Hi Springs.
New thread, hopefully, with the following link to our old one....

Early Spring

Still loving my colours, but nit prepared to give up my leggings and skinny jeans and warm big boots.
Ingenue I am not!
Maybe my sad demeanour due to the last few weeks upsets has slanted the reading???

Mumelie · 22/11/2013 21:25

Sorry aque can't seem to post a photo of the sheet from my phone. Will try to PM you.

Mumelie · 22/11/2013 21:35

Can't get that to work either! pm me your email if you like and I'll email them to you. Grin

BirdyBedtime · 22/11/2013 21:45

Aque -sorry the style day has confused you. I can't offer any advice as I've never done the style day. But I remember feeling very confused after my colour day as I would never have dreamt of wearing pink, coral, yellow etc and most of my clothes were 'wrong'. Just remember if your colours are right then you'll look good anyway and the style is the icing on the cake.

Aquelven · 22/11/2013 22:08

Well, I've had time to think a bit more & reading what you've all said, you're right, we don't have to follow it all exactly. My consultant is quite a forceful person, perhaps her dramatic!
I'm not going to give up my big jumpers either, Beginner. It's too flipping cold for a start.
I'm sure I'll get the hang of it eventually. We all seem to struggle with some bits don't we? We'll just have to compare notes & post anything we see. There do seem to be a lot of us ingenues in Spring don't there? Grin

Wonder if there are lots of winter dramatics or summer romantics?

Gillybobs · 23/11/2013 00:25

Aquelven fear ye not, let's get season back with her lovely outfit posts, you have NOTHING to worry about.

Great ing/nat or nat/ing outfits are tunic, leggings and riding boots or jeans and blouse (with feminine details) plus small scale jewels and a tweed or cord blazer.

BeginnerSAHM · 23/11/2013 08:07

Ah, Gilly to the rescue Grin! Again! Fab...

Aquelven · 23/11/2013 09:06

Oh, Gilly, thanks that would be great. I'm in sore need of inspiration!

OP posts:
aprilmay · 23/11/2013 16:37

Aque I know what you mean about confusion. I don't think it has ever taken me so long to get dressed as it has since I've been 'done'! Today I'm in head to toe black....I'm a rebel, me!

Desperate for a bit of shopping to cheer me up, but I keep eating cake which doesn't help.

Hi to everyone else too - what have you worn today?

Aquelven · 23/11/2013 17:03

Good for you April Grin
Today I'm wearing comfy sloppy black trousers, the new yellow jumper my consultant condemned & a dark brown fleece jacket type thingy.

Thanks for the offer, Mumelie, but I decided to email the consultant explaining my confusion. She's sent me the ingenue stuff & a lot of that seems more me if laced with a bit of natural, so I've decided got the impression she did too that I'm really more ingenue natural & I can work with that....I think.....eventually when I get my head round it.
Is Seasons going to come back though? Would love to hear her take on it.

OP posts:
Aquelven · 23/11/2013 17:10

Idiot! Meant nat ing, anyway more ing than nat, whichever way round they twirl it. Blush

OP posts:
Aquelven · 23/11/2013 17:16

Forgot to tell you.
Today I found a fab lipstick for us Blues, well I think so anyway, & dirt cheap! Grin
It isn't orange, like lots, it's a warm pinkish coral, not too dark so lovely for daytime.
MUA No 7, got it in Superdrug for £1.
Here's a link to it on the brand's site, I think it looks a bit darker on the picture than it is in real life

That looks lovely Aque. I own too many lipsticks though.

Fooogle · 23/11/2013 19:27

I succumbed to a lipstick again today. Think it's just easier than clothes and cheaper (usually!). It's a topshop one called ditsy. Corally pinky red the covers all bases!

Glad you're feeling a bit less muddled aque.
gilly your nat ing outfit of shirt cardigan and jeans sounds like today's outfit... Liberty print blouse, yellow joules cardi (couple years old) and next skinnies...

Mumelie · 23/11/2013 19:59

Hi springs
Glad your sorted out with ingenue info now Aque. It's a lot to get your head around at first.
Love those 2 lipsticks. I have bought lots since I had my colours done - must not buy any more! Shock

Wearing my Autograph cream long cashmere jumper over indigo skinnies with brown pleather side stripes, tan leather riding boots and a big tan brown and black leopard print scarf. Very chilly here - can't seem to warm up at all Sad

Spent the afternoon going light brown from blonde - finally feel much better and my colours look even more fab now I'm my natural colour again. Grin

Joycey29 · 23/11/2013 21:16

Ok - help please....
I have jaw length curly hair that is now at a length where I am scraping it back.
I know when it's long it's lovely but I wear it back most of the time.
Jaw length is great when I have time to style it.
Twice in life have had pixie short. Really tempted to do it again. Feel I need a new start.
DH is back home and if we ignore the elephant in the room, we are better than we ve been for years.
So question - do I cut???
Not very ing but really feel misdiagnosed???
Help!

