Oh no dry I feel your pain. You'd been so looking forward to seeing it.

BrandyAlexander · 16/11/2013 14:39

Oh no Dry!!! You were so looking forward to trying that coat. Sad My recommendation is Wine on the mezzanine floor of selfridges over looking the handbagsWink

Linus, yes, I prefer the MaxMara too but they don't have it in a 6 or 8. Boo hoo!

MarshaBrady · 16/11/2013 15:23

Oh Dry! Oh no lovely. Argh!

MarshaBrady · 16/11/2013 15:34

Novice I'm looking at MaxMara coats. And they all sold out Hmm hopeless, I even wasn't going to, then decided to link a beautiful cashmere one (but it has fur), but it's sold out too.

Dove grey MaxMara but not cashmere and none left. I think you need cashmere!

BrandyAlexander · 16/11/2013 15:44

I love that coat too Marsha! I saw it a couple of weeks ago. The problem is that all the ones I like are all sold out in size 8. who has got my coat?!Hmm

MarshaBrady · 16/11/2013 15:49

I know! It's crazy.

Is there a MaxMara store close by? They've got to have something left in there surely. They are beautiful coats. I think amongst my favourites.

BrandyAlexander · 16/11/2013 16:03

It's so annoying! I had Selfridges do a search for me and then go to MaxMara themselves and ask if they had it in a 6 or 8 and they said no and that it's been a very popular coat.

LinusDKD · 16/11/2013 16:12

As I said novice I can have a look in the MaxMara shop here if you like.

But then you will need to book a 'business trip' to come and try it on! Wink

Or maybe a romantic weekend with DH? Grin

LinusDKD · 16/11/2013 16:14

Oh and foxy why did you pin that Pashli?

Now I had another look at the mini one in cobalt and I have fallen in love all over again.

Do you think my family will mind if I don't buy them any Christmas presents this year and spend all the money on a bag ?

BrandyAlexander · 16/11/2013 16:31

I am so tempted Linus! I have told the dcs after the 2 US trips I have coming up, I won't be catching a plane again till mid-Feb. I love the coat almost enough to forget that promise and bring forward my annual trip to Switzerland Grin

foxysocks · 16/11/2013 17:39

erm I may have ordered it to look at, linus, after some enabling from DH on the other side of the world. it was a heart stopping rash decision, a la nancy and dry....!

it's my birthday in two weeks and after six months of research have conceded that the balenciaga city, even second hand, do not fall into my budget. I was considering that cobalt MBMJ in the summer sales but the lining put me off. had discounted pashli as despite loving design I had it in my head they were unlined, and had thought small too small and the others too expensive.

this one looks like it's lined from the pics and with a code was a smidge over £400 which is kind of my personal bag limit. the medium looks a good size for me too. I may not keep it. will have to be a stunner in the flesh, but with free returns decided was worth a shot....

MarshaBrady · 16/11/2013 17:53

Well done Foxy! That's a good price too.

Novice we need to get you the coat you want most! I'd be very tempted to take up lovely Linus' offer.

QueenCadbury · 16/11/2013 18:27

Foxy I look forward to seeing it next week. Im in mu travelodge and havea fabulous view of the m6! Just about to start getting sparkly!

QueenCadbury · 16/11/2013 18:28

Just watching a rerun of children in need and 1d are on. Harry looks like he needs a good wash.

LinusDKD · 16/11/2013 18:37

queenc I think that about many celebrities. Johnny Depp, Ethan Hawke, Colin Farell etc.

novice take the kids for the weekend!

Oh foxy Envy

Let me know what it is like so I can fall in love with the Mini even more

But why is the Medium discounted and the Mini not???

QueenCadbury · 16/11/2013 18:47

I'm so classy. Drinking wine that I bought fron home in a plastic cup in a travelodge on the m6 Grin

Drywhiteplease · 16/11/2013 18:54

On train home and phone so no links.
Foxy what date is your birthday? V near me! Well done with the scarf.
linus dinner sounds fab!

Right round up of today;

'Did' regent st. Think JCrew is ok. I actually did think I was going to cry Sad stroked Sleep's shoes to make myself feel better.Grin got v excited about some Goldsign jeans! Banana Republic stock was better and cheaper. Saw a fab black statement necklace but £75 will hold on.
Checked out Jaeger, Cos and Zara too.
shop I stroked our scarf.... It won't disappoint, big and lovely quality too. Worth the money. It seems everyone in London is wearing Eve Worn Outs Zara tartan scarf ( red and camel one).
Eros in a huge snow globe is genius!!!!
Then down Sloane St...... Licked a lot of windows.... Dreamy dreamy Grin
Then down Kings road. Peter Jones for Chanel nails and red lip discussion .Checked out Zadig and Voltaire as recommended by you lot lovely lovely.
Comptoir des Cottoniers , even better and Anthropologie which I really loved.... 3 shops we don't have at home.
Cake in a tiny cafe called Eto..... GO THERE!!!
All in all a great day . Lunch at Zegel off R St wine cheered me up . No real purchases to report , because I *dont need anything Shock apart from a camel coat--

So I've had my fix. Will step off train into taxi straight to dinner !

Now you all need to help me find a coat. Here is the brief;
Camel
Wool
Single breasted
Fitted
Knee length
Round or v neck but no funnel neck nonsense .
£250 max

Thanks Smile

You don't sound overly fussed about J crew dry. Is that because of the coat disappointment or was it really not that impressive?
Will see what I can find coat wise. Is it not worth ordering the J crew one next time there's a discount code?

shopafrolic · 16/11/2013 20:38

QueenC have a fun night

Drywhiteplease · 16/11/2013 20:40

That's a good idea shop . Will watch for a discount will have to be a big one!
I liked it but didn't get a wow factor. It's lovely quality and the styles are great but it's just not that different to other stuff I've seen.
