BrandyAlexander · 22/11/2013 13:36

Lucky you SleepEnvy have a great time!

libertychick · 22/11/2013 14:04

I have just had a stroll around TKMaxx and found these beauties. I am so happy - have been looking for ankle boots for ages and these are perfect - big smile on my face! I might even dare to wear them with a skirt

Sleep I really like those Jigsaw boots, they look so so comfy. Have a great weekend.

santamarianovella · 22/11/2013 14:23

Hi all
novice ,shop and anyone else who is a floral wallpaper lover, rest assured, they will never be out of style,I think what dry and I ment was the whole floral scheme with strong colors, some rooms that we redid were such an eye sore!you couldn't even pin point where the sofa was!

novice .its important to take into consideration, the setting, style of room, the architecture and your surroundings, therefore floral wallpaper are always a good choice for big period estate, the rooms are always big and the surroundings complements floral prints.
The biggest mistake people make is trying to emulate a"look" that is totally wrong for the size and style of the house.trying to create a country look for a penthouse in canary warf is just a disaster,it makes me shudder just thinking about it Smile

I like to avoid bold "fashionable" colors like hot pink, lime green, mauve, magenta, they might look nice in your wardrobe, but blimey I could never sit still in room painted in any of that colors! Also I'm not a huge fan of mixing loud Marni-esque prints, the look nice for about 5 minutes, and that's it!

shop I just remembered,I saw your house, the wallpaper is a perfect match.

queen actually a former colleague emailed me the pics , I couldn't even take a second glance! It was Shock

sleep enjoy your weekend!

No boots yet! But my mum sent me one of her chanel jackets! And I've been playing dress up all morning! Will pin the pics!

shopafrolic · 22/11/2013 14:30

Phew Santa - thanks. I'm really pleased with it. The carpet is being fitted as we speak. Off to choose curtains and lampshade this weekend. Pics of Chanel jackets? How fabulous! Yes please!
Sleep those boots look so snuggly

santamarianovella · 22/11/2013 15:01

shop just the one jacket!
I'm sure your house will look perfect,it has so much character.

Annianni · 22/11/2013 15:54

Oh dear god... we have the school teddy for a week!?
He's gone straight in the washing machine :o
I'm thinking of getting him drunk tomorrow night.
Suggestions please...

Loving the dodgy decor reports.

My living room currently has 4 different wallpapers in it, all in shades of pale pink. With a fabulous axminster carpet, that's cream, pale pink, green and brown.

My dining room is a rather strong peach colour, with a green, navy and orange carpet.

And my hallway/stairs have yellow flocked walls, with an orange, green, black and cream carpet :o

It's so embarrassing when people come to the door dhl man

Annianni · 22/11/2013 15:55

Envy at the Chanel jacket!

BrandyAlexander · 22/11/2013 16:00

Phew! Santa, thank you! Current house is modern and so it's all neutrals and beiges and then colour is through paintings, photos, ornaments and art objects. It's all I have ever known so a period property is a big change for me. As they are big rooms, that's why I was going down the floral path. I have this fear of blowing a stack of money and getting it all horribly wrong!

It's freezing today isn't it? I did the school run and that's focused my mind again on the coat. What do people think of the Pavone?

Annianni · 22/11/2013 16:03

Is the Pavone the Matches one Novice?
I did like that one.
Is there any matches codes about at the moment?

Annianni · 22/11/2013 16:04

Are there?!

BrandyAlexander · 22/11/2013 16:24

Oh poor you Anni, I am still traumatised from the pre-school bear! Plenty of Wine!

Yes the Pavone is the matches one.

I forgot to do my report in this week's shopping! I got boatneck painter tee in beige and turquo. They are £38.50 in UK, I got them for £8 each.

I also got matchstick jean in pitch black wash. Retailing here for £115. I got for £30. They are a 26 and slightly gappy at the waist. For £30, I am prepared to wear a belt!

Then I paid full price for this bejewelled sweater. It's £98 here and I paid $98 which is about £65!

So I spent £111 on 4 items that would have cost me £300 here!

I also did my usual Sephora raid and got some Nars tinted moisturiser and mascara a.

