in every way Grin.

Well said Amber RE Marant and her 'copying my wedge trainer' comment. I remember commenting/ thinking that regarding wedge trainers all over Cyber Dog in Camden and those Buffalo wedge trainers worn by the Spices in the early 90's. You are spot on.

Linus That's the one! All six feet of itchy boiled wool! Mine didn't have a logo as it was so old (about twentyhand) that it had eroded.

I don't think it matters what college it is Umlauf- the pattern is what is important. I think they are lovely. My friends had a stall on Portobello making hats and bags out of old college scarves and they looked much cooler than they sound. Little beanie hats back in the early 90's.

Six weeks till Christmas? Six weeks till Christmas. Better get on with the shopping. I have ordered a long oak food display board for my Mother with her and stepfather's name engraved on the side. I saw the link on the Thanksgiving Goop edition here. Last year she got 12 slate place settings and a slate cheese tray with antler handles. Weighed a bloody ton.