Aquelven · 23/11/2013 23:53

Oh, Joycey, I'm so glad he's back home & things are getting better for you. Smile
Hair wise. Mmm, I probably can't be much help. I've only once as an adult had short hair & that was a disaster when I went, in desperation, to a very posh hairdresser after my Ds was born. I asked for a trim & got a virtual crew cut Sad did nothing for my ego when I was already struggling with the baby blues.
Can you put it up a bit? Casual as if it was short? Just to get the feel & look of it for a bit to help you decide.

Mumelie, glad yours turned out great. Your jumper sounds lovely. I went a bit mad buying knitting yarn today, daren't admit how much Blush Quite a bit of it IS cashmere blend though & all in spring colours Grin

Mumelie · 24/11/2013 07:58

Hi Joycey - glad you are starting to sort things out at home, lovely to have you back on here. Hair wise I'd maybe give it a few weeks in case it's a reaction to the situation. You may regret it if you go for the chop. That said I think a pixie cut can be very feminine if it's soft with wispy bits. Sounds like you are at the annoying in between stage of hair growth - don't give up - try pinning the sides or fringe back. I've gone from short asymmetric Bob to layered hair to my collar bone in the last 18 months so can sympathise!

Aque - Oh I wish I had the time (and patience) to knit. My cream cashmere is lovely but a bit of a pain as looks grubby after a few hours wear.

Off for a long muddy walk and Sunday lunch out today - must improve on my khaki Green wellies!

Gillybobs · 24/11/2013 09:20

Joycey, no panic chopping of the hair! And it's definitely not right of an ingenue anyway. Could you go for a choppy wavy bob? You need movement and femininity in your hair to look your best.

If you are still puzzled by your diagnosis email the consultant and be honest. Ask questions and get some answers and reassurance.

aprilmay · 24/11/2013 10:53

Mumelie your outfit sounds lovely. Made me feel all cosy just reading it! Smile

I'd leave the haircut Joycey, it sounds lovely as it is. Maybe have a week where you put effort in to styling it, to see if you like it and if you can keep it up?

How long does it take you to style? Mine is naturally wavy and it requires hardly any styling. Just have to leave it to air dry and then spruce up a few bits with a curling tong.

Happy Sunday everyone! (Doesn't the weekend go quickly!)

Aquelven · 24/11/2013 15:54

Too quickly!
I actually find my hair much easier to manage if it's longer. It's wavy & curls at the ends, I keep it shoulder length or just a bit above with a fringe. I only need to style it when I wash it,every two or three days. Sometimes in between I need to run straighteners over the fringe if the weather's a bit damp but that's all.
Not very springy today. Just wearing old stuff as I'm busy bathing & blow drying the little mutts. Grin

butterfliesandflowers · 26/11/2013 14:14

Hi Joycey, glad you and DH are working things out. Have you done anything with your hair yet?

Sorry I haven't been on for a little while, Congrats Aque on your style day - welcome to the ingster club! HHave you tried looking in pinterest at other peoples natural / ingénue boards? It can give some good ideas of what you think would work for you and what you are sure wouldn't!

Also, taking photos of your outfits can help you decide why you do or don't like them and high light areas that perhaps need more interest? I have been shocked by how much pattern, detail and jewellery I can use, especially on plainer clothes.

Gillybobs · 26/11/2013 15:58

Picked up this Lola rose squirrel print scarf in tk maxx today for 17 quid, swatches to aquamarine, Apple and dove item.mobileweb.ebay.co.uk/viewitem?itemId=221314593335

BeginnerSAHM · 26/11/2013 16:30

Ooh, love it Gilly!!

Had a John Lewis mooch today Blush. Got my eye on a cream/lace mint velvet l/s tee, lace hem tee/tops/mint-v/fcp-product/3579 here - good for, err, layering and good for ingenue. Also liked a lovely Somerset (Temperley cheap range) aqua/green and white feathery wool scarf (not on website yet! Too new...).

And I bought a largish tan cross body Radley bag (to fit purse, phone, keys and snacks in while racing round with the children - this.

Joycey - have you chopped you hair off??Shock
