Did it!

OP posts:
herbaceous · 05/11/2013 10:28

Though how much of the sicking up was exacerbated by your mother's antics? What a nightmare.

Cremolafoam · 05/11/2013 11:41

Oh mrs s. How grim for you. Get thee to a medical practitioner FGS .

I am having a setback as wound has cellulitis. Spent weekend in a variety of hospital A&E departments. Miserable .

In S&b news I have a new red coat of loveliness. Just can't go out ATM which is annoying. Looking forward to when I can go swishing about in it.Grin

motherinferior · 05/11/2013 12:15

Cremo Sad

OP posts:
motherinferior · 05/11/2013 15:18

Ho Hemm Gee.

I just turned down a commission for a grand. Well, it wasn't guaranteed that I'd get it but a friend was going to recommend me if I wanted it.

She didn't want it.

Why, I hear you cry?

What on earth could move you to reject a whole thousand of your English pounds?

Well, it was about pants. Support pants.

And photos would have been involved.

And it's a rather well-known paper with a website...

OP posts:
hattymattie · 05/11/2013 15:38

Oh Cremo - I hope you can wear your super coat soon.

MI - does it have to be you in the support pants? Can't you just have shots from waist down. Nobody would know it was you (except us of course).

motherinferior · 05/11/2013 15:42

Alas, no, shots just of my bum and tum and thighs would not have been an option. A head to toe rippling pic. Then a pic in a party dress wearing the support pants and then one without.

The mind boggles.

OP posts:
Blackduck · 05/11/2013 16:34

Noooo MI that's just not on Wink

Cremo sorry to hear about all your woes.

Here our Dean has managed to disenfranchise half the staff in one fell swoop. I am Angry as it is shows so little respect or sensitivity for people's lives or the hard work they put in.

Off to watch fireworks.....

hattymattie · 05/11/2013 16:35

Grin the before and after's a bit cheeky.

motherinferior · 05/11/2013 17:23

We're talking a feature like this

OP posts:
motherinferior · 05/11/2013 17:24

BD, that's terrible. Have they all lost their jobs?

OP posts:
bigTillyMint · 05/11/2013 18:36

MI, you need a friend who would be happy to be photographed in the grannypants - not me!
And is it just me, or does Petronella's face look a bit strangely photographed?

BD, what does disenfranchised mean in terms of their jobs?

Cremo, you poor loveFlowersCakeWine to cheer you up.

I am making DS sweat - I had 2 calls from teachers today about his lariness in classAngry and then he had the gall to ask if he could go to the fireworks with his mateGrin I have told him we won't discuss it till DH gets in, so he is going around with a very hang-dog expression!

Blackduck · 05/11/2013 20:08

Not quite that bad - just you don't count... He said (in describing a new management structure) ' I can't be responsible for 120 staff 'errmmm I think you will find there are rather more than that in the school that you are responsible for.... But we, apparently, are just petty bureaucrats (yeah that keep your arses out of the fire...)

motherinferior · 05/11/2013 20:57

We have just had massive wobbly from DD1 about her swimsuit. Which turned out to be...on the drying rack in the kitchen after she'd gone swimming at the weekend.

She has gone to bed in a furious mood with both DP and me Grin

OP posts:
Auriga · 05/11/2013 22:07

Cremo, sorry you are still suffering. Hope cellulitis is in retreat and you can go out again.

And MrsS, my mother's behaviour has occasionally had that effect on me, but do you think you could have migraine? The headache is not always predominant and the regularity is a bit suggestive.

Must have a look at woollies and tops. Running out of presentable stuff and starting to feel the cold.

Is it me or have we not heard from Strops in a while?

MrsSchadenfreude · 05/11/2013 22:18

Yes, where is Stroppy?

Crem - hope you get sorted out quickly and can go out swishing your red coat soon.

The vomiting coincides with really violently awful period pain - I had two nurofen and two paracetamol together and it didn't touch the pain. I was doubled up and crying with the pain, then dashed to the loo and was very violently sick. I am going to go to the doctor next week. The abscess still seems to be there, following a 5 day course of antibiotics. Why do they only give you 5 days worth here? You always got a 7 day course in France.

