Egads. After suffering a hungover Saturday, we then had friends round for late lunch yesterday. At least a bottle of wine each. Really cannot do this at my age!

And today's my only opportunity to go to Selfridges with my gift card. I may just go and browse, and leave actual spending to when I can function more easily.

bigTillyMintspie · 09/12/2013 11:00

That may be wise Herbs, especially if stuff is reduced in the salesWink

herbaceous · 09/12/2013 11:18

Or I might buy something now, and save the rest for the sales. Supposed to be a 5:2 fast day today, but don't think I can go on without a substantial carb- based snack.

motherinferior · 09/12/2013 11:41

Put it this way, Herbs, if you look knock-out divine in it today, you know it's a winner Grin

herbaceous · 09/12/2013 12:48

There are two in the running. One is purple, makes me look fantastic and has a crossover back. The other is red, more classically V W, but pretty clingy on the arse. I'm having sushi while I think about it.

motherinferior · 09/12/2013 12:50

You need the one that makes you look unqualifiedly fantastic. No ifs, no buts (or even butts, snigger, fnar). Get the purple.

The purple is axing, and what's more is a SIZE 10.

I'm trying to attach a photo, but am on phone. I'll bung it on Facebook for opinions!

CointreauVersial · 09/12/2013 13:23

Purple for me too..... Lovely.Envy

Ruby, your thermals are more practical than a VW dress for rootling in the garage Grin

CremolaFirCone · 09/12/2013 16:44

Oh herbs did you get it?
{Vicarious excitement}

I have written 2 ( two II )Christmas / new year cards. WIBU to give up now and not send any ? The trial of digging out lost addresses and queuing at the Post office is weighing me down. Can I just do the fun parts of Christmas ( eating / going to parties/ wearing sparkly clothes) do you think? Have already sat through 3 of DDs vocal performances and have 4 to go. No reflection on dds wonderful voice but at the last one I looked at the typed up programme and there were 35 individual child performances prior to hers. (Her vocal coach is quite prolific and has 50 pupils) had to poke dh awake twice.Confused

wilbur · 09/12/2013 17:20

South London Crepeys, I need help! Do any of you know anyone who has an au pair / student / teenager / cleaning lady that might be free tomorrow morning for a couple of hours who would like to make some extra cash. We have been waiting for 3 months for a woodburning stove to be fitted and the only day they can finish the job before Xmas is tomorrow. I have my work Christmas lunch and dh can't take any time off (he's very busy selling ruby all her Christmas gifts Grin). I can stay here til 10am, but they won't be finished until about lunchtime so I need someone to sit here and drink coffee while they finish up and then lock the house and put the keys back through the door. Aaaargh! Have tried everyone I know within a 5 mile radius and everyone is busy/away/not back from Uni. Any thoughts?

addle · 09/12/2013 17:33

Yes addle - will PM you then catch up with thread!

bigTillyMintspie · 09/12/2013 17:48

Purple. But the red is lovely too!

Wibur, in those situations, I ask them to post the keys back through when they have finished!

Cremo, I did a PO run this afternoon, but only 10 people infront of me, so not too bad! Thank God my two no longer do anything musical!

I am wishing I had a small child's Nativity to go toSad

herbaceous · 09/12/2013 18:01

Readers, I bought the purple. It was the more flattering photo, but the dress is amazing. The way it's cut is so clever. As it was a mere £205, I can go back in the sales and do more buying.

QueenQueenie · 09/12/2013 18:12

Herbs, the dress is FAB. Well done!

addle · 09/12/2013 19:08

Gorgeous, gorgeous dress.

um, BTM - now that I'm a friend of yours on FB - what do I do next?

Wilbur - have name of someone if you still looking. will pm you.

bigTillyMintspie · 09/12/2013 19:47

Can you see my friends? Click on the ones you recognise? I'll have a look and PM you names!

Blackduck · 09/12/2013 20:27
