Linus great news on the Leighs!

Annianni · 20/11/2013 14:15

Foxy you tease!!!
How dare you prioritise your children before reporting on a handbag!
:o

Am I right in thinking you were moving so your dh has a shorter commute Shop?

shopafrolic · 20/11/2013 14:28

That's the main reason Anni
The trouble is we have a fab character property in this village. If we move to the nearest town to ease his commute, to buy the same type of property would be double the price (no exaggeration) - so we will instantly be downsizing.
Plus points are ease of commute, closer to civilisation, friends, stuff for DS, easier for me to get to London for MUs :)
Downside is we would probably lose a bedroom, lose the character, and lose immediate access to open fields etc…… It's a toughie. Whatever will be…...

shopafrolic · 20/11/2013 14:28

Yeah Foxy get your priorities right Grin

Annianni · 20/11/2013 14:33

Bummer Shop.

Are there any nice villages that are a bit closer to his work?
Or are they all silly money?

shopafrolic · 20/11/2013 14:39

All ££££ round here Anni - commuter belt

Turquoiseblue · 20/11/2013 14:40

Love the pashli suspense, hope they re a hit! Foxy - let us know if it s a success.
I love the mini pashli, but think it would be too small for my lifestyle as i carry almost everything including the kitchen sink if i could fit it, in my handbag

Have pinned my bag, and ordered the skrit (thank you anni for the pin) think it s the one i want, only concern is the strap looks a little fine. I would like to be able to wear it cross body.
foxy why the zara ban ?i m interested because I returned stuff there recently as i felt a lot of the stuff i have from there doesnt last.

Am taking a few hours off tomorrow to get some christmas shopping started. Cant wait!

Anyone buy anything from the Marni for H and M collection? The only Marant item I really loved and wanted was a red jacket that sold out by the time I decided I wanted it. have been keeping an eye on ebay and others since but it aint available. Inasane the amount for marant for H and M on ebay at the moment ... and the prices ... it s still only H and M afterall!!!!!!

Ok back to the boxes..........

Drywhiteplease · 20/11/2013 15:39

Oh foxy I would have been late for ds.

No fashion news but in food shopping news, I made my first ever trip to Aldi today. foxy we have Aldis finest prosecco on Saturday.

OneLittleLady · 20/11/2013 16:05

I am so relieved, I finally, after weeks of searching, found the silver gate bracelet my mum gave to me. it was given to my mum in the 70's and was passed down to me and I thought I'd lost it. I've been tearing my hair out for weeks trying to think where I might have put it and I finally found it in my jewellery making tool box!

Brilliant that you found your cuff btw QueenC

foxysocks · 20/11/2013 16:09

RIGHT! Opened it, and in the process may have lost a tiny piece of my heart....ready for the report??

it's gorgeous. amazing colour, really rich. not as bright as it looks online, kind of a dark cobalt with a navy hue. the leather is great, good strong stitching. pewter/grey hardware which i love. perfect size, good on arm and cross body. it's much more structured than I would usually go for but the zips make it easy to change the look.

BUT. the price! am getting guilts over the price. I need to look at it over a few days and see if the love grows or diminishes.

those who want the mini - i would try to see in the flesh first and check it's big enough. for me the medium is perfect - i reckon would fit ipad, kindle, purse, keys, phone powder compact. I don't need the large as have my campomaggi cross body which is cavernous, and elgin which can fit macbook and extra bits too, so i wanted something smaller and easier to sling on without being JUST a phone and keys type cross body.

phew! there endeth the p lim report. conclusion = if I can get over the guilts I will keep her. she's a beauty Grin

foxysocks · 20/11/2013 16:13

turq - their ethics are the worst in fashion, appaz. terrible processes involving designer ripoffs, unethical labour, purposefully not putting any effort into longevity of items preferring super quick catwalk/shop floor turnaround and treating everyone along the way really badly. I'm sure other retailers are no saints but in the fast fashion books I have read zara always come off the worst.

I have cassis in the fridge queenc Grin

loving all the DS advice. I have declared the sitting room a cinema, shut the curtains, given them a pack of mini cheddars and mary poppins on dvd so I can go and stroke the p lim a bit more.

libertychick · 20/11/2013 16:51

Hello - home last night, got on the plane in 24 degrees, got off to 4 Sad - will try to catch up later.

Great bag update Foxy Smile I agree she is a beauty!

OneLittleLady · 20/11/2013 16:54

shopafrolic · 20/11/2013 17:12

Yay! Waves to Liberty - welcome home x

MarshaBrady · 20/11/2013 17:16

Welcome home Liberty!

Foxy bag sounds fabulous. I think it could be a goer!

QueenCadbury · 20/11/2013 17:47

I'm so excited to meet her on Saturday foxy wonders if I give foxy enough Aldi prosecco whether she will notice the bag comes home with me. I know what you mean about the money but if you love it and people are prepared to donate for your birthday then go for it.

one that's great news. Yes, I was very relieved about my cuff. I hate losing things.

We've had a weird day today (and not just the Aldi trip!). We found out this morning that a local friend that dh has known for years was killed in a cycle accident yesterday. He's spent the day calling people to let them know. It's an area that dh cycles around at weekends and it makes you sick to the core for the thoughts for his family but how easily it could be dh.

QueenCadbury · 20/11/2013 17:49

Apologies if that was maudlin. I was umming and ahhing all day about whether to post about it.

Anyway I' off out to the local pub tonight. I offered to stay in with dh but he's happy for me to go. No idea what to wear except that it needs to be warm as I'll be walking home!

OneLittleLady · 20/11/2013 17:53

oh, how awful QueenC , I hope kingC is ok Sad

MarshaBrady · 20/11/2013 18:46

Oh QueenC I'm so sorry to hear that. Your poor dh and my heart goes out to the family. Dh always rode to work, until recently as he take ds1 to school in the morning. I hear so many things lately.

Will be thinking of you all.

Who's here tonight? Shop are you out?

Dh is out. I'm allowing some superman shenanigans then I'm doing the bed time thing.

Foxy how are you feeling about the Lim now? Grin

Turq will have a look,

MarshaBrady · 20/11/2013 18:48

Love the pics on MNV. Great scarves and Turq that bag is divine!

OneLittleLady · 20/11/2013 18:49

I'm here tonight apart from a brief journey to the supermarket.

LinusDKD · 20/11/2013 18:56

That is horrible queenc!

DH cycled to work a lot at one point and is thinking about upgrading his electric bike, but I have to admit I always worry when he's out on his bike.

one phew, glad you found your mum's bracelet!

foxy interesting re Pashli colour. Is it more like the blue
Pashli WIT has?

I think we need a picture on MNV to admire the bag in the flesh. Wink

Welcome home liberty!

Annianni · 20/11/2013 19:14

Welcome home Liberty.
Hope you had a fab time.

I have a confession...