I have started my new job and seem to have exchanged Arse Boss for Bitch Boss. Sad Oh and I have nothing to do, and won't have anything to do until at least early December.

originalpiratematerial · 05/11/2013 22:52

Hello again everyone. I would wave, but it makes my bingo wings flap. MrsS that sounds horrible, you poor thing Sad.

I need jumpers. i have one, and it is only from New Look. I think I need a trip to Uniqlo, to purchase layers. Layer upon layer of them.

CointreauVersial · 05/11/2013 23:19

Bitch Boss? Shock Nightmare, MrsS. Hope it gets better.

Crem, huge sympathies, you are having a rubbish recovery, aren't you? Sad

Exactly fourteen years ago, I was pacing round the house strapped to a TENS machine, bringing up my dinner, and preparing to depart for the hospital - yes, my baby boy is 14 tomorrow. We have just been out for an unbelievably gut-busting dinner at an American style diner, and he was on great form. A huge improvement on this morning, when he made us 10 minutes late to school as he was having a full scale tantrum about hair gel.Grin

Blackduck · 06/11/2013 06:24

I was thinking about Stropps too - hope she is okay.....
I have an interview next Friday but the task is unbelievably easy and I am thinking Hmm might be a flying pan/fire situation

bigTillyMint · 06/11/2013 06:41

Oh MrsS, you have some luck, don't you?! Is this new job different from the one you were doing in the summer? Nothing to do sounds OK though?

Am loving the tantrums about swimsuits and hairgelGrin DD has a CA for Spanish tomorrow. She has diligently learned it off by heart. Whilst this is clearly fantastic and I am very pleased with her, I am wondering how this really contributes to true language learningConfused

Meanwhile DS was pretty contrite - fingers crossed he can try to shut up in those lessons.

Stropps, are you under a pile of translating?

OPM, Uniqlo is good for warm stuff. I have about eleventy million and three jumpers as I like knittingBlush

motherinferior · 06/11/2013 08:26

Oh lord, perhaps we should track Stropps down? (Have you seen the thread about the Gransnetter missing in the Alps, btw?)

Cremo, hope you feel better vv soon. MrsS, why don't you write your novel under the desk and take it easy? I know it's vile to be bored but you could do with a break. And some time to write inGrin

OP posts:
addle · 06/11/2013 09:26

Cremo - hope you get to wear lovely red coat soon (red coats always remind me of Holly Hunter in Broadcast News - good thing by me).

Mrs S - I always had my worst migraines with accompanying vomiting when hormones raging - so most recently peri and full menopause. Glad you getting to the doctor.

Cross text from my dd yesterday asking me to stop messaging her with questions about her bedroom when she was 'busy working on an essay'. Words I never thought I'd hear - hooray!

herbaceous · 06/11/2013 09:57

Yes Mrs S. Go under BitchBoss's radar, coast for a bit, and write that novel. Stick to the (wo)man.

I too get migrainey headaches (though not as bad as MrsS) when Aunt Flo is approaching. For the past few months I've managed to remember to take magnesium supplements, which have helped. You could try that for starters?

Heard from mum last night that my sis (or rather, I suspect, her husband) wants to send their eldest to Eton. As a boarder. Can't help but feel it will turn him into a hideous twat. And feel sad that mine and sis's lives are veering forever further away from each other, and once my parents go I won't have much family left. Sad

motherinferior · 06/11/2013 12:21

Oh dear, the missing woman's body has been found Sad

OP posts:
bigTillyMint · 06/11/2013 12:50

Oh MI, how sad. I know that area really well - it is where we go skiing every year, and where my friends live. How very sad for the family.

lalsy · 06/11/2013 14:00

That is very sad.

Crem, I hope you feel better soon.

Addle, Smile about dd's text.

Uniqlo is great for warm things. I like their coloured heattech vests - no chilly gaps. I want some really warm slippers (cutting edge, me) that won't fall off all the time but do not have stupid animals on them - any ideas?