Then at the airport, got some Khiels papaya and pinapple facial scrub and creme de corps body cream which is v expensive here!

Dh apparently logged on this morning to see how much I had spent, he let it slip when I said it had been a quiet oneHmm I should LTB shouldn't I?Grin

OneLittleLady · 22/11/2013 16:24

thanks QueenC Thanks

Drywhiteplease · 22/11/2013 17:00

Ok, it's Friday and I'm watching nail varnish dry, so time for a catch up.....could be long, feel free to skim, but I will be tea sting you later!Wink

Marsha I have dimmers in all my down lit rooms! and lamps too to add ambiance .....ooh la la
Novice your DH can join my 'stressed-and-married-to-a-terrible-timekeeper support group. I'm manically early scarred by my perpetually late parents, think running up the aisle late to a choir concert after it startedShock I dread going anywhere apart from to his parents'with him because we always have an argument about being late. We have missed planes and also been those idiots people like me hate who hold up aeroplanes and them come rushing in when everyone else is sitting down and ready to flySad
Anni ooh the school teddy. Right, teachers like it when it's the kids who do the work. Take photos of DS eating breakfast, playing with him, having lunch etc....the best is when they are in bed, teddy in bed pictures are always very sweet. Maybe get DS to write the captions or just draw a pic of what they did. I love seeing all that stuff.
Shop I removed the pic because I'm vain and it looked terrible....will take a more flattering selfie with scarf tomorrow vain vain vain
Turquoise and Liberty talking shoe boots and TKMaxx......I was walking through TK and saw

Evening all. Wow - it seems like forever since I was on here!

I've caught up on about 17 pages, so I'm not too far out of the loop.

Things have been manic around here lately - it's always our busiest time, but added to that we've had to prepare 11 racehorses for export to the Middle East (the paperwork!Shock), re-decorated the office, complete with new furniture & fittings, I've resumed my writing (I contribute to a racing publication), we've wound up our business (long story) and started a new one so I've not been around much. It'll be nice to pick up the threads of MNV and feel involved again - I've missed y'all!

Novice read with interest the cost of your US JCrew basket vs the UK. I put some stuff in an online basket with Ann Taylor, cost to buy in £ and ship to the UK, £317 - cost to buy in $ and ship to my parents in US, $188 Shock Shock Shock. I'm going to call my parents tonight and speak sweetly to them... (the post office at this time of year may not appeal much)

OneLittleLady · 22/11/2013 17:12

welcome back Grumpy ! Wine Thanks

BrandyAlexander · 22/11/2013 17:18

Hello Grumpy!!!! So good to have you back. I can see why we haven't seen you - it sounds horrendously busy!Shock

I was so tempted in Ann Taylor by this dress. The mannequin was wearing it all cinched in with a little bow belt. There was a 30% sale on and I think cost would have been £60 vs £124 that's showing on the website! What did you have in your basket?

Dry, I think my kids will sound like you in 30 years....Blush

Drywhiteplease · 22/11/2013 17:24

These.....no link. £69.99 by guess! suede with shiny 4"stiletto....gorgeous. Will wear tonight. Loving the image off Shop and Liberty holding hands so they don't fall over in heels.Grin

So, long bit coming up..............
I went into town to return a skirt, with Marsha on my shoulder whispering "if you don't love it ...." Only £25 from h and M but a lot of £25 add up to make a lot of money profound Grin . Trying to resist the lure of cheap stuff not necessarily always bad though.
So.....on a high from fab shoe boot purchase I take skirt back, "if you don't love it, if you don't love it.........." " no cheap crap, no cheap crap" and what bloody happens?
I return shirt Polish halo " I don't love it"
I see red dress.....I try red dress. Marsha disappeared.
I see shiny peacock, polyester shirt, I love peacock blue.
I get to till.....and decide the skirt I returned would look nice with the peacock shirt.
So, I bought £60 odd of crap I don't love......get home and there you are Marsha "you don't love that do you?"
It's all going back and tonight for the party I'm wearing my favourite party dress with amazing new shoe boots. Have decided not to drink because I have a double whammy but very much doubt I'll stick to it although I might break an ankle if I do Grin
